  1. Roommate bought brownies, swiss rolls, and a gallon of ice cream for the apartment. Thank you, Luke, for making this EVEN HARDER ON ME.
  2. On Father's Day, I broken down and had a mini milk shake from Sonic. And it wasn't even worth it. Now I know. But that still means I'm down to a C for that goal. I've kept up w everything else pretty well. I've given up walks for weights... something that seems more productive. Here's what I did yesterday with my dumbbells: Biceps A - 3 sets of 10 reps Biceps B - 1 set of 10 reps Triceps 1 - 3 sets of 10 reps Triceps 1/2 - 3 set of 10 reps Chest Press - 5 sets of 10 reps Back/shoulder/lift thingies - 5 sets of 10 reps All done w/ 15 lb dumbbells. Going to try to move up on some categories to 20lbs next week. Also practicing my squat, I think I almost have it down pat.
  3. Thanks, I-Jo! Sounds super easy AND helpful! Thanks for the explanation!
  4. Easy mac and a banana for lunch today! Not fantastic, I know, but better than the cheese dog and root beer float that I'd REALLY like to have! Going to trade my Friday lunchtime walk for checking out the Kentuckiana Pride Parade tonight. It's downtown, so I know I'll be walking at least a few blocks in order to park. Besides, I'm fighting a blister from my walk on Wednesday. Still have no clue what I'm submitting this week for publication. Writing something new is out of the question, considering I haven't started anything yet. Aiming to revise one of my short stories and submit that, since I did poetry last week. We shall see. Have a great weekend!
  5. I will have to google some of those! Thanks so much, Waldo!
  6. Thanks, Bolson32! Still working on perfecting my squat!
  7. I'm new to strength training. Starting off with some dumbbells and body weight exercises, but I'd like to target my lower back. I have a history of lower back pain due to (I think) weak back muscles which hold my spine in place. What are some good moves I can do with just my body weight and/or dumbbells to strengthen this area? All advice is welcome and appreciated! Thanks! GinThePoet
  8. Doing pretty well, yes. I'm dealing with some serious ice cream withdrawals, but as long as it's not in the house, I'm fine. Found some no-calore, no-sugar sweet tea that I've been drinking when I get a craving for something other than water. Haven't missed another meditation yet, so I'm good on that front. Completed 2/3 walks for this week. Even beginning a weigh-lifting routine with my boyfriend. No idea what I'm doing for my submissions yet this week... Definitely have to get that done tomorrow!
  9. Missed 2 meditations this weekend. Gr. Down a letter grade there. Keeping up well with everything else tho. Getting tired now, but not discouraged! Gotta keep at it!
  10. Ah, the end (well sort of, it's Friday!) of Week 1! I've completed all of my tasks for the week, including 3-30 minute "move" sessions (took my last walk today on my lunch hour) and submitted 6 poems to UQ for publication. I've been very good about no sugar this week (drinking a lot of unsweet tea!) and I haven't missed a meditation yet. Just gotta keep it up through the weekend Hope everyone else is still holding strong! Have a wonderful weekend!
  11. Wow, good luck with the 5 push-ups goal. My own upper body strength needs some serious improvement. You reminded me that I need to make one of my goals for the next 6-week challenge to do ONE real pushup! Keep up the good work!
