  1. Yea, I used to do gymnastics as a kid so I'm pretty impressed I can still do them! I love your inspiration quotes, Barney Stinson is the greatest.
  2. Hi Aidenpouge, I love your goals, especially the fourth. I'm totally with you on that front. I've been reading way too many teen fantasy/paranormal romances. I need to get some classics under my belt and maybe try reading the newspaper once in while to keep in touch with the real word haha. You too seem to be doing well with your goals, keep it up!
  3. Hey Muryanp, I love that you're doing your challenge as novel/chapter updates. Tre cool! You seem to be fighting to good fight. I'm finding the best thing to do no matter how far away you seem from achieving your goals is to stay positive. It's getting me through my worst days
  4. Hey Kanjigirl, I love your goals, I'd find cardio five times a week a bit hard to stick to but you seem to be doing well. And I love Archery! It's not the best exercise though. I look forward to seeing your progress.
  5. Hey fellow Ravenclaw, You seem to be kicking some serious ass with this challenge. Well done! And self encouragement is a positive thing, I wish I gave myself more
  6. It's the third week already! Time does indeed fly. How's everyone doing?
  7. Okay, so I've been a little absent. I've decided that's better for me in regards to my third goal because it means I spend less time on my laptop. With that in mind I'm going to be doing 2 weekly updates instead. This is me two weeks into the challenge: Weight: 12 st 12 lbs - 12st 7lbs, a loss of 5lbs! Woo! Height: 5 ft 5 inchs - I'm not sure why I included this in the first place, it's not like I'm magically going to have a growth spurt. I certainly hope I don't get shorter. Measurements: Arms: 13 inchs - No change, no surprise. I'm trying to build muscle anyway. Waist: 32 inchs - No change, again no surprise. My stomach is the last place I lose weight. Hips: 42.5 inchs - 41 inches, I can get down with that. Bum: 44 inchs - 43 inches, yea you know I'm shaking that groove thang! Legs: 22 inchs - 21.5, a small difference but a difference none the less. This is another area I'm trying to build muscle. As for my goals: 1. FRUIT! FRUIT! FRUIT! (Nutrition) Not doing so well with this, it's like my stomach refuses to eat fruit in the morning and grumbles for something else. I have been eating fruit later in the day though, but not consistently. I need to pick a time of day to eat my fruit and force feed myself. 2. Curb Cocoa's Cravings. (Nutrition) I've eaten a lot less chocolate, and often manage days without it but every now and then Cocoa takes over and I have no say in the matter. I'm working on it. 3. Get off the damn laptop and get outside! (Fitness) I have to admit this has been the easiest goal for me to achieve. I've been swimming, running, cycling and going to the gym at least three times a week. I'm super proud of myself! 4. Become a Ninja! (Life) I've been lacking in this department, like seriously lacking. Like I haven't done a single cartwheel since we started. Bad Mother of Dragons. I'm still determined to do this though. It's just too cool not to! â€Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!â€
  8. Slow and steady, best advice yet. I've been rocking the exercise but not doing so well with my other goals. I'm pleased I've managed to become more active and there's still time for me to turn the tides!
  9. I'm a major GoT fan! I'm loving the TV Series. I think it adds a rather unique touch to the world created in the books. I've been sucking on the cartwheeling but I'm determined to motivate myself before this challenge is over.
  10. I haven't been doing so well with the cartwheeling, I just haven't pushed myself to go out and do it. There's still time!
  11. Wow, go you, seems like you're doing great on the water front. Wish I could say the same for me. Sorry to hear about your shins, how are they doing now?
  12. Hi, I've been following Steve's advice for a while now but not actually doing anything about it. I think that's a good idea with the walking though. One of the first things I do in a morning is turn on my laptop and it's a terrible habit. I might give that a try!
  13. Hi, I think Lui Kang's bicycle kick would be a tad too hard... haha! I'm interested in learning some other moves though, think I might join a martial arts group. And I love being called Khaleesi
  14. Hey Fall, I haven't checked in at all in the last three weeks, so I wouldn't worry about that too much. I've also been struggling with my goals. I will admit I've eaten a lot more fruit and less chocolate but I haven't been doing it according to my goals. I have been exercising at least three times a week but have done no cartwheeling. It's a mind set really and it's something you need to ease yourself into. Even if you find at the end of the six weeks you only managed to adhere to one goal, I still think that's an achievement. Three weeks to go. There's still time to pick yourself up again!
  15. Looks like you're doing great! Keep it up! RAVENCLAW! RAVENCLAW!
  16. Hello! I think you have some great goals here but I think you need to be a bit more specific as to how you are going to achieve them. What steps will you take day to day to get there? I'm rooting for you! TEAM RAVENCLAW!
  17. Hi, I've been doing exactly the same thing, creeping around NF and not actually doing anything to change my habits. I love your goals, I'm a runner myself and I'm actually training for the Race for Life 5K run at the moment. Let's do it together!
  18. Hi, great goals! I love swimming and I love reading. I measure swimming by how many lengths I can do in a certain amount of time. As for reading, DO NOT read the Fifty Shades Series, they're terrible. Worst drivel I've ever had the misery of suffering through. I'd be happy to make some recommendations if you have a a specific genre you like to read?
  19. Hey, congrats on your first run. I'm a runner myself and can do 5km in under 40 minutes currently. Believe me it does get easier, you just have to fight through the wall! Keep it up!
  20. I'm forever trying to learn and experience new things, Ravenclaw is definitely the house for me. This is my first challenge too and you can also find my challenge in my signature.
  21. If having an old photograph of yourself crop up on FB, looking really fat and embarrassingly out of shape, isn't reason enough to do this challenge, I don't know what is.
  22. Hi, I took some inspiration from your post. It's rather entertaining and motivational so I decided to re-write my post with yours in mind. I feel a lot more excited to be doing this now. Thanks for the support.
  23. Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it. ~ Raymond Chandler Hello, Like most, I've been struggling with weight and self esteem issues for years now and I've simply had enough. I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin. Watch me do this thing! Weight: 12 st 12 lbs Height: 5 ft 5 inchs Measurements: Arms: 13 inchs Waist: 32 inchs Hips: 42.5 inchs Bum: 44 inchs Legs: 22 inchs Goals: 1. FRUIT! FRUIT! FRUIT! (Nutrition) I do not eat enough fruit, and the Paleo Diet doesn't accomodate for cereal so I intend to eat a reasonably sized bowl of fruit for breakfast everyday. I'm vegetarian, thus meat is not on the menu and I tend to eat eggs for lunch. Grading A - 100% - My skin is glowing. B - 75% - I really needed a crumpet. C - 50% - I'm a Crunchy Nut. D - 25% - I had a banana once. E - 0% - What is fruit? CON +1 2. Curb Cocoa's Cravings. (Nutrition) There's a monster living inside me and his name is Cocoa. Cocoa loves chocolate, much like Cookie Monster loves cookies. Unfortunately for me, this means I eat a bar of chocolate, sometimes more, a day to satisfy him. The more I eat, the more he wants, which is simply unacceptable. As part of my challenge I intend to abstain from chocolate during the week and allow myself a small treat on weekends. Grading A - 100% - Cocoa moved out. B - 75% - Cocoa had a bad day. C - 50% - Cocoa had a seriously bad day. D - 25% - Cocoa want chocolate, Cocoa eat chocolate. E - 0% - Cocoa went to the Cadbury Land. 3. Get off the damn laptop and get outside! (Fitness) As a writer, my job requires me to spend an awful lot of time in front of my laptop meaning I do very little to no exercise and have thus developed 'writer's bum'. Generally, I tend to dine with my laptop too and have developed a loving relationship with it as such. Seeing as this is a rather toxic relationship for me I think my laptop and I need to take a break. I will do this by leaving the house at least three times a week to partake in some form of outdoor exercise that lasts 30 minutes or more. Grading A - 100% - My laptop needs dusting. B - 75% - I updated my status on Facebook. C - 50% - My twitter followers were begging for a retweet. D - 25% - I was scrolling tumblr for five minutes I swear. E - 0% - What's this outside you speak of? STR +1 DEX +1 STA +1 4. Become a Ninja! (Life) I'd like to be able to do something awesome and as a massive fan of Mortal Kombat, I've always wanted to learn how to fight like Sonya Blade. I do eventually plan on taking up an MMA class but for now one particular move that I'm interested in is the aerial kick. Although it's not one of Sonya's moves, I still think it's cool. Anyway, my plan is to learn how to do this, starting with a left handed cartwheel. I can do a right handed cartwheel really well and generally speaking an aerial kick is simply a no handed cartwheel so I'm going to start with the basics. I will practice left handed cartwheels for fifteen minutes 3 times a week until I can do it as well as a right handed one. If I manage to do this before the 6 weeks are up I will then practice one handed cartwheels with both arms using the same time frame. Grading A - 100% - I am a cartwheel master. B - 75% - I'm stumbling a little but I'm almost there. C - 50% - Left handed cartwheels are hard. D - 25% - There's a reason I'm right handed. E - 0% - I don't have a left hand. I'd appreciate any help or advice anyone is willing to offer me.
