  1. Week 3 still doing well. Drinking lots of water and keeping track of all food. I like to have random dance parties in my room. And do lots of squats at random points in the day, like while I'm folding laundry I squat to take another item out of the basket. It's the little things. I've been working in the elementary school which is a lot of walking around and being on my feet all day which has been good. I also started volunteering last week. Doing paperwork and cleaning the dummies after the classes. Should be cool. Going to be going once a week.
  2. Week 2 went pretty well. Counted all calories. Had so much water. Have been using my infuser bottle with apples and cinnamon. And with frozen raspberries. It's pretty delicious. Went to gym once (on Monday) and did a little bit of exercise at home. Random body weight exercises. Went to the Red Cross to meet the people I will volunteer with. Going to be doing paperwork and inventory type stuff. I'm pretty excited. Start this Thursday. And now it's super cold and there's a huge snowstorm tonight. Which makes me want to do nothing but curl up in a blanket to keep warm.
  3. Week One Complete. Did great with water and mfp tracking. Everyday completed. Did not make it to the gym at all. I did work out a couple days at home, have to decide if I will count that as success. Weighed in at 148.6, tiny loss but in the right direction. Have a meeting this week with the Red Cross to hopefully start the volunteering soon. I'll be doing paperwork and cleaning in one of their offices which I'm pretty excited about. I love paperwork for some strange reason. Went to gym today which means week 2 is off to a great start =D Need to make sure I make it there at least once more. How was everyone's first week?
  4. Haven't gone to gym yet this week. But have been doing exercises in my room. Basic bodyweight things: squats, pushups, crunches and some cardio like jumping jacks. Been doing excellent on water. Got a new infuser bottle that holds 28 oz. So only need to refill fully once to get my goal. Can't wait to buy some fruit to make some flavored waters. Tracked everyday so far on mfp. Went over 1500 once because of a get together where there were delicious chocolate covered pomegranates. But I feel like I'm doing well. Weighed in at 149 lbs. How is everyone else doing?
  5. Have a goal on mfp as 1500 calories a day. Hopefully stay as close to that as possible, but more so want to count the days tracked.
  6. I joined this team on the spreadsheet. Tried in the summer and it did not go as well as hoped. But I am starting again and will do better.
  7. So I started one challenge last summer, did about 2 weeks and then stopped. Not sure why I stopped. Just kind of let it end. Not this time. Main Quest To increase overall fitness (strength and endurance) Missions/Goals - Will go to gym at least twice a week: will do cardio and strength on the same day. - Will drink at least 50 oz. of water: that is about 2.5 bottles which I believe to be very doable - Will track all of my eating on MyFitnessPal everyday: luckily no holidays/birthdays during this challenge so I won't worry about any party days. Side/Life Quest Will start volunteering, and looking for work. I have a biology degree and have been working as a substitute teacher because I am not quite sure what I want to do for the rest of my life. I have started the process of becoming a volunteer with the American Red Cross and hope to start soon. Motivation Want to not get so frustrated when shopping for clothes. And some of my friends are on their way to becoming super healthy and I would like to join in.
  8. This week was not good. Did mow lawns twice this week, and I use a push mower not a sit-down one so it is quite a workout. And it was more than an hour of work for each yard. But then I went to a friend's graduation party over the weekend. Ate and drank a lot. It was super fun but not good for my health. Onto another week. Hopefully it's better than the last. Tomorrow, I plan on mowing my lawn again since it should hopefully not rain. And then I start going to the gym more. Going to try at least 2 or 3 times a week, even if it's just for my 15 minutes of walking.
  9. I have been slacking again. Did look at a lot of job postings. And applied to two. Will soon have so much time because substitute teaching will not be needed in the summer. With all this time, I will hopefully be extra good going to the gym and looking for jobs and doing very excellent things. Was able to do 6 push-ups. Slowly, but surely I am getting better. I played horseshoes yesterday and, more often than not, couldn't throw all the way to the box. It stopped short pretty much every time. Means I need to work harder on strength. How is everyone else doing?
  10. Walked on treadmill again today. 1.05 miles in the 15 minutes. Little better than last time. And I did lots of strength machines. Had a great day.
  11. I have never seen the 7-min workout before. It looks fantastic. And your goals are amazing. I like the meditation, the goal and the first drill to meditate during eating. Seems to have worked well for you. I am intrigued by that book.
  12. I listened to the Pop Workout Station that's premade on pandora. Had some good tunes for my walk/run.
  13. I went to the gym today. Did treadmill for 15 minutes, ended up going 1 mile. Lots of work to do if I want to get my goal 2. Also did some arm machines and then a few pushups. Can do 5 in a row. Not much, but one better than the other day. I also looked at 2 job postings, 1 of which I applied to. Feeling good about the first few days.
  14. Bringing leftovers to work for lunch is genius. Saves lots of time in the morning, at least for me. So nice to have the extra already made the night before to just pack away. Happy that is has worked out so far. Excellent job. =D
  15. This summer, I already went to an Airborne Toxic Event concert. Coming up I have She & Him, Maroon 5 with Kelly Clarkson, and Fun. with Tegan and Sara. All have some really good songs for workouts and some that are terribly slow. I like lots of music. Lately, it's been Kate Voegele, Train, Maroon 5, Tyler Hilton, and Airborne Toxic.
