  1. Aaaand I'm back. More or less. More more than less, really. I've been reading the site, I just broke off posting in the forums while I finished school.

  2. Yeah, birth control is terrible on the weight loss goals. I feel your pain. It sounds like you're doing pretty well on your yoga goals. Are you feeling like it's something you love again or does it seem like work? Good luck on getting your client's manuscript published. That sounds pretty effing exciting. Do you get to go to conventions with your authors?
  3. Wide-eyed, I hear your hearing, lol. I have done precisely jack on this log. Sigh. Okay. Every day is new. Here's my log for today. Food: -Peanut butter and Nutella sandwich with fluffer nutter. I had no fridge plugged in, and this was all on the shelf. It tasted delicious. -2 Beef hot dogs and tater tots (Sonic), sweet tea. I was running late after all our appointments ran over or were late, and I needed to eat before Hawk's vet appointment. -Grilled chicken quesadilla with salsa, one Blue Moon white ale. I feel good about this one cause it was super healthy. There wasn't really even much cheese. -Sweet frog frozen yogurt. My dessert for the week. It was even low fat, for all that counts, and I added only dark chocolate and coconut. Exercise: One hour of ballroom dancing (Western swing, tango, and waltz). Yeah. We're getting good enough that I break a sweat most classes. Art: I doodled earlier, but my sketch book is here beside me and I'm getting ready for some character work when I'm done here. Summary: We-ell.... I'm not doing too badly. I did dance for an hour, but I also ate very erratically. At least I updated my logs, eh?
  4. Ooh, and I found something awesome to motivate me on bike rides. Find a podcast you like. Make a rule that you can only listen to it when you're working out.
  5. Preach it, Lady. Seleas, I know you can do this. You're already set up for success with your goals (love the self-punishment part). If you want we could nag each other to work out on a daily... I am slacking as well. Also, dear heart, you are probably not the fattest of your friends. Remember, I was unable to move at all for almost a month. I'm a little over 200 pounds right now... but not for long. This is coming on, cause being chubby is a problem you can run away from. We can toughen up together. I'm actually using you as motivation, if that helps, because I know you have a lot of the same motivation problems I do.
  6. Really? I'd heard that apples would wake you up, but is it enough to compare with coffee or tea? I suppose I could have an apple and tea if I don't add sugar. So, we just moved into our new house and the world is made of chaos. It's having a seriously deletorious effect on my missions. I need to study, but we have so much unpacking to do. Also, our gas wasn't on until just today. That means cold showers, so I was unmotivated to get sweaty. I am such a slacker. Do you guys think it will count if I work out twice tomorrow? I did an hour of ballroom dancing today, which totally counts since it was tango and waltz. My shoulders still hurt. Beer. I had a beer and a sweet tea today. I'm considering making sweet tea count as half if I mix it half and half with unsweetened tea. I feel like that will keep the same calorie allowance but make me feel less deprived, which is leading to me cheating. I'm looking all right on the bones. I mean, on pace for memorization. The skull is a lot of fun to look at, but I get somewhat lazy on the long bones since i feel bored by them. I need to buckle down. Preliminary sketches are about ready for my webcomic. The premise is down, and I'm almost happy with how the characters look. I should have a strip or two done by the end of the weekend. I'm really excited about it. It's moving much better than the card game, which I am stalled on for art. (Maybe that's my next challenge again.) All in all I'm at a solid B so far.
  7. I love your third goal. And your life goal. How are your knees doing? I'm seriously impressed with the long distance running goal... I like hiking in the woods, so I get the desire for woodsy time.
  8. Yay! I found it. Why did I not look there? Our apartment was the third floor, but luckily we bought a one story ranch to move into. I love it. I'm so excited to start painting and messing around with the counter tops and reupholstering these two hideous chairs with lovely bones. I've been bad today. Bad, bad, bad. Why? I'm having a coffee drink even though I should wait til next week. It's cause I'm so tired from moving, and my friend is bringing breakfast over.
  9. Also, are you doing this challenge? I didn't see your thread; I was gonna follow it so I don't miss anything.
  10. HI, LRD! Good to see you back, too. I'm working on my anthropology degree, specializing in osetology. I know the bones, of course, but I'm fuzzy on major features. I need to unfuzz before school starts. We're getting out new house moved in, but I've kept to my missions pretty well. I'm counting moving as exercise since I had to go up and down stairs more often due to not being able to carry much.
  11. Okay, second challenge. I squeaked by on the last one, but I'm gonna own this one. I'm gonna seriously own it. Why? Cause... okay, well, because I want to. Goals, goals, so many goals. Main quest: Ducks in a Row I want to get all of my various life ducks in a row. We've just bought a house, I'm getting medically discharged from the Army, and I've got to get myself some sort of career going. I need to be in better shape and also employed, a tough thing to do when you have a service dog. To that end, I have to finish my degree (one more semester) and get back in decent shape. I can't do either of those in six weeks, but I can do some. Mission 1: Exercise at least five times every week for at least 40 minutes a workout. I've got a bunch of jump rope and lap-swimming exercises lined up. Mission 2: Go through my Osteology text and re-memorize the bones in readiness for the next semester. Looking for a 95% on a flash-card run-through of the major features, to be done one week before the end of the challenge with a possible second chance at the end of six weeks. Mission 3: Two calorie-having drinks per week. Two. That includes beer and soda. One dessert per week. This isn't going to be a permanent life change, just until I get to the shape I want to be. Life Goal: Complete twenty strips for my webcomic and begin posting them. I totally blew my art challenge last time, so I need to buckle down on this. Motivation: Cheesiness ahead, guys: I'm gonna prove to myself that I'm not a random, washed up ex-soldier. I can be just as cool by myself. So anyhow... let's do this. I'll post a picture of my motivation later, when I figure out what I want to post.
  12. Wicked, Nicca. I like it. Your goals look pretty attainable right now. What did you do/not do last time that was the problem? I found that on days after when I updated my log here I was much better at keeping my goals. The accountability helped. This is also my second challenge. I didn't do as well as I'd hoped last time, but I did better than I'd feared.
  13. Good luck, LWG. It's really hard to get motivated after going down in flames, so just trying again is awesome. It looks like you adjusted for the problems you had last time. I think the word limit is a great idea. I'm still working on my goals for this challenge, and I might do a drawing count in a similar way.
  14. You brew? I brew too! What do you put in your Hello Sweetie? I also am a huge fan of your point goal. I had a sort of grading system for my first challenge (this is my second), but this might be better. Mind if I yoink it?
  15. Good luck, AA. Are you cutting out all sugars, to include honey or agave nectar?
  16. So? How's it looking? It's Con week!
  17. Rock on, C. I'm sorry I was radio dark for a bit. I had some hospital visits and what have you, and it was pretty depressing. I had a hard time just sticking to my goals. Glad to see you're carving out some workout time... scientifically, that'll make you more productive.
  18. Sorry to hear about your pec, that's a painful thing to hurt. You probably keep running into times you use it, just in daily "watching kids" life. I would totally stand up for yourself on needing time to yourself on a daily, though... my sister didn't and she gets so burned out with her girls. He can mind them at least for half an hour. You do the same for him. Have you considered swapping in a different exercise, just to keep in the habit of doing it? Lunges, maybe?
  19. A weak start is still a start. You can do this, Seleas! Come play with me on this, you can do at least one of the little challenges. http://nerdfitnessrebellion.com/index.php?/topic/32940-bsg-escaping-caprica/
  20. Yeah, I'd give yourself one point on the yoga just for the wisdom factor if you did it at all. It is good to learn about your body's schedule. Don't be so down on yourself. I blew a goal, too... I totally did not finish my card game, and I need to. It's maddening that I don't have it done, yet I just worked on comics or wrote whenever I should have been card-doing. Sigh. You know what Alfred says about why we fall, though.
  21. Ohhh, okay. Agreed then. Hey, did you guys see this? http://nerdfitnessrebellion.com/index.php?/topic/32940-bsg-escaping-caprica/ I'm totally gonna do this. It's awesome.
  22. This. This, so hard. I'm in, and I'm stupidly excited about it. I sunburned my feet yesterday, but I'm gonna do that 6 mile walk tomorrow.
  23. That is so cool, wideeyed. I'm gonna play around with that before the next challenge.
