  1. I love this clip because of the inspirational speeches and gets me pumped before going to the gym http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrUkqQLazLo
  2. If I ever need motivation, I visit other gyms to train. It breaks the monotony of the same consistent environment and equipments at my current gym. I also like to watch Pumping Iron.
  3. Do any of you have aspirations to compete on the bodybuilding or fitness stage when you reach a point in your training? I've been giving it some thought and about 80% sure of competing.
  4. Anybody looking forward to all the exciting stuff coming out of SDCC? Heard some great stuff, a new Transformers cartoon and Joss Whedon will be directing The Avengers movie.
  5. Yea, it looks to be a good time. The only thing I wish was that it would be on a different weekend because that's the same weekend for the St. Andrew Highland Games in Livonia.
  6. Anyone here in Michigan interested in checking out a strongman competition? The competition is called Stronger Than Hell and will be in Hell, Michigan. Here's the link to the website with the info, http://strongerthanhell.com/pg1.html I plan on being there and hope to see some fellow nerd fitness enthusiasts there
  7. The worse news is that the people who say to use cocoa butter are the ones who sell it. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/15/health/15real.html "Neither the subjects nor the researchers knew who was using which treatment. After many months, the researchers found no difference in the development or severity of marks, known medically as striae, over the abdomen, breasts or thighs. For those looking for an alternative, scientists have found that vitamin E creams are more effective" Sorry if I hit a sore spot, but cocoa butter has helped me out and prevented stretch marks for me.
  8. Hi everyone, good news and bad news... the bad news is stretch marks are permanent BUT the good news is you can prevent it from occurring, the best way to prevent stretch marks is to use cocoa butter lotion. Pregnant women and bodybuilders use it because the lotion cause the skin to have a little more elasticity so the skin can have more time to compensate for the growth. You can get the lotion anywhere at drugstores and grocery stores (i.e. CVS, Walmart, Target, etc.)

  13. Nice to see a fellow Michiganian here on the website. I was hoping I could have gone to the MCCC this year, but the timing was not good. I've been to a few of the cons and got some great pics of past events.
  14. Welcome aboard, if you decide to take Aikido, prepare for a lot of getting tossed and tossing people. I loved it when I took it during college.
  15. If you want the caffeine but not the coffee, try drinking Yerba Mate. Check out this website and be sure to watch the clip they have on the page http://yerbamate.com/
