  1. I have no problem getting to bed on time. Its the darn phone that keeps me from sleeping anwhere near 40 minutes after getting to bed. oh just one more post.. yea right! That phone..... Good luck with your goals. Show us how its done shortstuff... the phones will not keep us from our sleep any longer!
  2. This is my first challenge too! Good luck with your goals! If nothing else those 71 miles offer plenty of opportunity to up that speed right? happy running!
  3. German: Its the vineman in Sonoma county. I'm not an ocean person so picked one with a river swim. AND 'doing a workout to avoid writing that I didnt' may or may not be EXACTLY why I joined the challege haha. If I have to do it for fear of guilt Ill take it. Whatever gets it done. and Hammlin no not bad at all. Though i have no idea what you are talking about. I usually hear a referrence to ironman. So at least its new lol SOOO on a side note.... how do you quote? seriously this is the first time ive ever actually written anything on this site. Is that sad? :/
  4. full ironman? Cray! Im training for a half at the moment. Using this perfectly timed 6 week challenge to get me through the last 6 weeks before race day. Terrified is putting it lightly. Agian I ask...Full? Thats so awesome! Good luck in your goals! You're not joking about needing to really really REALLY want it.
  5. First Challenge… Ever. Not entirely sure I am even doing this all correctly. Hopefully I learn as I go I have a problem with motivation. I can run all day on the street. Put me on a treadmill and I might make it a mile or two TOPS. That stop button looks really nice, Oh darn! I pushed it. At least on the street I have to make it back as far as I went out! The trouble with this is… I love to do races from a 5K to the Half Ironman I am currently training for. Lacking motivation to train leads to just going out and doing them unprepared. I am capable of finishing. Finishing well? That’s another story. My Half Ironman is exactly 6 weeks away. Um HELLO perfect timing! I have been training for it since February. I have an awesome training program! What would be super awesome if I would follow the darn thing! My goals apply to the race. #1 Make excellence a habit: Consistently complete each weeks training. IN FULL. Each work out is important and I need to do them all. This requires an average per week of: SWIMMING: 5,000 meters RIDING: 80 miles RUNNING: 20 miles #2 Be kind to my stomach and body: This isn’t a diet! It’s continuing to focus on proper natural fuel to perform at my best. No junk! PLUS lighter people get up hills faster! I have lost 4 lbs in the last 3 weeks! I need to keep it up! A decrease in body fat percentage is a must! JUNE 3rd: BF% = 27% at 5’3†and 143 lbs. #3 GAIN: As in No Pain No Gain: The average of my past two “Wednesday night climbing training ride†is = 13 miles @ 12.7 mph IN 1:03:00 INCREASE Average Speed! Easy to monitor as the ride never changes! #4 for the Level UP?? 70.3 Sunday, July 14th: RACE DAY To finish with no regrets. I don’t want to JUST finish the Half Ironman. Though that would be enough! I don’t have a time goal (okay I do) However, the most important thing, the true goal, is to know that I finished well. Not barely! Not by the skin of my teeth! No crawling or passing out after. I want to finish and be proud that I left it all on the course and have no regrets! I don’t want to be thinking of all the rides and runs I should have done (like I normally do)! I want to finish this bad boy in 7 HOURS
