  1. Ran into a friend last week who went vegan four months ago and dropped TWENTY MINUTES off his already spectacular sub 4 hour marathon time. He told me that he lives on green smoothies. I gave one a try and am totally addicted. Totally refreshing, bright, filling and healthy feeling. 1-2 cups of raw spinach 1 cup of broccoli bits 1 apple 4 almonds -or- 1 TB chia bunch of ice water (to preference) Put in blender until desired smoothness. Drink up! 4 WW points. He wants me to add: kale, pomegranate juice, pineapple, and vegan protein powder but they muddy up the clean taste of this yummy treat. You can experiment. I am drinking 1/2 before my run, 1/2 after my run. Havent turned into a speed demon at all but I feel very virtuous.
  2. Oh my god! I'm buying both mugs for my daughter who is devoted to Sherlock and may well be a Cumberb--ch. On the topic of BBC I love, I still have the entire season of Twenty Thirteen on my DVR. The parallels between the show and reality are just too on point.
  3. So sorry. My dog is 15 and I know that her time is coming soon. Hope the last few days weren't too hard. Hang in there and go fight some Zombies. Nothing like taking out Zombies to vent some angst. Yes, I love Zombies Run. I turned a girl friend on last fall and she has stuck with it and set a lot of PR because she is so into the quests/adventures that she runs just to do the next episode. I am using the new Zombies C25K and really appreciated the very slow ramp up since I was returning to running after a long lay off. 30 seconds of running was just the right place for me to start! And I find myself resenting the rest days because I'm so anxious to do another episode! I've hit the hard part though... the 3 runs of 7 minutes straight. I think its going to be a while before I can actually do that. There is Season One, Season Two, and C25K.
  4. May I crash your party? I saw that other groups had added 8th members. When I saw TARDIS and BBC in the description I simply had to join in. It might help me get through my Who angst.
  5. Like many, I've been a NerdFitness fan who is finally jumping into the Challenge. My 6 week goals: 1. Complete Zombies Run 5K plan without injury. I LOVE ZOMBIES RUN! This game keeps me running. I did Season One last summer but am starting over this season. I'm on Week 5 of the 8 week plan but I'm hitting the tough stage where the walk/runs are becoming solid runs. I am prepping for a 5K at Yankee Stadium in MID-AUGUST (what was I thinking?) and it includes lots of stairs so there is a lot of work to do. 2. Strength Train 3X a week Figured out that core strength makes running easier. Going to try Angry Birds to start because its simple. My brother has encouraged me to try Nike+ Kinect so I'll mix that in.3. Eat clean 5 days out of 7. 4. Go on a date. I keep signing up for online dating but don't actually do anything about it. About to empty nest so it's really time to do this. The Boss Quest: I have a wedding to go to in August. Huge Score if I had a Plus One but I'd have to seriously get on the stick. Wish me luck! Could use the support of a good guild.
