  1. Ah, time slip! Sorry for the brief delay again guys, with the academic year etc starting and leaving my job I got a little sidetracked. Also my mother had quite a bad injury from pressure pot with burns on her chest, neck and arms. She's been in hospital, she's also caught an infection from it, but I think we're all just glad she is alive. I stuck to my goals, just need to catch up on y'all threads. Deftona, I'm scared just seeing how many pages I'll be sifting through for yours xD I'm hoping to take exercise to the next level and trial a sports or martial arts class. Should be good hopefully. Thx for all the lovely replies btw, I'll get to answering them soon too!
  2. Kinda sucks but ah well, we all know this isn't above you. Moments like these are good imo as they allow you to flex out of your comfort zone and be observent/mindful/bring awareness in what we do. This is definitely what I like to do as it ensures that I don't ever get complacent or take my routine for granted. Just embrace and enjoy! :-)

  6. Hi! It's okay thanks, I would say it's inbetween the Level 2 and 3 workouts in those NF workouts. Getting there, but not quite the level 4+ as i was before. I'm using some kettlebells/dumbbells but it's mostly bodyweight and jogging. Work does have me being pretty active though, hence why I have to 'discount' time from it sometimes, cause most of the time it's easy to come back from a long day and go "*sigh* I don't feel like it"So if you're given a 10min discount, you end up saying "*sigh* I don't feel like it. But I'm going to do it anyway!" My mind can try to talk itself out of an exercise, but it can't talk itself out of a discount! Yay consumerism! xD T2 I have missed you so much as well! I remember the fun days of hearing about your home improvement/innovative garage sales in additioin to the song/lyrics game! (and all the tarantino love!) Haha lovin' the Dwayne Johnson love happening atm! ;-) Heya Ash! I miss you (and swampling!) so much! And I STILL IOU that belly dance. Once I get back my xbox from my nephew as he's taken it (again) I'm going to totally do that! Going to visit your thread and hope all's well! :-) Greetings!   8. Ah Lara you're such a champion! I hate those sorts of situations grinding/replaying in your head all day. They can be such a drain, but you completed parried and flipped all that on its butt! ;-), the obstacle is indeed the way!
  9. Sorry to hear some people don't even have basic manners KorN :-/ As for the second job, sounds like a plan, that environment really doesn't sound healthy. Any steps to progress or change that environment should hopefully be a huge a step up. Definitely worth preparing/saving up if you're unable to in the short term. "Do what you can, with what you have, where you are" :-)
  10. Excellent goals Sarah! I approve of your fasting strategies for sure, that's so awesome to here! And congrats on day 1! :-) P.s. Are you doing warrior fasts (24hr), by the sounds of it are you only eating once a day in the evening? Doing that daily is doable, but don't hesitate to dial it down if it's too much or change the pattern to avoid repetition + make the routine sustainable. Nice to hear all's swell! Keep kicking A!;-)

As someone who's also gone through some ups and downs through my academic history and have struggled through some dark times and family drama during, I can kinda relate to how hard and stressful being in the thick of it all can be. Great challenge list too. Oh big fan of avatar legend of anger here too, but believe it or not, I have only seen like half of korra season 1 :-O sacrilege I know! Seems like you're getting into the swing of things, awesome! Hope the trend continues! :-)

  14. Hello Newcomers! Greeting from the UK fellow adventurers, you can call me Iggy! ;-) To those who don't know me: I'm 25 years old, and I came to NF around 2 years ago because I was really ill and unhappy because of what living with asthma/well-over BMI affect my quality of life and approach with work and enthusiasm. That all has changed since last October, as I managed to reach neutral BMI for the first time + control my asthma after a 1 year+ of creating a sustainable/fun routine, and all thanks to the amazing NF community who guided me (and chewed through my winded-out posts!) challenge to challenge to make that happen. It transformed me, and it was a amazing/humbling experience. And even today, 11 months on, it's has stayed that way. My BMI is still neutral, I am so much happier and face my work with considerably more enthusiasm then before, improved other aspects of life, and I can't imagine living any other way. Coming back after quite a hiatus (and only reading a few posts here and there) it's great to see so many passionate people undertake their epic quests. And to those that do know me, you're probably asking something along the lines of: "Hey, it's been 9 months, what gives?!?" Current stats: 29/08/2016 167.2lbs F: 15.9% M: 41.8% This challenge presents: The Road to v3.0. October 28th is when I reach Update v3.0. This might all sound really confusing to newcomers, but it basically means that every year I set myself some big goals to reach and attain for. I'm really happy how v2.0 to v3.0 has gone so far, and I just cramming in as much as I can in order have the best update list ever to look back on! :-D Challenge Goals: (goal clarification pending!) 1: Continue current healthy eating regime and also include 2x simple 16/17hr fasts a week. 2. 30mins of exercise everyday for 6 days a week. Switch between strength training and running. If I did a lot of walking/physical movement at work, then i can give myself a 10min discount off my exercise session! 3. Set a challenge every week and complete it by the next week. Week 1 is exploring every visual design-based medium I can. Thanks everyone, and to your kind messages during the tough times, great to be here again! Going to probably go to bed soon as I feel a little exhausted writing this tbh xD Glad I finally got around to doing this, typos and all... Now for some peace...

Just catching up on the last few pages, really sorry to here that you've had a rough few months, but on the other hand SymphonicDan said (nice to see you again bud!) you've made an excellent amount of progress in the past few months, and I'm sure you will soon see the benefits of all this hard work shaping up soon... Also, whichever day you do achieve that push-up (and it will happen!) I'm going to be partying too, hell, I'm going to instantly make that day a funday too! I hope to see you through your exercise plateaus too, I too have had an on/off year in this department, where I feel I haven't pushed myself enough, and in the process, I've lost my ability to do a proper pull-up! :*-( We're going to work and see it that we can do what we set our mind (and body) to. Don't forget how awesome you are as well as the people you inspired! :-)

And sorry to hear about your poor foot, it's definitely annoying when that happens :-/ I was (and have) been thinking of you and your epic journey/progress lately. About a month ago at work we had an international intern who was Spanish (from Barcelona). She was really nice and her challenges reminded me of you in a lot of ways, which much of her struggles regarding food and fitness. She too felt she was underweight and she always aimed to eat more and get stronger. She recently made the shift to go from vegetarian to including meat as it was starting to have a negative impact on her body and health. Unfortunately though more health complications came in her way and with the inability to work to many weeks she was refused any support/funding and she had to leave, which was the last I saw of her ïŒ. A real shame because she was really good/talented in her role and offered a unique perspective. As always, you’re so awesome Lara! Despite my hiatus I have been meaning to say that and how you’ve been really motivating and you haven’t been forgotten. Thank you so much for every bit of support you’ve given to me to reaching/maintaining neutrality. I can’t imagine to think how much more amazing you’ve become since! p.s. gotta do things the old fashion way and end my post with an a-ha song xD p.p.s did you hear? They totally got back together! Lol they were trolling us when they said they were separating for good xD take care and boss this week! x
  17. Ah man :-( I've also overseen just how difficult it is to do all the things I aim to do towards the end of the year. Harder to wake up in the cold, the daylight going, s.a.d kicking in, the mellow-ness of many people around, festivities lure/hype, (not to mention surprises around the corner) yeah it's challenging :-/ Still though, maybe tomorrow/next week you'll feel better/refreshed to chip away some of the challenge benefits, right? :-) Sent from my Satellite A660 using Tapatalk
  18. Hi everyone! Has it really been a week? o.0 I've been living under a rock a.k.a internet-less, our area been undergoing some technical-changeup and there had been a screwup... twice :-/ Also, my phone screwed up due to an insanely buggy os which isn't cooked yet, but that was my fault lol and for now I've got it to run every 48hrs without (many) issues. Challenge for the most part is going well, though I've been feeling a little low these past few days, probably due to the lack of internetz (seriously, I felt like I experienced major withdrawals without it! *gasps* I've spent my time reading more of my books and doing more of my work and generally being more focused and productive, internet, how DARE you do that to me! xD Now I can be a little less productive. but hopefully I won't return binge-surfing like I have in the past when internet's been scarce. Seriously though, the past week has done me some good. I don't think I realised just how distracted I get and how that just makes being productive a lot harder. Normally when you wake up, I get straight into our connected life by looking at rss new feeds, twitter timeline which escalates to e-mail, youtube videos, and then before you know it, you're locked in. Today I had my internet back, but I just treated it like a 'fast' for the whole day because honestly, I knew the old internet-habit would creep right back in and I'd get less done and less motivation as a whole. It sucks, and I definitely need more discipline in this area then I thought. I just accepted this way of life as a whole because I thought that's what people today just do, but this has all definitely got me thinking. Okay, I'm a little over a week behind on everybody, better start catching up! :-p See you all soon! p.s. The book I've been reading is called "The Obstacle is the Way" by Ryan Holiday. It's fan-freaking-tastic, just what I've needed in my life, good old anti-fragility and stoic perspectives from history.

Congrats on facing the anxiety head on and putting it on it knees (@ItsDaniel DON'T!), seriously though, those first steps are hard but they're going to be invaluable when you face things again and you think back to how you faced things prior and how you've progressed. Really proud of ya! :-) Also, great first week as a whole! I'm glad you made it a no-bending rules (seriously @ItsDaniel, STOP IT! xD) a part of the challenge, it really is a challenge of its own (1 week in and I've already been tinkering around!) and no doubt is it going to be helpful going forward. It may even help you with inventing an entirely new stat tracking system (I know that stats is a part of your DNA) you'll figure out what works/the right challenge! In my experience, some systems may seem batsh*t crazy one at one stage, but then totally valid once you've built up enough momentum and consistency with it or something else.   20. Hey everyone, been a little preoccupied recently, time for an update! The remainder of last week went well overall, here's the rundown: Goal 1: CPU 0 (Total = 0) Goal 2: POWER +1(Total = 3) Goal 3: ENERGY +1 (Total = 56) Side Goal: GHZ +1 (Total = 1) Did well in 3/4 of them, though for CPU (tasks) I only was able to do 4/6 in the end, was close (and I got more done in a week and effortlessly than usual, which is certainly progress) but newer tasks introduced themselves in the week which weren't on my list. What I've learnt from this week having (at the very least) 3 difficult tasks to work on (which are set in stone) and 3 normal tasks that are either completed or place-holders for whatever may come up during the week that's of higher priority. I'm going to try it this way this week. In terms of the other categories I have, I've managed to raise up the levels of some of them too! (like .EXT and Output!) A good start to the challenge! Hopefully week 2 will be flawless (so far, so good!) ... This Sunday Funday was all about embracing the dark side! I had homemade moccha, cornflakes+nuts+honey and honey, some chocolates, and a chapati wrap with some REAL mince that my mom gave me, saag and mozzarella. Cetainly felt liek I had an abundance of energy the rest of that day + monday! xD Spent some quality time with parents too, other than helping them out, we actually had some quality time together, we watched war horse which was on TV (they haven't seen it, this was my 3rd time watchin' it) great day! :-) ... Monthly Diagnostics v2.1: Also, it's officially been 4 weeks since reaching my goal weight! I've reached v2.1! vX.1 is a special number for me. Starting at the very beginning of something new/different is not easy for me. Like New Years, there's just too much expectation that's placed by oneself to go through with it and I often find that the general template/approach with that doesn't bode with any type of experimentation/failure well. It's often not about making progressive steps, but rather "flipping a switch" as soon as it's the 1st Jan into a brand new person and lifestyle, you know what I mean? That's what being at v1.0 and 2.0 was like, because you're paving way for ideas and approach, it's a very sensitive time, one which is very vulnerable to relapse if you're not careful. You're experimenting, trailing different things, and it all comes to working hard again on knowing where you want to go by forming new goals + growing new habits + making changes and refining things. That's often a lot to ask for anyone trying something new, and going into v2.0 a month ago, that's what I felt like. I knew I had to have my wits about me. Many people who are close to me don't struggle to get there, but struggle to stay there. Obviously, with all this 'maintenance palaver' being knew to me, I closely monitored what I could and couldn't do these past 4 weeks. First couple of days in, I was anxious with the idea that I wouldn't weigh myself for a month, so I had to reason why I put that rule there in the first place, and then changed that to weekly weigh-ins, but with only documenting it every 4 weeks. This helped me out a lot, I could see how I was progressing at a brief glance, but not obsessing over specifics, it was about being + or - with BF% and M%, that's it. So, how did I do? Well, 19/OCT/2014: 174.6lbs, Body-fat%: 18.4% Muscle%: 40.8% 16/NOV/2014: 172.8lbs, Body-fat%: 17.3% Muscle%: 44.8% The above stats means that I've officially PASSED my first month into the maintenance lifestyle, woooooh! I especially pleased because I didn't have any bowel-movement during the weigh-in (TMI, I know) so above is definitely added weight, I remember being 171.8lbs the week before! Also, my muscle percentage has gone up tremendously being I've been consistent with it as well as pushing myself harder. I'm pleased with the outcome of that too! :-) (Didn't realise the jump until I made the comparison between the two just now!) as well as body-fat. ... Thanks again for your support everyone! As mentioned above, going from v2.0 to v2.1 was quite a challenge (no doubt it must be soul-crushing for those who've experienced heavy weight fluctuation), I really wanted to suss out what was my personal maintenance/management plans and goals were going forward, it's a lot to think about but I got there, and most importantly, I won't stay there, I'll keep moving forward, be consistent and continue to make progress! But it certainly feels good to be where I am right now. Healthier and fitter than ever before! And you lot have helped me find the right direction throughout this jounrney, and from v2.1 onwards, at least I can now have some peace of mind knowing that I've properly adjusted and set-up for the long-haul, again thanks to you! :-) For v2.25 (a.k.a by the end of the year), I aim to accomplish many more of my personal goals and make haste with them! :-) Thanks for reading, I'm be sure to catch-up with you all later today and tomorrow (and message some of you personally, because you really ought to know how much you've done!)

  25. OMG I forgot about the Xmas markets, although the thing I use to enjoy most was it the (extortionate) food. Last year wasn't so bad, I tagged along with company but otherwise I think there's less incentive to have a dqy out and go, especially in the blistering cold... *brrrr* Ah, I've heard of borderlands, it's FPS which isn't my kinda thing but there's like an adventure spin-off game of it coming out too (which IS my thing!) isn't there?
