  1. I know this is an old thread but I figured I'd put my method in there since I haven't seen it mentioned. Turn oven to 400° Take 1.5 sweet potatoes per person (that seems like a lot but the portion is small) and cut them in half lengthwise then keep cutting them the same way until it's French fry size (kind of like fast food sized not steak fry or potato wedge size) Put these in a bowl and coat with oil of choice coconut oil or olive oil Season. I love using Mrs. Dash garlic and herb seasoning but you can use anything Then put the potatoes on a cooling rack on a baking pan and cook until done
  2. That's what I'm going to do next time. For me doing it the way I did was kind of a form check. I'm doing good on form just have to keep my knees from swinging out and keep from Leaning forward Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. So toady I decided to start going to the gym and actually taking control of everything. I'm the heaviest I've ever been and I'm done with it. So heres what I did today as my first day Weight: 370lbs (gym scale) 2x5 squat with just the bar (some type of warm up) 1x5 squat with bar +10s 1x10 dumbbell press with 20s 3x5 dumbbell press with 35s 1x5 "kind of" deadlift (bar+45s) (I say it's "kind of" deadlift because the bar wasn't on the ground. The squat rack they have at my gym has a place near the ground but its about a foot and a half above the ground. So I didn't have to go all the way down for that deadlift.) 3x5 body weight rows on smith machine 1x5 assisted pull ups on highest setting 1x4 assisted pull ups on highest setting Overall today I just wanted to see what I can do at the gym that's why I worked pretty much everything today. I'm excited to get back in and see what can be done. I'm refueling with sweet potato and chicken breast at the moment. Any tips or hints or anything will be appreciated. Thank you in advance, -DK
  4. Awesome. Thanks guys! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I know one of the best ways to lose weight other than diet is to lift heavy. Cool. Now...what do you guys think is a good beginner program to facilitate losing weight? I lifted in high school so I'm familiar with the lifts. Just curious what you think.
  6. I need ideas for breakfast side items. We usually eat bacon or sausage with grated sweet potatoes (almost hash browns) cooked in some butter. I don't tolerate eggs well in the mornings. We're wondering what ideas people have for side items for the morning?
  7. Oh!! One big thing that I left out on accident!! I'm 28 years old and my testosterone was 195!!!!!! Lower than a 90 year old man (or something).
  8. In March I went to a GP and got some tests done to see if I'm as healthy as I thought I was even though I am morbidly obese. Turns out I am as healthy as I thought (no prediabetes no high blood pressure etc). The only thing was that I have WAY elevated liver enzymes. Like 3-4 times as much. So my doctor said I'm super healthy just need to drop 100lbs (ish). When I weighed in on March I was 377. Now I'm 356. Which after a few months 20lbs of weight loss is good. Except for one thing: I haven't lost weight in 2 months. I haven't gained any either so I've noticed a couple of factors. I'm eating the perfect amount of good vs bad food to maintain my weight (obviously). I'm also doing the perfect amount of exercise to maintain (which isn't much at all...well not any more than just normal daily activities). So since I'm not losing weight and I'm not gaining weight I'm going to start tracking my food. In a general way (with as close to perfect as I can get.) The reason I'm writing this is because I was wondering some other ideas that you guys have to see what's going on? Of course I'm going to exercise a little more but other that and tracking my food...any ideas?
  9. I'm sorry if this was not clear in the OP
  10. Exactly. I had read/heard/figured that @embracingchaos. But one of my original questions was: Is what I'm doing every single day actually considered IF for me...and if so do I need to stop it? If it's not, what would be considered IF for someone like me?
  11. I've heard of IF making it hard for some people to lose weight. Something with adding stress to the body...and adding stress increases the amount of fat your body holds on to. So if I ate more I wouldn't be fasting as long. If I'm not fasting as long I'd increase fat loss. Thus the reason for my question
  12. Hey folks! I have a quick question. Some background though: I'm a large guy and I don't eat as well as I should. I know that IF should really only be done if you have your diet dialed in and sleep under control and stress at a minimum...but I tend to eat my last meal around 8-9pm and my first meal around 8-9AM. So my question...is that still considered IF and if so is it hurting me more than helping? What should I do differently? Eat some jerky in the middle of the night?
  13. I'm going to start doing the workweek challenge with some people. I'll be starting it. First few people to put their info here will be added to the challenge. I already have me and a couple others. If you don't participate or you have really really low numbers for a couple weeks we'll replace you. Nothing against YOU but it will give others a chance to do it.
