  1. Thanks Squeege! Hope your last week has been dominated! Check In: Prehab: I decided to sub in Crossfit workouts instead of Prehab. I was just getting bored! I did 2 Crossfit workouts this week, and I'm stoked to be back in it! Sword in Nature: Fell off of this horse lol. Guess I don't get points for this... Meditation: I fell behind this week, if I can do 20 mins today and 20 mins tomorrow, or just 40 mins tomorrow, I'll have redeemed myself. Courting the Girlfriend: This one has been pretty easy, thanks to modern technology. If I wasn't around to give a backrub, I sent a thoughtful text. Easy!
  2. Sorry on the massive delay! I've mostly been keeping up, though Faturday is not as blissfully fun anymore. I've got to watch it; last time I had an In'N'Out meal, I was in serious pain for a few hours! I guess that's a good sign though lol. Check In: Prehab: I only missed one workout so far, otherwise I'm still on track. Sword in Nature: I fell way behind on this one, haven't practiced sword in the past 2 weeks. I have started getting into longboarding by the bay though. Ugh somehow gotta get myself back on the horse here. Meditation: Best of the challenges! There were times where I'd miss a day by accident, and be sure to make up that 5 mins the very next day. Courting the Girlfriend: This one is getting pretty challenging now. The times we see each other make this easy, but she's now over the halfway point in bar prep and I'm hard pressed for original ideas. I suppose consistency matters, so as long as I offer an encouraging word I'll be okay here. Still finding opportunities here and there though- brought her a flower and a compliment today
  3. Don't worry, I'm still on course with all the goals! I was considering doing this diet starting on the next 6 week challenge but I just decided what the hell, I want to lose as much body fat as I can right now! It might have also been the realization that my girlfriend is studying for the Bar Exam, doing Crossfit, and eating super healthy... so I have no excuses! By the way, Saturday (a.k.a. Faturday) was GLORIOUS! I ate an ice cream sundae, the Fatty Arbuckle Meal at In N Out (DoubleDouble, Large Choco Shake, Animal Fries), and I drake half a bottle of vodka chased with sodas... and gained no weight the next day LOL! I'm still on the diet and while it's challenging, I looked at my Bodyfat percentage compared to last month and I lost 4%! Wooohoo! Check In: Prehab: Still on track, all the testing is done so now I'm just doing the strength-building phase. Monday & Friday, 30-45 mins- Fixing Half-kneeling Chop&Lift, 60lbs TurkishGetUps, 16kgs 1SDL, 35lbs 2:5 ratio of sets for strong:weak sides and a repetition range of 3-5. (ie. 2 sets of 3-5 reps on the strong side, 5 sets of 3-5 reps on the weak side) Keep weight the same for strong and weak sets, and decrease reps if unable to complete all weak sets. Sword in Nature: I fell behind last week with only 1 session. I've since used Google Maps to locate several parks/open areas to practice. After I visited my gf tonight, I did my first sword session by the beach and it was quite centering. I might combine these with meditation, as added incentive to go get it! Meditation: I've been kicking butt with this! I've not missed a day, and done at least 5 mins, often more. Courting the Girlfriend: I'm also keeping the pacing here; been initiating more intimate and thoughtful conversations via text/phone, washed her car at the car wash over the weekend, and brought her a freshly plucked rose tonight. I still feel like I can up my game, or at least diversify in some way... any suggestions are welcome!
  4. Great job on the running, keep the consistency and you will notice compounding gains! And don't worry about the food cheat day, you need that sometimes... lord knows I do after starting this 6-day-per-week Slow Carb Diet!
  5. That's what I like to hear, bouncing back in action with good form! Keep it up!!
  6. I feel your pain on the meal planning; I just started the Slow Carb Diet during my challenge (no points for this, sadly) and it's a lot of work to buy, prep, cook your meals in advance! If my dumb-ass can shlep this together, I'm sure you will do it with style, grace, and deliciousness
  7. It sounds like you're rocking everything else, so I'll speak to this trouble point. I'm EXACTLY the same way, I hate getting up before 7! One trick has been helping me with this lately... if you can force yourself to go to bed earlier the night before (like, at least an hour earlier than you usually would), and down an entire glass of cold water before you do so, you may be pleasantly surprised how your body clock responds the following morning. No guarantees, just a suggestion! When do you usually go to bed?
  8. Grats on the medal and brew! I feel like that itself is worthy of a level up, or at least an Achievement Unlocked: Catch Me If You Can!
  9. It's a tough goal to tackle, so don't worry about a cheat day/meal once in a while! As long as you're consistant with your once-in-a-while 'allowance', you can follow your rules and make it! I'm actually learning this myself with the Slow Carb Diet.. thank god for my cheat day on Saturday a.k.a. Faturday!
  10. Heyo! What's the status on everything?
  11. So, I went ahead and did something foolish: I started a diet on top of all these challenges. I don't think I get any points for it, and it's harder than all of these challenges combined. I'm on Day 3 of the Slow Carb Diet, and all I can think about is murdering all of the things... Check In: Prehab: Tested today (since I forgot I had something in my schedule yesterday), and will begin training in full on Thursday and Saturday. So far I'm still meeting my goal of 2/3 times per week. Sword in Nature: I'm scheduled to go Wednesday and Friday this week, keeping me on my goal. Meditation: Still keeping the pace, been doing bigger sessions ESPECIALLY since the start of this diet. @Squeege I've been a little sporatic with the timing because the schedule keeps changing, I think the evenings tend to work best for me though. I'm doing mobile app research for my game developing initiative, and like to meditate before getting down to business Courting the Girlfriend: did all the fun things this weekend, have been sending her poetic expressions of my love, and using my fancy patter on the telephone. She's going to cook me a diet-compatible dinner on Friday, and I need to reciprocate that awesomeness... GOD I can't wait for my cheat day on Saturday! Gonna nom all the things!!!
  12. At least you're keeping up with the tracking though! There are many studies showing that tracking alone will help limit calorie intake over the long haul just because of confronting that fact so often. No matter what, just keep tracking. And fantastic job with the other goals! Keep it up for Week 2!
  13. How is running in Houston? Grats on the lifting, take that inner brat!
  14. Where are you at with the challenge? Let us know how it's going
  15. Keep it up you can do it! BTW are you juicing to get the micronutrients from fruits and veggies? I just watched Fat Sick and Nearly Dead on Netflix, it's a great documentary on juicing and it's funny too!
