  1. Agreed, how's all in world of Deftona? Missing your upbeat posts... :-)
  2. Hi everyone! To update, week 4 has gone pretty well, although I did miss a interval jogging session yesterday, I was swamped with other priorities, so I aim to do it today with a mini-workout. Mon: 24hr Fast. Tue: No fast Wed: 19hr Fast Thu: No fast Fri: (Pending: Aiming for 24hr fast) Healthy Eating: Going really well Challenge 1: Defeated another trooper, will cross it off the checklist... Swing of Things: With the exception of missing yesterdays interval jogging, all is swell. Exercise: Going well, I even did a 5min belly-dancing session just for good luck @AshPS ;-)... Thank you! You're an inspiration too! :-) We're going to rock this, every single lb... Hope to catch up with all of you tonight! :-) p.s. Tried the new whey protein... yuck!

Congrats on that pull-up! AWESOMESAUCE! I'm still miles away from one, but maybe I'll get there in another ten years or so... Thanks Swampy! Just remember, if I managed to get it clocked within a year, you can do it waaaay within that time! :-) Just keep on top of the *wait for it* http://youtu.be/okuHBOvC_m8?t=1m29s Sarah Barr, on 03 Oct 2014 - 3:46 PM, said: ______.o.______ \o/ -> -> \o/ (That was supposed to be you doing a pull up, I'm not sure if that was a particularly good illustration of a pull up but there you go!) Also AWESOME! \o/ Haha thanks! I gotta say I initially saw two people getting abducted by a UFO, and quite strangely, Johnny-5's eyes!
  14. Haha thanks, best do this again then! :-) Thanks King! :-) "I now know what I must do, PERFECT THE ART BELLY-DANCING!!!1" Wow, I'd bet a lot of people I know would bet their life that I don't have this super secret closet intrigue for belly-dancing. What a world! xD Thanks! Yeah, I'm going to be an adventurer for a while longer, but I do have aspirations for joining the assassin's guild in the future... Thanks! :-) *hugs* thanks! Haha thanks, but I've got to say, it is YOU WHO IS THE MASTER OF UNLOCKING! xD #Barrywouldbeproud! Thanks Daytona! xD
  15. Thanks everyone! :-) The rest of last week went well, kept up with all the exercises and healthy eating regimes, and in terms of fasts, did 1x24hr, 1x24hr (Warrior), 2x Standard, 2 days normal. Sunday Diagnostics 05/10/2014: This week resulted in 0lbs loss in weight, which still puts my body-weight at 177.4lbs. My body-fat seems to be in a great place atm, at 18.7%, and my muscle is upped at 40.5%! Sunday was Eid (I realised this quite late!), so I had a good time at home and with the family, had a lot of nice things to eat. Monday I was out and about and busy, and ended up doing a 24hr fast even though I didn't intend to (likely because of the all the energy I got from the food on Sunday! xD) I didn't do interval jogging because all the walking was more than enough for that day. I also did some (much needed) shopping, and bought a shirt with vouchers I needed to get rid of (lol!), some essentials, and (after a real long time) a couple of gifts for myself going forward (which what I can spare financially atm). One of them was some protein powder (the soy one I had leftover is almost finished, thank freaking goodness!) and now I bought the best brand/type I could buy and it was pretty cheap from amazon (it's the Optimum Nutrition one that's 909g and 100% whey/chocolate) it cost £24.99, compared to H&B selling the exact same thing for £44.99! :-O #whatacon! Forgot to mention: Mid-last week, I bought organic apple cider vinegar and been drinking it (diluted of course, I'm not an animal!) and putting it on my face too. I've found it's really been helping in many ways, for example, I don't seem to have much of a build-up with sinuses, which helps a lot, and also my face is much more glowy and clearer/healthier. I also got my Xbox back (after many months) which is great (and yes @AshPS, I once again have belly-dancing facilities! xD), and the closing gap of this journey, I decided to spend it getting two kinect games which look pretty fun (and cheap!). I got UFC training for £3, and I bought another one called EA sports active 2 for £4. I was genuinely interested in the UFC one (it looks like it'll kick my ass!) and honestly, I only bought the EA sports active one because it contained a heart-rate monitor + resistance band (either one of those on their own cost more than £4! xD) and the game itself don't look bad (though I'm accustomed to yourshape!). Excited to return to the kinect games, they're a fun way to move and compliment an assortment of exercise regimes, and will likely keep me on the right track for cutting off this last 2.4lbs remaining. I've already learned from the past how I should never rely exclusively on something like this for multiple reasons (mainly the issue with over-reliance like a GPS, If I'm for some reason without it or if I move into a room that's not big enough, I don't want to be clueless). Besides, everyone needs to break the monotony with something, body-weight exercises and weights/bands just using a piece of paper and a timer too is still fun + super efficient! But I want to make sure that going forward, there are many fun ways to move! It's what I relied on a lot during the the beginning (this time last year) when body-weight routines were really quite difficult, and I'm using it again (+harder) now towards the end (almost like everything's coming full circle! :-) I'm intrigued to see how much my stats need updating from the last time + how well I'd fare at it. Anyways, that was an overly long discussion on all the exciting toys that I get to try, I'm just happy I got them cheap! Let's hope they don't disappoint, if so, back to yourshape + belly-dancing it is xD Looking forward to seeing what everyone's been up to + Fort William pics! :-p

  17. Hey Teros, Ah man, sorry to hear you're down the dumps. I know when there's so much going on it's all frustrating and there's no unified solutions to tackling everything, but seriously I think in some sense you and I share some similarly for the stuff that's happened in our lives, and I want to just give you my 10pence worth. This time last year, after going through many years of feeling like a failure for a variety of reasons (just a general sense of not doing as well as I liked in anything despite feeling like I was getting burnt out in many different things, as well as some actual failures/obstacles in many as of my life) this very day (3rd Oct) in 2013 I had been through too much and I had a ton more to approach and I just said "enough is enough". ...well, that didn't actually just come about like that, like I had it in me all along and just 'cared'. Living in a state of self-worthlessness and fear (in addition to handling criticism like my life was down the line, and caring WAAAAAY too much on what other people think) robbed most of my time. I'd sleep with the best intentions and clear mind, thinking that I'd genuinely approach the next day with change. Didn't ever really work out like that for me. After dealing with a severe case of burn out and treating myself like poop (and eating trash) I was just sinking down, and I'd say just a soulless person who lived to work. Since I was 14 I've been obsessed with the notion of tracking and automating my life, one way or another in order to observe progress. I used journals, but I never use to read them, they were too long + laziness ensued. A few years later, I got better at computers, and saw the potential, and I've had dozens of Iterations, with all eventually amounted to nothing, as my frustration with it having to be intrusive got in the way. I guess many of you may relate in the same sense that reading a self-help book may make you feel better, but only in the short term, and you're still not quite sure whether you still shirking or fear-ridden. But anyway, July 2013, and bam! I wanted to manage it all, and after doing a TON of personal research I made myself a personal spreadsheet, and with a help of a friend who's a mathematician, I managed to incorporate features I never knew was possible. + with a tablets being a thing, I could track during the day! This thing worked for better than anything in the past did, I managed to follow this spreadsheet for an entire month and a half! Waking up early, healthy eating habits (looking back, I was still misinformed on many things) exercise, running, working, studying, etc it was a perfect harmony... And that was my downfall. The system rewarded perfection, and when external pressures were pushing, I relapsed BAAAD, and there were no means of solution. Imperfect days set off a domino effect of more imperfect days. I felt my lowest at this point. I to shared many of the same feelings you wrote in the above post. I didn't want to live. I was very weak minded. During this time, I found out about NF, but was still a lurker. Reading Kamb's post helped. But were could I go? I felt like I gave it absolutely everything. What more was there to give? Spreadsheet sank like the titanic! But then, once I had some time to get past it, I tried again, because at the weight I was at on Oct 3rd, 2013 my illness and symptoms practically forced me to make a move. That, and I was seriously concerned on my lifespan with asthma this severe. And then, reading Kamb's articles I woke up in the night with a brilliant analogy and approach. You see, I had zero self-worth. I felt like I should care more after visiting / witnessing this lengendary stories from this place. I thought 'Bodyware and OS'! I'll use evernote! I will track sparingly, I will open myself to a community and have guidance. The of seeing myself as a machine was a fantastic feeling on a visceral level, it meant that I can actually appreciate myself and genuinely feel amazed, no matter what weight I was. I was living, breathing machine. I felt like a bottle-necked Windows 95 with malware installed everywhere, but I can fix that, and become a freaking alienware beast of a machine if I wanted! This is my realisation: everything stems from self esteem and worth. That may sound obvious, but I'd say it's more like appreciating yourself and specs and capabilities in a third person, free from judgement. That day, I knew I was onto something. I needed to focus on doing it and ensuring I had support from others who are more knowledgeable than me and who wouldn't judge size etc, and what better place than NF? Even though I was nervous/not much of a forum guy, I had to expose myself, picture progress, everything, otherwise I couldn't hold myself accountable. It made it possible! It's now been 365 days since then! And dude, at the time it was just a small, fragile of an idea, where if I was in the wrong mindset next day, could of dissipated. But you got to nurture a fragile idea like that in order the thrive off of it later. Nearly every situation and 87.6lbs less, I feel so different, and so thankful for that moment and that it happened. I learned and managed to do so much here than I could ever do on that flimsy spreadsheet, and while I still track, NF and having some self esteem (recommend a VIVID picture of it e.g. that dog on your NF posts wall xD) will remember what your fighting for. Take small steps (do you really want to do a spartan race so soon? How about other types of challenges? ) I've yapped for WAY TOO LONG, SORRY but I just wanted you to know, what are you genuinely passionate about, and how can yourself in the centre of that? You may not like the idea of bodyware/OS, but hey, how about being the ultra handy man? :-) We all love you here Teros, don't forget that, YOU MATTER! P.s. Sorry for spellings, I'm using a BlackBerry all-touch device, it doesn't get any funkier than that... :-/
  18. P.s. Not going to lie, but when I first saw that pic (without context), it looked to me like some weird amalgamation of a fish (obviously :-p) and *ahem* male 'protection'... xD Take care, hope you have a super duper fab time at the Fort! Wish I could've been there, but like Deftona said, (hopefully) next year! :-)
  19. That's such great news! Glad to see all's going well... :-)
  20. I've missed you! Glad to hear you're keeping well! :-) Ah man, sorry to hear about the wrist situation :-(, that sounds really tough, hope the PT's helping! Hang in there! :-) x
  21. Great post! Keeping preoccupied seems to be quite a fitting lifestyle for ya, it's interesting to know. I personally find it more of a challenge in most circumstances, thankfully, no so much now, but definitely PRE-NF IronGlider! While it may seem obvious, it's worth keeping in mind how you adapt to use it to your advantage! Yeah, I can see how tracking can make things difficult in that sort of scenario. Again, you'd know I'd go looney if I were to use kcal tracking. Nice to know your focus is still there for the main meal, that's a big win in my opinion! As you know, I primarily do this too. Congrats on the weight loss though, any win's a win, though I'm sure you were diligent and are just being super humble about it! :-) Take care!
  22. With your BARE HANDS?!?! T2Sarah, what does the scouter say about his manliness level? I'll leave you to fill the rest xD ... Homebrew methods FTW!
  23. Dude, not him state the obvious, but you're amazing man! :-)
