  1. Brilliant Saturday spend at the Edinburgh Nerd Fitness meet up. We ate. We drank coffee, we walked and saw pretty things and lifted! I actually wrote an entry last week on another blog about my various body issues and mental barriers. I feel like I was able to break down some of the walls. It has been about 2 years since I have been properly lifting and over a year since I did any lifting at all. I smashed my personal best on Squat with 50kg and Deadlift with 90kg. I almost did 100 but started over thinking it. Gonna try again next weekend with SpecialSundae. Both SpecialSundae and another coach where really amazing and have me a lot of pointers and encouragement and hugged me when my eyes got wet.
  2. Week 1 went really well! Yoga done Water done I made a big batch of soup, not much else though as I was out a lot for food a bit. Vending machine successfullly avoided. Not managed to do special task Week 2. Yoga is good, though I didn't do as much yesterday and I am suffering for it but I think it may be related to water. I haven't been as good with water this week especially yesterday, it has made me a bit cramped up in my upper back. Tried stretching it out but the effect has been minimal. Gonna try get more water in today. Made a big slow cooker of a veggies and meatball thing. It is tasty. Paired KT with some pasta for the week but have a lot leftover which I might freeze. Vending machine was avoided but I was close yesterday, I was a bit stressed thankfully had some nut and raisin mix on my desk that helped with the hunger pangs. I also wrote about my body issues, going to edit and share it soon.
  3. I am a bit busy this week with new job stuff but night be free for a bit in Thursday eve.
  4. Ahhh will deffo share my food. I make a lot of stuff in the slow cooker when it comes to chicken. Monday and Tuesday, went well. Yoga - Gentle start on Monday with a quick 10 mim video. I also did an exercise with a friend I have occasionally done wanky art stuff with which involved body manipulation, I did a few yoga poses to start out and then he essentially moved me through lots of stretching positions. It was quite intense so I feel like explore my body a bit. Water - I drank lots of water but maybe not 2 Litres worth, need to remember a glass of water before bed and first thing in the morning. Batch cooking - meat hamper arrives today and I am off tomorrow so I will throw a couple of things together. 4. Vending machine avoided but I haven't been snacking well this week but have nuts on my desk again now.
  5. Yay for Stranger Things! Good luck Tate xx
  6. Look forward to seeing your challenge Lydia
  7. 1. Yoga everyday I have slacked off for a couple of weeks and my mental health is suffering as well as feeling not physically on form. Do the yoga, I still have a lot of yoga camp to work through. 2: Water Specifcally at least 2 Litres ever 3: Batch cook once a week. I started doing it again recently, even on or two recipes makes a huge difference to my rather busy routine. I just ordered a big meat hamper, nom. 4; Avoid the vending machine. Take that vending machine! Special Challenge Refer myself to physio and podiatry. After hurting my knee over a year and a half ago, not doing the work I meant to, I am still not back with my legs kicking ass and lifting weights. My leg is strong most of the time, it is mostly a confidence thing. However my arches are a bit funny and also I keep going over on my ankles, so I really want to take some time this challenge to set myself up.
  8. Glad you still like the Phoenix down I sent
  9. Yayyyyyy, thank you! Did yoga Tuesday but not Wednesday as such. I got in and was knackered. Being up on my feet all day is tiring after not being used to it for so long. But otherwise things are going well opportunities at work have gone well, more about that later but it has been a good week x
  10. I gave one posted just not filled out, will update soonnnnnn. Thanks for the visit!
  11. After doing pretty well last challenge and wanting to keep it similar. Yesterday I had an interview so that is why I am bit late updating lots if prep over the weekend and allowing myself some relaxation time and sleep yesterday eve. 1. Work -drink 2 litres of water a day -don't use the vending machine - salad for lunch everyday. 2. Yoga everyday. 3. Gym once a week to use the leg press Keeping it simple this challenge as I am going to be a lot more active in general as I have been running around on my feet helping new hires. I do however need to watch what I am eating because of it because the pace is considerablely harder work.
  12. OK. Well I am glad I set a challenge even though I have not managed to sit down and read as much as I wanted. I missed yoga around 7 times. I did tell with my physio exercises week 1 and 2 but my ankles were hurting due to bad shoe choices. Now fixed. I mainly know I need to get into the gym doing leg press and that will fix is most of all. I maybe missed a couple of days of full water consumption. I didn't do my herbal tea goal at all, but I have generally reduced my caffeine. I am proud the vending machine, with one slip up of a lemon fizzy drink on a day I was so exhausted and dehydrated I really wanted the sugar hit. Someone asked me if I have lost weight. Not sure if I have or not. I DID OK woop
  13. Figured put my ankle issues were likely because a certain pair of shoes, changed shoes and things improved. This week has been going well so far, this week I have hit target off yoga everyday but 1 but on the day I missed I did a lot of walking and some fairly intense stretchy exercise. Yoga has been going really well and I feel a bit stronger already but my bum has feeling a big saggy I dunno if it is just paranoia or what. Good things happened as well I caught my reflection in a window and felt like I looked OK for the first time in weeks after generally feeling pretty crap about my body.
  14. Just catching uo, awesome to hear about your new skills, hope you find the right balance between eating plenty and not puking every where! Sounds like a nice evening have fun!
  15. Dawwww Thanks! Yesterday I went out had sushi for lunch, settled down in a cafe with a chai latte and worked on my interview prep. It feels good, concentrating on the fact I am competent. I walked around a bit as well andankles are feeling much better. I did Day One of yoga camp today, feel p much better for a full practice rather than a quick downward dog before bed.
  16. Sorry for the radio silence! Week 2 has been tough and there have been moments where I have felt quite defeated. I went over on my ankles when walking about, so doing a little yoga and not much physio on my legs. My plans was to start getting back to the gym and use the leg press to strengthen like I should be, but my mental energy to do it plus how sore my ankles have been (really sore) have put me off. My wrists as well have been really tender. Both wrists and ankles are doing a bit better today, so I am gonna do gentle yoga and my shoulder stretches at least. I am considering going back to physio for some guidance and to check I am doing the right things. I really want to me strong enough and confident enough to do some lifting in October for the meet so it gives me a time line to aim for. Non fitness wise, work has been hard going. I am preparing job applications for interim positions it is going to be quite competitive and basically I need to be really prepared. However, today is my day off so I am going to take a bit of time to chill as well as make some progress on the prep.
  17. He said he will be back, sure you will get a chance
  18. Sounds like a tough week, good job for pushing through mate x
  19. Well done for getting past that awkward barrier, I would certainly feel the same way. I hated my neighbours see my leave my house for a run, I used to wait until I was far off my street until I started back when I was giving it a go.
  20. Happy belated birthday, it was awesome to see you the other night at the pub.
