  1. Hey all, I have a membership to 24 hr Fitness and am looking for a workout buddy. I prefer the Northgate gym as it's nicer. I can workout in the mornings or evenings. I would love someone who prefers to split their workouts 1/2 cardio, 1/2 weights/strength training. I would also like someone who's focused on eating healthy as I really need some accountability with that. I'm a 32 yr old female. I don't care if my sidekick is male or female.
  2. that's awesome that you had a great week!! Way to still make good food choices even when it wasn't easy or as convenient. Well done!!
  3. hi all, this is a pretty humorous website. Hope it gives you some giggles this week http://lolweightloss.tumblr.com/
  4. Well done with the goals!!!! Maybe try to just start with something small for the workouts? I know when I can't get motivated, sometimes it helps to scale back what I think I should be doing and just do something simple to get started. Hope the rest of the week goes well for you!
  5. My pleasure ladies!!! Just a quick mid-week updated: I have played so much outside this week!!! Frisbee, tennis, walking and another game of tennis planned for tomorrow. I've only had two drinks this week I've brought lunch every day. I'm feeling great so far and fingers crossed that I'll start to see some movement on the scale soon.
  6. Well, week 2 was better! I saw my doctor and a dietician this week which was really helpful. 1) I got my 4 workouts in!! Wed - 3 mile walk, Thurs - Salsa class, Fri - Salsa dancing for 3 hours, Sat - 10 mile hike 2) I had 6 drinks this week, but I stopped where I needed to which felt good to be in control. 3) I didn't bring my lunch two days last week, but I chose to eat at Subway one of the days, and a salad from Chipotle for the other, so I felt good that I made good choices when I did forget to pack a lunch. 4) I popped onto mint.com last week and finally went back through all my transactions that needed to be categorized correctly. Glad to have that done! All in all, week two was better. I'm hoping to keep up the momentum this week and continue with better choices. I'm not counting calories much, but instead my dietician wants me to ask myself "how do I want to feel after I eat?" every time I eat, and that has been helping me a lot! That, and eating more frequently to prevent starving and then stuffing.
  7. I've been down about my motivation as well, so I'm with ya. Did you get Steve's email today? It's a great read!! Gave me a little pep in my step. Hoping to make it to Zumba class tonight at the gym.
  8. Ugh. I don't even want to recap week 1. I didn't work out 4x and I went over my 6 drinks by quite a bit. It's going to be an interesting challenge. Why is it so hard to find motivation?!
  9. So, I don't have any measurements for it, but I only make enough for a salad or two at a time, so it's pretty easy to eyeball: Olive Oil Red Wine Vinegar Dijon Mustard Fresh Garlic Pepper That's it! Just put them together and mix with a fork. I put my garlic through a press, but you could cut it or press it however you like, depending on how strong you want it to be.
  10. http://workoutmemes.com/you-dont-get-the-ass-you-want/ Definitely true!
  11. Ah, that's nice you're with your dad. I actually stayed in Gramercy Park and spent a good amount of time in the East Village while I was there. Yes, my dog is my life. I adore her! Best decision of my life. The Seattle Animal Shelter is a great organization for sure!
  12. Yeah, I'm a big fan of splitting all my food up in smaller containers once a week too. Makes the workweek much easier. Do you like vinegarettess? I have a great recipe for a dijon mustard dressing. I love it!
  13. Do you live in NYC now? I was just there a couple of weeks ago and loved it! I think I love the East coast and West coast equally
