Hmm... I'm not sure I can devote that much energy into making as little sense as HGttG.  I am trying to scarf obscene amounts of food so TMNT's peanut butter and anchovy pizza might be pretty spot on.
Because we're on nerd fitness, just make sure it's made with PB fit.
  2. I'm at an odd loss for this challenge.  I've got goals but no cutesy window dressing in which to wrap them.  It's by no means the most important thing on earth, but it really seems a part of the NF style to maintain a fun theme and roll with it.  Part of the fun is searching google images for something that ties in to both how I feel and what I'm doing.

    Any ideas?
This is the most obvious thing I could think of for you... What about a Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy theme? :D

Also, teenage mutant Ninja turtles. Not sure why, just popped into my head.

  4. Level 2 Ranger here [emoji4] looking for a party that i can meet up with and/or have an accountability group with.
I'm extremely shy and introverted, and very hesitant to get into social situations because I have severe social anxiety. But part of leveling up my life means getting past that social anxiety and taking down all the mobs and bosses that get in my way of completing my epic quests.
I live in Sheridan Oregon, which is closer to Salem, but I love long drives, and 2 or 3 hours to get to pdx isn't that far imo. Used to live on Barbur so I am still fairly comfortable with getting around [emoji4]
Hi there! I recommend checking out Nopo Run Club, if you like to drive and socialize. It's a casual atmosphere and a good place to meet prop!e.

  5. Getting better at the whole low calorie thing. Just reached the end of a 1316 day, and I'm completely stuffed. How does that work? Bulk, my friends. Also: Shiratake noodles, apples, and pb fit. This is my life now.

In other news: I lost another pound.

Also, weird thing, and I almost don't want to type it out for fear of losing it: My running has improved! Despite the significant calorie deficit, my running has improved. Not especially faster, but just... better somehow. Love it! I hate dieting, but it's good to lose some weight.

  6. I had a really good week! Steadily losing weight, getting good sleep,  averaging over 10 k steps per day. Diet's been remarkably good, but I did have a bit of a cheat day on Friday. BLT, beer, big tavern salad... I ate everything at the bar. Total calories were still 1874.  Had a rest day yesterday as well, so went a little above allotted calories (although didn't break the bank)- 1650. Anyway, getting back to the right calorie level now.

  7. So I've been contemplating the concept of stress being caused by something out of your control. If it is in your control - do something about it. If it isn't in your control embrace it.

Interesting. Yeah, i like the idea of embracing things out of my control. I'll have to think about that idea more.
  8. Just writing to report back that I have been doing a good job following my goals! I have perfect attendance on my tracking goal. My journalling goal is also doing well-- I have been regularly journalling every night before bed. Also, meditating most days. I feel good!

The one major deficiency is sleep. I have not been sleeping very well due to work stress. I did some research and have found some new strategies to help deal with it, but I'd like to really focus on trying to get at least 7 hours per night over week 3.

  9. I'm a reluctant journaled but it's on the goal list so . . .

I can't decide if to just go freestyle- just spent some time writing anything

    But

I don't know if thus us why journaling always peters out.

So maybe I should answer specific questions?

I can't even decide if to go pen and paper or something (free) is on my iPad.

    Any suggestions?
Not sure! Maybe try a few prompts and see if it works for you?
  10.
That's the way to go. In  busy days, taking your own time is even more important. Taking care of yourself has to be a priority for better results at work. There's only so many hours anyone can work efficiently.
This is excellent advice. Thank you!!

ALERT: Are you writing in a journal in general, or as part of your goals? I have started a new thread in the Accountabilibuddies just for you. If you are inclined to check it out, head right this way. Hope to see you there!

Based solely on my overuse of the word 'shiny', I qualify as a huge geek, apparently.  Although...  I majored in mathematics, minored in computer information systems, grammar is extremely important to me, and I enjoy making my own Sudoku puzzles.  That's solid nerd stuff.  Looks like I could fit in both camps, but where do I fit in the Nerd Fitness Rebellion?  I've bounced around a bit over the years.  But scanning the various guild boards to figure out where I belong for this challenge, and maybe for this whole year, I find myself thinking about trying to be a runner again, or at the very least a slow jogger.  I managed to complete four 5k charity runs a couple years ago, my first ones ever, before back issues sidelines me.  But I do miss that challenge.  Plus I love to hike, and this jungle looks full of promise around every turn of the trail.

You may be hearing more from me soon.  Stay tuned...

Why don't we just split the difference and call ourselves "neeks?" ;)

  14. I mainly started this thread because I have trouble writing in my journal. I wrote constantly in journals as a kid and a teen, but got busy being an adult and lost the habit. I could use some help getting started.

Here are some prompts I found that might be interesting:

    Write about the Past

    • Write a letter to your older self.
    • Write about your childhood.
    • Write about lost friendships.
    • Write about your school life, your grades, what you wish you had done differently.
    • Write about turning points in your life – what would be different now if you had made a different choice.
    • Write about regrets you may have.

    Write about Yourself

    • What frightens you?
    • What brings you joy?
    • What makes you sad?
    • What worries you? Is there a pressing problem you need to work out?
    • Write a letter to someone that upset you, but you aren't ready to confront in person.
    • Write down the things you wished you had said to your parents, or other loved ones before they passed away.
    • Write down confessions of your deep down secrets that you can't tell anyone.

    Write about the Future

    • Where do you want to be 5, 10, or 15 years from now?
    • What line of work do you plan on pursuing in the future?
    • Write down how you can improve your life.
    • Write about children you plan to have, and what you wish for them.
    • Write letters to your future children and grandchildren that you can give to them when they are older. These letters will help them understand the type of person you were at their age.
    • Write about places you wish to see, vacations you plan to have.
    • Write about home improvements you would like to make.
    • Make a bucket list.

    Write about the Present

    • Write letters to friends and family members about things you can't say to them in person.
    • Write letters to your boss or coworkers.
    • Write about your friends, coworkers and family members, describing what they are like, what you like and dislike about each one, etc.
    • Write about your job, pets, your home, etc.
    • Write about your daily activities so you can look back and remember each moment.
    • Add photos to your entries to make them more special.
  15. Greetings from the Scout Guild. I know some of us have journaling as a goal right now. If you would like to get together and discuss prompts, hit me up over this way. Hope to see you there!
