  1. We have had lots of rain. so weeding in between rain storms. Lots of potatoes growing in the planters! Self seeded from the crop from two years ago. The sky has finally cleared this afternoon in time for me to be away for the weekend.
  2. Much quieter week this week. Taking the evening off to relax and catch up with myself. Also catching up on sleep.
  3. Thanks Shrinkingviolet, Yes I managed to get everything done with some help. I owe my friend Mal a large bottle of whiskey for spending his free time getting covered in rockwool and brick dust in my loft. Hoping for a quieter time next week.
  4. Too busy this week. Total run down. Some how need to fit in cleaning the whole house, install loft insulation, run a craft workshop, show possible buyers around the house, have a house survey done and work 20 hours. All before 5pm Friday. The meditation goal is coming in handy. Stopping me from completely freaking out.
  5. Well done on week one. A quit caffeine and sugar completely every so often until I work a 14 hour day. The modern office just doesn't fit into the bodies natural ups and downs. I used to take a yoga mat to work and have a power nap at work in an empty meeting room at lunch. That really helped with the afternoon energy slump. "Insanity" Hows that going?
  6. Sounds like you are off to a great start. A lot of people under estimate the importance of sleep. NO way you can keep your motivation up or make sensible food choices when you are sleep deprived. At least thats my experience. I work earlies these days so I'm in bed before some of my friends have even thought about what to cook for dinner.
  7. Looks like a good set of goals. How are the steps going? Can you fit them into your everyday routine so you can't avoid it? I tend to save my favorite podcasts for workouts/gym/walks. so then I have to do the exercise if I don't want to miss my shows. Let me know if you want any recipe ideas. Have plenty of healther versions of "take out"
  8. Got out the wrong side of bed this morning. Really grumpy for some reason. Maybe its the cold grey weather. Planning an evening of light hearted computer games (Can't stay grumpy dancing aroung the living room to Vampire Weekend). Then a hot bath with a good book.
  9. Back from Church Brigade camp. Plenty of exercise running after 9 very active boys and girls. Come back with enough left overs, I don't need to food shop for a week or two.
  10. 8ish pounds left to lose. Not counting calories. Counting doesn't work for me. End up thinking way too much about food. I find doing 80% of my meals paleo works well. Gives enough flexibility. I'm in the process of selling my house and moving across the country to start a new job in London. So the gardening isn't so much growing things as getting rid of anything that will scare off buyers. Dug up my wonderful fruit and vegetable plot and put down a grass lawn Exercise wise the goals are less than I was doing before I got ill but want to ease into it. I got vertigo last year. Six months with my balance telling me I was on a boat in high seas was truely horrific. Can't manage a tread mill yet but at least I'm not using a walking stick any more.
  11. You haven't failed yet. Every step forward is one more step up that mountain to a healthier body.
  12. Great start yesterday. Beautiful sunny weather. Finished work early and spent the evening in the garden weeding and tidying. My legs and arms are feeling it today.
  13. #1 Loss weight. Get down to 9 stone 3 #2 Meditate. At least 5 minutes 5 times a week #3 Exercise. At least 3 half hour sessions of swimming, yoga, Pilates or wii. #4 Garden. Get out in the garden or outdoors. At least 3 half hour sessions in the garden or walking in the park.
