  1. You can count me in, again. This is going to be a big one.
  2. So, I am a week late. But I am here. And I am ready, and willing, no, needing to do this challenge. Physical 1.) Follow Barbell Batallion Cycle 2. The 3-Days a week plan. Even if I don't get it M-W-F every week, I just need to get the 3 sessions in. 2.) 5 consecutive pull-ups. I am planning on doing my max amount of consecutive pull-ups every lift day, with the exception of days where pull-ups are already in the workout. 3.) Lose 10lbs. Eating right, and staying healthy. Life 1.) Stay Paleo - I am 85% Paleo. I still indulge in alcohol, and the occasional bowl of ice cream, but other than that I am good. I just need to keep it that way, and not stray for snacks. 2.) Move to Missoula - I am planning on university for the Winter/Spring 2012 semseter. I need to get there. Sooner rather than later. I am going to continue job hunting, and apartment hunting to get myself there This is where I will need help. An accountabil-buddy if you will. Pester me on Facebook

    Trex Can't Stop

Phew, what a busy week. Sorry for the super long delay on updates. I just haven't had time. But on 7/29 I did Pull-Ups: 3reps x 5 sets Bench Press: 5 reps x 3 sets @ 150lbs I did get my hike in last week, and I did a bunch of pull-ups at my aunt's cabin which was awesome. Unfortunately I haven't been able to make it to the gym this week. I have been going for my daily walks at work which have been nice, and eating well. No photos yet this week. And tonight is the Relay for Life event. I will be walking all night, and have raised money for the fight against Cancer. As far as the App I use for the Push-Ups, I got it in the Amazon Marketplace, and it is called....."100 Push-Ups."

WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Lifting was intense last night. Having no car, and having to bike everywhere gets exhausting, and yesterday were two leg exercises. Squat: 1rep X 5sets @ 225lbs Power Clean: 5reps X 3sets @ 95lbs Running: .74 miles in 3:47 Biking: 4.67 miles. I forgot to track my distance from work to my aunts house. So I would venture that it is a little more than 5 miles. GOALS: Pictures: None yet this week. But I am heading out to my aunt's cabin this weekend, which lends itself nicely to picture taking. Hiking:Not yet this week. But again, I think that I am going to be able to get one in this weekend. Weight Loss:I have lost the 5lbs I set out to lose over the 6 weeks. Which brings the grand total of weight loss this year to 50 lbs! Holy shit.

Monday Wrap Up Car is still dead. So I have been pedaling a lot. A total of 7.37 miles Work out: Push Press - 1repx5sets at 115lbs Barbell Row - 5repsx3sets at 95lbs Pull-Ups - 2.75-2.5-1.25 Chin-Ups - 1.5-.75 Run - .83 miles in 4:16 I decided to keep track of all of my statistics. Even the running and biking. Because, well why not?

WEEKEND WRAP UP: I missed my work out Friday evening. I had to attend a going away party Saturday: Went swimming for a bit up at the lake and got about 4 decent pictures. Sunday: More swimming, got my weekly hike in, and got more pictures. Grade: B I missed my workout Friday, and I failed to make time for it Saturday like I had planned. But I nailed all my other goals for the week.

Last night was another awesome lifting session I ran ~.5miles Deadlift: 1repx5sets @ 315lbs Lunges: 5repsx3sets @ 105lbs On top of all that I rode my bike home which was another 1.7 miles. I'm not keeping track of time, because I am not worried about how fast I run a mile, I am more concerned with just doing it. I'm not a runner (or cyclist) and I don't plan on being, I just want to get the exercise from doing it. No pictures taken yet this week, and I still haven't completed my hike. BUT! I am down 1lb (ish) from Monday. Which is a step in the right direction. I did Day 2 of 6 weeks to 100 push ups. Monday was day 1, and I did 45, not consecutive mind you, and yesterday I did 50. What is so crazy for me, is I don't ever recall doing that many push ups. But here I am! Probably hiking tonight, which means pictures!

Today was Lifting Day 1 I ran from my gym to a local middle school, in 105 degree heat, did my warm up routine + Day 1 of my 6 weeks to 100 Push Ups, then ran back for a total of 1.6 miles. Pull-Ups: 1repx5sets. Nailed them. All of them. Bench Press: 5repsx3sets at 130lbs. On top of that, my car is crapping out on me, so I will be pedaling! Which is good and bad. It is crazy hot here, and it is 1.7 miles to work, and on the way home from work, is all up hill. OH BOY.

Today it is supposed to break triple digits! So it is only too cold maybe 9 months out of the year. If you want to see pictures, I have a website, and a facebook
  10. Here it goes. Can't stop, won't stop. Gotta get better. And here is how I plan to do it: Physical Goals: 5 Consecutive Pull-Ups: I can do roughly 3 pull-ups now, I want to be able to string 5 together by the end of the challenge.Hike Every Week: I live in a pretty beautiful place, and there are a myriad of trails around, and most within 15 minutes. Time to go adventuring.100 Consecutive Push-Ups in 6 Weeks: I have the app on my phone to help track my progress, and give me the benchmarks to hit the goal of 100 consecutive push ups. I just have to buckle down and do it. Lose at least 5lbs: I have lost about 45lbs so far this year, and my goal is to make about 60-70 lbs for the whole year.Life Goals: Take 10 Photos a Week: I need to build my portfolio, and I can absolutely make 10 photos a week. Get to Missoula: I am planning on starting university again, starting in Winter/Spring. My plan is to move there now, get acquainted, get a job and get established. Then buckle down for 4 years of school.I am following the Rebel Strength Guide: Barbell Battalion: Rank 2 - Cycle C. (It fits better with my work week.)

    TREX TAKE 2

Yesterday was a good day. For the first time ever, I did a pull-up. Not only that, but I did 4. I also deadlifted 315lbs, which is notable because it is 1.5x my bodyweight. Which brings me to the last note, since the first of the year, I have lost a 5th of my bodyweight. Deadlifts:4sets x 3 reps at 315lbs Squats: 3 sets x 5 reps at 105lbs

    TREX TAKE 2

Lifting last night was really tough. I could still feel the sore legs from my backpacking trip, and my sunburn made my squats impossible. Squats: 5x135lb, 4x185. I should be lifting 245, but the sunburn held me back. I couldn't hold the bar. Power Clean: 3setsx5repsx105lbs

    TREX TAKE 2

Well, that was quite the challenge. Last week was definitely not an ordinary week. I was able to get my lift in Monday, which was great. DEADLIFT: 1repx5sets at 305lbs BB Row: 5repsx3sets at 115lb And then, starting Tuesday, I was sick as balls. Tuesday was a struggle to do anything, then Wednesday, it was a struggle to get out of bed, much less lift. On top of that, I had plans to go backpacking Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Wednesday night was the last night to pack for our 3 day adventure out into the great unknown. Thursday saw a little break in the illness, and come Friday I was about 85%. We ended up hiking about 8.5 miles that day. Up and over trees and rocks, across rivers and streams and all with a 50+ pound pack on my back. That was my weight training for the weekend. And it was exhausting. More to come tonight.
