  1. Bubbette: I have a FitBit One, they are very cool little devices! You should definitely ask your husband to get you one
  2. Hi all! Sorry for the late update...I've been extremely busy but have felt pretty good about my progress on my goals so far! I only had one soda all week...it wasn't even because I was craving it and caved or anything like that, I was just out with friends and accidentally FORGOT my goal and ordered my soda like usual o_O I was mad at myself for slipping up like that but I got over it and I'm definitely trying to be more conscientious about my goals from now on! I strength trained 4 days last week. Unfortunately I didn't wear my FitBit all week last week because I left it at my sister's house, so I didn't get to count my steps for at least five days. Again, a reminder that I need to be more consciencious of my goals and remembering the tools I need to succeed! My FitBit is definitely on today My little extra goal for this week is to remember to wear my FitBit everyday so I can track my goals, as well as make more of an effort in the soda department whenever I am out with friends. Oh, and update on my money saving goal: I saved about $20 this week from just getting water instead of soda (yay!) and I've also planned an Indian Taco sale fundraiser for this Saturday to help my efforts as well! Thanks everyone for all of your support and I will try to post more often because I (hopefully) won't be quite so busy this week!
  3. Same here, Stubbs. My boyfriend has a decent home gym that he offfered to let me use, but instead I joined a gym just to avoid working out in front of him...weird how I'd rather work out in front of strangers than in front of him lol. Hopefully the further we progress in this challenge, the more confidence we'll obtain and we will be able to work out unashamedly in front of the world, including our boyfriends. Lol
  4. To The Zoolanders who are trying to give up soda...just remember...
  5. You have great goals Maring! you're going to do awesome on this challenge! And its always good to have strength and stamina as a musician...what kind of music do you and your band play?
  6. I love your tumblr food journal!! looks very paleo and very healthy, you're doing great!!
  7. I think your goals are great! I like how you're starting out with exercises that you know won't overwhelm you and are building your way up. I'm also trying to change my mindset about exercise from "have to" to "want to"...hopefully this wil happen at some point during the challenge!
  8. dlince: I'm happy you understood the reference and it made you laugh! (I was actually afraid no one would get it and would just think I was being conceited or something...) We've got some cool people on this team and I think we can all motivate each other to go hard the entire six weeks and be awesome and good looking while doing it!! As for tracking my goals...I liked Stubbs' idea of keeping a journal, so now I have a little notebook with a page for each day of the challenge, and at the top I have my goals. I plan on recording how my day went pertaining to each of the goals each day, that way I can keep track on a daily basis. I think I'm also going to have a "weekly wrap-up" page where I sum up my results from the week and give myself my grades. Let me know what method you settle on for tracking, and I'd love to hear everyone else's tracking methods as well!
  9. Stubbs, I am tracking my steps using a FitBit, which is like a pedometer on steroids!! Haha. It tracks steps, number of flights of stairs climbed, miles travelled, calories burned, and your activity throughout the day, and it can also track the efficiency of your sleep! It records all of the data online in easy-to-read charts, and also stores info like weight, body measurements, etc. They're a little pricey (mine was $99) but well worth it if you're seriously trying to track your activity or lose weight! If you're interested, let me know and I can send you the link to my Activity Log so you can check out how the data is displayed and how everything is measured!
  10. Hi everyone! Wow these are all great ideas on saving money, thanks everyone! Maring, I too thought about setting aside the money usually spent on soda and saving it to go towards the trip! I know that could really add up over the six weeks. I like your idea too, Stubbs! I actually just started a new job and am adjusting to the newfound income (I just graduated from college and haven't had a full time job since I was 16 lol) so over the next week or so I'll try tracking my expenses and see how much I need to save each week to reach my goal! The strength training program I am following is actually a free program I found at Bodybuilding.com (here's the link if anyone wants to check it out: http://www.bodybuilding.com/guides/female-teen-fat-loss/training). I liked this program because it can be done in a gym, it tells you exactly what to do on each training day (there are four training days a week with strength/cardio), and of course its free! I actually followed this program a couple of years ago with great results (-20 lbs) but unfortunately I fell off the wagon and haven't jumped back on since...until now! I really like the way strength training makes me look/feel, so I really want this six-week challenge to get me back on track with following a good strength routine.
  11. That sounds like a very fun mini challenge lol let us know what you think about it if you do get to watch!!
  12. Hi Maring! Your goals look great, challenging yet not impossible! Best of luck to you, so happy to have you on the team!
  13. Hi noileum! Hahaha, I better add Blue Steel to my list of exercises to do at the gym tonight or maybe I can just do Blue Steel the whole time I work out and freak people out a little bit. Lol
  14. Welcome Stubbs, its nice to meet you! I just looked at your challenge thread, you are doing AWESOME for the first day! Way to go! I love your idea about keeping a food journal, I think that's something I might try myself!
  15. So happy to be on your team hbombfool! i love the profile pic btw...i was a hardcore powerpuff girls fan when i was younger. Buttercup was my hero!! I too hope to lose some weight through this challenge...I've never done one of these challenges before, I'm super pumped to start and hope to keep up the momentum through the whole six weeks!!
