  1. No I do not love burpies. When I began it was more like a mountain climber since the jump out was not something I could do. Now I can do it right but no, I do not love them. I think the only time I said "woohoo" doing burpies was they day I did one start to finish without accommodations for my lack of good physical shape. They are a good way to get a quick plank and full body weight strengthener. You don't have to absolutely love an exercise. the good news is it does not have feelings so it does not care.
  2. I have 5 older sisters. One got horrible cramps that not even the pill helped. She is a fan of ibuprofen and going to bed since she get's migraines on top of it all. I used to get them pretty bad pre kids but not after. Sex always made mine better pre kids too. If running works I would suggest that it is the endorphin effect. A lot of ladies in my birthing community that still get them bad after kids swear by Cal-mag supplements taken the 2 weeks prior to the expected period . I have nothing else for you since I always used a hot water bottle or a heating pad when mine were bad and took it as a clue it was time to rest and recuperate for a day. That's usually how long the worst of it was. Often I was back to normal after resting. Something that occurs to me as I'm thinking over it,how well hydrated are you and what is your electrolyte intake like? My one sister that gets them bad as a hard time keeping well hydrated I don't know if that is an issue with you or not.
  3. I have a friend with atypical PCOS. She has a normal body weight but has all the other symptom's. She and her DH had a very hard time conceiving all of their babies, All of her kids have 4-7 year gaps thanks to her PCOS. When she decided to work on getting into good physical shape and to find the best diet for her personally she fell pregnant without trying after trying desperately for 7 years for her last baby. She wanted a houseful and still hopes to foster. Since PCOS is a insulin resistance issue paleo is often the cure since it regulates insulin without the medication. Get a cook book find a meal plan and see how you feel in 6 weeks. As for really tracking your fertility I would suggest as someone else said learning one of the natural family planning methods. Tracking your temperatures and cervix along with cervical mucus is a very good indication of fertility and could point you in a direction to follow in fertility treatments. Some women have found that they have very long cycles and were TTC at the wrong time completely. One of my SIL's was using OPK's with little success until my brothers thyroid disorder was diagnosed and treated. His low thyroid was causing him to have low count and poor quality sperm. I personally use one of the many online tracking methods but will let you Google your own. In the 8 years of using it I have fallen pregnant every time I wanted to since I was aware of my fertile times and knew to the hour when I was ovulating.
  4. My tomatoe bushes are covered with tomatoes in different stages of growth. One is almost ready but I'm waiting for these green baseball sized globes to turn red or purple.

    1. StarGazer

      StarGazer

I read this as "my tomato blushes" and I was wondering it maybe this was a new way to say "turn red and ripen" until I realized that I just can't read. Enjoy them when they "blush"!

  5. Made sausage marinara and spageti squash for dinner n the crock pot. So good. I'd have loved to have done it up spicey but ony two out of the six I'm feeding like it spicey. Still yum.

  6. Okay fols with my birthday and the holday in the same week you know I cheated right? Thts okay. I did get my workouts in so it's not a fail. This morning I think I pushed a little too hard. My shoulders are mad at me for pushing until I did 30.

  7. I've been following Girl Genius for a long time. It's where I started reading web comics. I read Door until the artist moved on. Alien Dice, Earth song,Twilight Lady, Bear nuts, Family man,Fey winds,Lavender legend ,Half light,The becoming, Dark white, One wish. Those have been fun so far. I really like the Bear nut's series. My kids think it is a hoot. The Forgotten order has picked up in publication and it is a new one that I am waiting with baited breath for the next page. Namesake is a good one too. That one I like to let go and read a chapter all at once.I think some of them have taken vacation and others work slow but those are some of the ones I'm currently following, I try to keep NSFW out simply because my workspace is all kids under 18.
  8. After pushing hard yesterday I feel it today. Did some Yoga to streach out the owies and cardio since yesterday was a "weight" day. Sprints and walking to equal a mile.

  9. Did my first park workout while letting the kids play. I got odd looks from the baseball team practicing though when I did my streaches.

  10. I loved Eye of the dragon by King. It was something I got my feet wet with in his books. I In my early teens I found Peirs Anthony. His Xanith series got me through some tough school years. I got to read a few books from the Incarnations of immortality series recently. It was a good read.I liked Anne McCafery's early works before the Dragon riders of Pern series that made her so famous.Although the first book or two of that was pretty good. The books based off of what happened later were difficult for me to get into. I took one winter holiday and read Clan of the cave bear series but have not re-visited that one. I am a bad fan I forget authors and titles but keep books I loved around. The only reason I remember those two is because I have been reading their books so often. I don't have a lot of their books since someone keeps culling my library.
  11. That is Freaking fantastic! The difference is huge from your first to current. Keep on plugging away. You may not have met goal yet but you are so close. I know I've not been around long but you inspire me!
  12. My Granola cereal recipe comes from 100 days real food. It takes the kids who will eat it and me about 2 weeks to eat it. My brains asploded I cant get teh link to post. Go look it up. It is way better for you to have a bowl of this than factory manufactured cereal. My kids with texture issues refuse to eat it but love the smell of the kitchen when I cook it up.
  13. It's called my gut needs more good bacteria. Beano will help but not cure. You are going to have to change your gut. When my kids were babies I would give them probiotic's,Especially after a round of antibiotics. Not just because it helped them feel good but it made them smell good. Die off from other underlying gut issues will cause gas from hell too. You might want to work on replacing your bread/sugar binges with food that is safer for your new gut flora.
  14. I've had my Diva cup about three years. I've only used it regularly the last year. I used to use the disposable cups but on cycle I forgot one and it turned into a mess and a half. They were that comfortable. I've never like tampons so having something inside was not easy to get used to. When I learned about turning it inside out to make it smooth then I found it less irritating. I've had four babies vaginally so the fit was never an issue with the cup I bought. I will say that it was a couple of years postpartum that I got mine so things had settled into a normal for my body. As for the ick factor of body fluids,it's never been an issue. I just make sure I'm home where a sink is close by so I can rinse and get back to life. A funny haha moment about having a diva cup and kids. My daughter found it before I could get it into storage and was playing with it in the tub. Thank god for boiling water.
  15. Reading this makes me feel like I have come so very far. I have an eating disorder. that is life. I binge eat. It happens and I simply have to remember it was a binge and that what ever it was I was trying to stuff does matter. My last binge was triggered by a class I went to for self improvement. It was an eyeopener. I remember when I hated myself so violently. I had to get at what it was I was really mad at myself about. Why did I hate myself so violently? I found the cause and I am still working on it. Hating my body was how I punished myself for whatever shortcoming I thought I had. It was symptom of a deeper illness. I fed myself food I knew was bad and got fat. I hated the fat body I got and kept finding new ways to punish myself. Getting out of my house and treating my depression was the first step. IRL I am deeply shy. I seem confident and together but I am not. I keep trying and that is all I can do for now. 1.Something I love about myself is my calves. They are back! I have always loves my slim ankles and calves. 2. I keep trying even if I get discouraged. I'll whine about it and allow in it but I get off the floor eventually and try again. Also I have a mama body. It is what it is and that belly and breasts that go with it are my badge of honor for being a mom. I'll take it, it is a good body.
  16. I have pervasive dyslexia. Spell check is my bestsest* friend and sometimes my fiend. Grammar for me in the beginning was horrible. Then I met a grammar nazi who showed me kindly how to write. Then and than are the bane of my existence. And it appears that my spell check does not know bane. I have a poster on my wall to remind the kids of the proper use of you, your, you're ETC. If I can learn how to do it right with a LD then so can they. *bestest -something said like a little kid would just because it is so damn cute.
  17. The best fat packing oil I have found was coconut. But my guy hates coconut flavors. After trying all nutritional supplement shakes We went with the vanilla pediasure with added fiber. I wanted him to get the 500cal ensures or other muscle building stuff but it was a no go. I also began making nutella shakes with the pediasure just for the added calories. Those went over very well. I have to be very careful with adding fruit thanks to his texture issues. Anything with seeds that my cheap blender cant turn to mush won't get eaten. That's why I love my Popsicle maker. A smoothie that got turned down in liquid form often gets eaten in Popsicle form. If you can get them to eat high fat foods it helps. Not junk food. The weight issues almost make me with I could put a NG tube on him and just feed whatever it was he hated down the tube. That would not solve the problem.
  18. I have an undereater but he has celiac. This kid eats, he just has a hard time putting on weight thanks to his gut issue. Sometimes under gaining is caused by gut problems. His younger brother weighs as much as he does and our guy looks like a walking skeleton. He has sensory/ texture issues with food so it makes it very hard to find stuff he will eat. If he eats smoothies I see nothing wrong with it. My biggest trick to get our guy to gain weight was the before bed feeding of a high calorie smoothie. It also made him ravenous in the morning and I could pack a good solid breakfast into him. His cheeks started to get fat and then boom his body used it to grow four inches.
  19. You can go GF without hollowalletosis. I have kids with gluten issues. We have to keep a lot of crap out of the house for that reason alone. I do a ton of scratch cooking. Sucks on many levels. I plan meals. I Budget like a madwoman and we eat a lot of veggies, potatoes, and fruit. Our grains are very limited but we eat a lot of oats and other grains that are gluten free. NO SOY in our diet because I react to it in a not so nice way, think IBS from hell. Meat is expensive so I stretch it out. Basically we are semi vegetarian, I also have chronic pain issues and I go from better to worse. I figure it's life. I know I'm stressed when my neck hurts. My shoulders and mid back are often the culprit behind my neck issues. I go to a chiropractor who does acupuncture. She begs me to do yoga with whatever workout I do to stretch everything out. I go through cycles of doing yoga and feeling better and then sloughing off. There is no magic bullet that will fix everything but you can find things that make it tolerable and better.
  20. Search out yoga for pain. I found those to be for people recovering from injury and pain issues. They were often supported poses that were very relaxing and restorative. I have a bad back and that one really helped. I'm not good at keeping up with who does what I netflix a lot of my programing.
  21. My kids love this game. One of them acts like it's real and get's a bit over involved but it's okay. They will play this whenever they can talk their dad into it.
  22. This so highlights why I have had such a hard time losing weight the last 10 years. I make a goal to get healthy and if I lose weight that's fine but I feel like right now the fat IS protective. So under the fat I'm trying to put a body that is healthier and fitter. Self sabotage is going to be my biggest enemy this whole battle. I threw out my scale a long time ago and when someone wanted to be my coach I sabotaged that. You gotta find what works for you. For me I can't have a scale victory EVER. This is like huge trigger for me to binge. So no scale check ins. I can't allow myself to buy junk food. My husband does it for me and he knows I won't buy it. This is the outside sabotage I deal with weekly. His excuse is the kids need junk food. My self sabotage happens when I'm stressed and my schedule is out of whack. Then I buy the fast food and ice cream and say to hell with the workout. For me being fat is so safe. I'm not happy about it but it feels safe. getting out of this rut is a huge challenge. Now you know that you are not alone in pulling out of it. As other have said find your triggers and eliminate or find ways around them them.
  23. I am very fair skinned and every summer got burned from here to hell several times over all my life. Aloe gel liberally and in later years mom discovered melaluca oil/ Tea tree. Now I use a combo of coconut oil base with lavender, melaluca, and a few other choice essential oils and apply first thing after I shower and often through out the day. I don't burn as bad any longer and when I combine this magical blend with aloe gel on top of a burn I'm usually back to non painful skin within a few days. Most sunscreens break me out in not so lovely hives. EEK. So I've had to find some natural sunscreens and burn relief. When going to the beach a rash guard is my bestest friend. I make my very fair skinned boys wear them at he pool while I huddle under the sunbrella. I do not tan, I turn a lovely shade of rose and look permanently burned until the end of summer. But I'll take it and the natural vitamin D boost any day.
  24. I've got four kids. Since it was a life goal to at least have one. I think I surpassed the goal. They are good young people who are going to make pretty good adults once we finish up the teen years. They are pretty good teens for that matter but I expect a few bumps on the road for a couple of them.
  25. Thanks Jetikus for the welcome and the tutorials links. As to sewing. I do simple works. Nothing frilly and a lot of straight lines. Since I had mainly boys for the longest time I made many sets of lounge pants, shorts and matching t-shirts. That is a lot of straight lines and easy sewing. I guess I do have some artistic talent then but not paper translatable. I think my biggest hurdle is that my hands like to shake at inconvenient times when I try to concentrate on drawing. Lots of eraser lines and smudges on my works of art. I content myself with enjoying others brilliance. Leveling up in life for me has come with a lot of XP and it is hard won. I don't expect for things to come easy or overnight. Although I am very impatient. I want things done yesterday. Too bad I can't back to the future my life.
