  5. ETF! I read that Harry Frankfurt book you recommended months ago, and it was excellent. It also looks like I'll be reading more of him soon for a class. Thank you for the suggestion!

  9. You made some progress, nicely done! High five for staying paleo through the reunion!
  10. Diet/Fitness 1. 3 "Cheat meals" which included ice cream. It's in the past. I'm doing better now: The only sugar I've had in a little while was in protein powder. 2. Had one day off, 6/7. 3. Success. Life Goals 1. Kind of ignored this one this week? I got rid of a couple things. 2. I bothered a friend into teaching me a couple Russian words. It's a stretch, but I'm counting this as a skill. 3. 270/600 saved.

    The Power of 3

Awesome job, Skirler! Keep it up!
  12. Keep up the great work, Stori!
  13. Week 1 Update: Diet/Fitness 1. Had two "cheat meals" but did well aside from that. 2. Did nothing today, either work+yoga or crossfit+yoga every day besides today. 3. Successs Life Goals 1. Done. Recycling taken out, some clothes donated. 2. Does learning to tie a bow tie count as a skill? 3. $120 deposited.
  14. I don't really want to do this, but I think I need to keep myself accountable somewhere. No big exciting goals. I am going to focus on the basic things I should be doing anyway and work on those for now: Diet/Fitness Goals 1. Stop eating sweets. I'm allowing for one square of dark chocolate a day. 2. Do something active every day outside of the house. I'm going to count work if it is 7+ hours because I'll be walking constantly. 3. Stop drinking things that aren't water, tea, or coffee. Life Goals 1. Get rid of something every day. (Recycling bottles, donating clothes, selling books) 2. Try something new every week. Either take a class, eat something, or learn a new skill. 3. Earn and then put $600 in savings.
  15. Skirler! It looks like I'm late to the party, but I love your goals and all the work you've been doing. Especially your life goals. You are one outstanding lady!
  16. I gave myself a B. I also vote cline. She accomplished an amazing amount in this challenge! That was one long summary post Everyone did a lot of work! Good job PiGs!
  17. NF ruined me too. I was with a friend in a public place and was going to do burpees outside. I'm so used to hearing encouraging comments from people here that I was really surprised and disappointed when he told me not to do them. Burpees hurt? It's weird doing them public? People will look at me funny? Bah, excuses!
  18. Gave myself a B. I did a chinup and increased my hip flexibility, but did not do as well on diet and finance goals.
  19. Welcome! Can you drink coconut milk? What soy products do you rely on?
  20. That does beg the question. What is it?
  21. I think it COULD be used in that respect: The word beg in this context means to dodge or evade. Begging the question is the same as a circular argument, because it doesn't answer the question (My foot hurts because it is in pain. That doesn't explain WHY your foot hurts). But I think you could make an argument for using it for a dubious claim (claiming to gain 30lbs of muscle in a week dodges the obvious question: What steroids are you on?). That being said... it would probably still bother me.
  22. I had a friend who, whenever someone said "epic" would say "you mean long and boring?" I hate it when people say "begs the question" when they mean "RAISES the question".
  23. Haha! Those poor little guys look scared.
