  1. I unassembled my computer halfway through the challenge, so had no way to keep up on the forums. However I did /try/ to keep up on the Challenge Goal 1: Increase pace to 9 minutes. DEX: 4 I have done a few timed runs above and beyond this goal, but I have yet to reduce my overall time to my A time. I have definitely increased my time, but will reward myself a C with this challenge. +2 DEX A: 9:00 B: 9:01-9:20 C: 9:21-9:40 D: 9:41 - 10:00 Goal 2: Stay on schedule! STA: 3 DEX: 1 I did this!!! I got a bad sinus infection and I lost some miles last week, however I had gone over and beyond so often that I am still ahead!! +3 STA +1 DEX A Stay on goal or better B: Miss 1-5 miles C: Miss 6-10 miles D: Miss 11-15 miles Goal 3: Incorporate 2 strength training sessions a week. STR: 3 STA: 1 I found after a few weeks that I while I was lifting I wasn't giving myself enough time between runs to recover. It's something I will pick-up again after the race. A: All 12 workouts B: 10-11 workouts C: 8-9 workouts D: 6-7 workouts Life Goal: Read more! WIS: 3 I was in the middle of the 4th book and lost steam. :-( +2.25 WIS A: 4 or more books read B: 3 books read C: 2 books read D: 1 book read Overall I'm happy I at least tried, and I did better myself and my life. I have also convinced my entire house to change their way of eating. We are shopping at farmer's markets and eating so much better as a whole. I have them out hiking with me and being active and it has been so wonderful to have their support and interaction.
  2. I LOVE the painting of the day. SO much much to take in on your thread! Great work!
  3. I checked out that yoga app you recommended, pretty nifty. Honestly I haven't tried many of them, but the ones I have tried were more just 'libraries' Thanks for sharing the find. Sun poisoning = bad! I hope you feel better! Sounds like even with life in the way you're still trying. That's better than sitting on the couch, watching tv, and eating gross stuff. Keep pushing through. ^.~
  4. SUPER addictive!! Exactly. And by the time I wake up, it's getting too hot, so then I've been trying to go at night.. or as close to night as I can. I think it's going to have to change. And your welcome! It can be a little overwhleming at first and its not the flashiest, prettiest site to look at, but it's amazing. The member giveaways are harder to win, there is usually only one winner. But the early reviewers..... I have gotten so many amazing reads for free there. All for a review? Sure thing.
  5. Week 1 & 2 recap rvenfrost lays encompassed in a mound of pillows and blankets. It's another day and it's time to get up and move, but the husband looks so snuggly while he's sleeping.... Thoughts of nestling back into the blankets take over. She sighs. "Can't be doing that! Time to get up! Nikolous has to have parental guidance and I have things to do, think about the swimming!" Not far from her house, nestled between a few lush trees there lays a small pond of water she has been working daily on. Trying to restore it back to a sparkling, swimming condition. It takes a lot of time and effort, but as the weather heats up she knows it's worth it. She thinks to herself , "Is it a run day? Or did I do that yesterday?" Time blurs in her sleepy mind as she fumbles with clothing. She hasn't felt like doing much, but keeps talking herself into doing it anyway. She plans out the rest of her day while she feeds the animals that co inhabit her house. Ferrets, cats, a dog, a fish, and a kid. Who let all these things in!?! Once everyone has had breakfast its off to restore the pond to it's former glory! Oh, and tend to the weeds. There is a woman always yelling about the weeds. Another co inhabitant she picked up somewhere. Once the day has heated up to unbearable temperatures, she retreats into the house. Upstairs into her den. She spends hours reading and doing some research, stopping only to remember she still has some exercise to attend to! After a successful, enjoyable routine, she retreats back upstairs to journal her progress and read more! That's pretty much been everyday for the past few weeks. Not a whole lot of motivation, but something is keeping me going. I see the results, I see the progress and I just push myself to keep going. I think the heat is getting to me, I either need to get up earlier for runs, or start figuring out how to use a treadmill the way I want. ~.~ How am I doing with goals? Well lets see! Goal 1: Increase pace to 9 minutes. I had my doubts about putting a speed increase AND a distance increase in the same challenge.... I should have listened to myself. I'm not losing any speed, but I'm not gaining much either. >.> Goal 2: Stay on schedule! I am staying on schedule! I am at LEAST doing the suggested, sometimes more. So far, so good. Goal 3: Incorporate 2 strength training sessions a week. Not only have I been hitting everyone one of these, but I have impressed myself with progress. I am learning to love it! I love that moment when I'm like... "is this what I normally lift? Feels light today... OMG!!! *runs to get more weight*" Life Goal: Read more! One down, halfway through another.... looking good! I can do this. I only wish the motivation fairy would fly by so I could catch it. ^.^
  6. Kangaroos!!! Doing a great job! I loove your write-ups.
  7. great to hear you're catching up! I get that way sometimes, and life gets complicated, but every day is a new day and a new try! Keep on it and keep wanting it.
  8. 50k... I can't even.... comprehend. I wish you the best of luck sir, and I am humbled by your presence.
  9. I use Zombies, Run!!! I LOVE IT! Good luck with your goals!
  10. mileage on schedule, a little above in fact! Finished my first book yesterday, Grave Peril by Jim Butcher, started reading #5 Summer Knights. I'm looking forward to it! I've enjoyed all his other books so far. I took yesterday off as far as official workouts go, but I did play tourist and walk around a TON of the town showing around my mom's boyfriend. Tonight is another ST and then tomorrow is a nice run <3 The ONLY thing I'm doing badly with is the last 2 days of eating. I haven't eaten.. terribly BAD I guess, but I'm sure I've gone over my calorie budget. With my mom's boyfriend here it's been burgers and steaks on the grill, restaurants..... No good. I'll straighten that out.
  11. Love the shopping hiatus. I am culling my (everything) right now and it's nice to know that I might not cry when I'm done. I'm hoping it will allow me to breathe. So many things I don't use, I don't know how they all ended up here!! Those pictures are beautiful!
  12. I can't imagine having my run done by 6am, I'm lucky if I'm even alive at that hour~~!!! Great job, sounds like you are doing great. You must have some will power of steel.
  13. Thanks for the advice, It's just not really a blister yet? I feel like it is while running, but it isn't actually filled with anything so there isnt a need to open it or drain it ever. And by the next day it doesn't usually hurt or feel sore. But as soon as I get back to running it comes right back. I switched socks, and there is nothing in my shoes. Guess it's just me. Bad form probably ~.~ I'll try the band-aid thing.
  14. another League of Legends player here, bet you can guess who I main! sounds like you're doing great! I love your goals. Good luck!
  15. That follow-up post is amazing.... !! I moved far in search of gold as well.... I found it. Kind-of... But I too miss the beaches and forest!! Where are the trees!! Instead I can see forever and if I squint hard enough I'm pretty sure I could see my own backside. Surrounded by plains and friendly people with weird accents. /sigh It gets easier. Good luck to you! But from the looks of it, you won't need much luck.
  16. Yesterday I had my Abe's Army meeting, it went amazing. The leader had us doing all sorts of warm-ups and I felt tired before we even started~! Even so I still got my 3 miles in, which is the suggested mileage for the day. Anyone have any advice for sort-of blister things?!?!? Charged up my kindle, and I was in fact in the middle of book 3, well chapter 9. Since it's been so long I decided to start it over and go from the beginning. Had a sleepy day today, but I got a few chapters in and I shall get a few more before bed time! I also found out today that I had an older workout/home gym system thing in my garage. It's not as great as hitting the gym, but I put it together and it works. Had a pretty decent first st workout on it. ^.^ Soooo no excuses when I have it in my living room.
  17. I agree with everyone else, that point system for cleaning is awesome! I think I will incorporate that into the next challenge I do. Good luck with your goals, you seem like you know exactly what to do, I hope you get it done!
  18. wow! I bow down to your motherly skills and patience! I have one, and couldn't imagine more. I love your goals! Good luck!
  19. Great job so far! Congrats on the loss. I love my zombie 5k app~!!!! Do you use Zombies, Run! ? I had wanted to particpate in run for you lives, or one of the zombie-related runs/obstacle course but I'm just not there yet. Hopefully soon. Good luck on the rest of the weeks!
  20. I love the weight me 'anytime' 10 pounds. I totally know what you mean. good luck!
