  1. It's so hard when life gets in the way - I totally understand. But good for you for taking the time for yourself to get in something. ANYTHING you do gets you closer to your goal!! :-) :-)
  2. It's going well, AND I can do 2 (almost 3) FULL pushups - I am really getting there! My pull-up goal has been a little neglected, so I'm not sure how that is going to end up, but regardless, I am getting stronger, and that makes me SO happy! How are things going with you, Aerie??
  3. Good Friday Morning, Adventurers! Just a quick check in - crazy week per usual! Goals are moving along. As far as my food is going, I have decided to get in the mindset of: Every moment is a new moment to make a good choice". This is so that, if I go over my goal limit of 8 grms of added sugar a day, I don't succumb to the "Well, screw it, I already messed up" mentality. Because every moment is a moment to start fresh. Fitness goals are moving along. I know I am getting stronger. I am hoping to make my goals, I am working toward them, but no matter what, I am closer now than I was yesterday, and I will be even closer when this challenge is over. Peace, Adventurers! Soldier on!
  4. Our tabata is 6 rounds of 8 intervals each round - I think it works out to 4 minutes each round, so 24 minutes of ridiculously hard work. LOL. It is grueling for sure, but it's a mental game. Your body CAN do it, your brain has to believe it, so your body can follow suit.
  5. It went well. Sometimes I get to a point in this process where I am just ready for the performances to be DONE already! LOL I'm at that point now! The concert is Friday and Saturday night - so the weekend will certainly be busy. I get to train today! Woohoo! Tabata with some weights thrown in! I'll hate it while I'm doing it, but I'll love it after!! :-)
  6. Angel, that doesn't matter one bit! You are here, challenging yourself to be better, and we are right here along for the ride with you! You rock it!!!
  7. My husband and I co-founded a community theater group in our area and we are doing our final rehearsal for a cabaret concert we are doing. My husband and I are both performing as well as producing the show, so it's double stress. But, it's going to e a good show!
  8. Thanks Aerie!!! My update to my food from last night - NO sweet potato at dinner, but I DID have another cup of coffee at work about 2:00 with a pack of cocoa. This is still in my guidelines, and MUCH less sugar than I have BEEN consuming. So I am happy. Fuel for today: 2 cups cold black coffee, 1 scoop protein powder, 1/2 packet of instant cocoa, ice oatmeal made with water, and blueberries, topped with natural PB 4 oz turkey breast burger, tons of grilled zucchini and red peppers, hot sauce 1 banana, 1 hard boiled egg with salt and pepper I have a very long and semi-stressful rehearsal this evening, and I have to go right there from work. It will likely go til quite late tonight. I am going to ask my hubby to pack me something, but I'm not sure what yet. He's on board with clean eating, so he will know a good dinner to make that is portable. I am SO BLESSED to have his support. You'll notice this looks STRIKINGLY similar to yesterday - I tend to eat the same things over and over. I like the stability of it, and I cook in bulk on the weekends for hubby and I to take us through Wednesday or so during the week. That's it for now! My workout yesterday ROCKED MY WORLD. I SO kicked ass!
  9. have.at.it. - suspension training (like TRX) is a way of doing body weight exercises. Check out this video of rows: You can do SO much on it. It can incorporate instability to make movements harder... super cool. Love TRX. My workout was AMAZING. I was SO proud of myself. Similar to what have.at.it was saying - going to the gym makes me SANE. It pumps me up about myself, my accomplishments, my hard work. I love it. Last nights workout was a killer. 3 10 minute rounds - one metabolic, one strength, one TRX. I usually strategize this workout so I do metabolic FIRST, fearing that by the end if I did it, I wouldn't finish the round. Well, due to circumstances last night, I bit the bullet and made metabolic LAST. The metabolic round was box jumps, #20 ball slams, and mountain climbers - all x3. Not only did I do it last, but I did the advances reps for it (25 of each, x3) in 10 minutes. I was so freaking exhausted and blown away by my accomplishments. The other rounds were awesome too. A total of 40 sumo dead lifts at #105, 40 pushups, and 40 exploding shoulder press with #25 each hand. 50 TRX rows, 50 TRX jump squats and 50 TRX chest press. I was exhilarated! have.at.it - you hit the nail on the head: "So, as you can see, the gym keeps me sane. If I didn't work out, I would probably need medication" Aerie - AWESOME plank! I have a hard time with 1 minute! Hmmm... sounds like my next goal! :-)
  10. My goals are moving along - my eating has been crappy, but I am holding myself accountable and today so far has been awesome. My training later is going to be WILD - I can't WAIT. Strength, suspension training, AND metabolic. RAWR!!! How's everyone doing? How was your test, Aerie?
  11. Today is going SO well. I can't WAIT for my training later. It's going to be a beast! :onthego: :onthego: :onthego:
  12. Good morning, Adventurers! Confession: I have been SUCKING at my eating, But seriously, that all changes RIGHT NOW. I just feel different. I am not interested in eating the junk. I'm not feeling any cravings to slay, so I am on the straight and narrow. I'm going to post my food on the thread each day (on plan and off plan - no matter what) I am really killing my workouts, and I am very proud of that. I am really seeing some muscle. My pushups are getting lower to the ground (can do them on a step not instead of a box) and my pull-ups are coming along - VERY slowly. food today: 2 cups cold black coffee, 1 scoop protein powder, 1/2 packet of instant cocoa, ice oatmeal made with water, blackberries, and blueberries, topped with natural PB 4 oz turkey breast burger, tons of grilled zucchini and red peppers (I love grilling season!), hot sauce 1 banana, 2 hard boiled eggs with salt and pepper (pre-training) (Training) Large veggie salad, 4 oz chicken breast, oil and vinegar, 1/2 sweet potato (if I am super hungry) Just keep moving forward!!!
  13. How did it go?? Did you do the test yet? So glad you are doing well! Sounds like you are going strong!! Great to meet you! I want to lose about the same amount. So glad you have joined us!
  14. Strongmama has NOT been bringin' the sexy. I've had a pretty stressful week, and I let it get the better of me. I let it bring me down, and used it as an excuse to not watch my eating like I should be. It's GOT to change. Rockin' the gym. Rockin' the unwinding before bed... eating is SUCKING.
  15. NICE! Do you have a specific workout you do to test your gains in strength?
