  1. I just moved back to town after being away for a couple of years. It's cool to think that someone else who knows of Nerd Fitness is close by.
  2. I should, hopefully, be there all 4 days. I'm a panel hopper, and MomoCon has some of the best panels for me (animation and such). I say that because I know for the past 3 years, I've been in panels almost the entire con, so I may be a little hard to meet up with. I'm open to it though. I would love to talk to people about their experience with Nerd Fitness and their journeys.
  3. Thanks for the kind feedback, Novena. I honestly thought I'd just go unnoticed, it's been so long since this challenge started. Considering how I have a lot of fat to lose and my past experience with when I first change my diet and life habits, my goal of 6 pounds is pretty reasonable for me for the first two weeks. After that, I agree, 2 pounds a week is a great, safe pace. The Bride Wore Black Leather is actually the last book in Simon R. Green's Nightside series. Not the best series, but I do enjoy the world he created -an underbelly of London where it's always 3:00 a.m., and where any and everything can and will happen. Just know that my description doesn't do it any justice and that I'm a sucker when it comes to modern times with fantasy, mythic, and science fiction elements rolled in. I don't have too many issues with boredom while I'm moving, but I do need to get me another device to listen to audio files with. My iPod died several months back and I haven't bothered replacing it. If I'm going to be walking (which I will be), I had better make arrangements to get another one or some similar product. Also, thanks for the zucchini noodles link, it looks really good. I'll take any and all help when it comes to eating paleo. It's hard down here in the dirty South, meats and carbs make up almost the entire diet. I honestly couldn't count how many meals my family has had where it's been just one type of meat and one carb. Again, thanks for the feedback and welcoming me to the community. It was an unexpected surprise.
  4. My goals for the remaining 2 weeks of the challenge are as follows: Lose 6 Pounds (CHA+1) a. No more sugary drinks (soda, Kool-Aid, juices, punch, etc.) b. Limit sugary snacks to just when I need the quick calories (mostly when I'm around water swimming or fishing, which isn't much) c. Keep track of daily calories, and keep them around 2000 a day. Read a Book (WIS+.5) a. "The Bride Wore Black Leather" by Simon R. Green Walk for an hour without stopping for a distance over 2.5 miles (STA+2) a. Wake up before work with enough time to walk b. keep track of laps Create and execute a meal plan around the Paleo Diet -my new way of life. (COS+2) a. find recipes I like that are Paleo friendly b. Make a plan each a week for both individual meals and for quick fixings for work lunches c. Grocery shopping Starting Points: My starting weight is 345.8 lbs. I don't even own the book yet, but am buying it after I post this. I'm currently embarrassed at how little I can stand and how little it takes me to be out of breath; I'll leave it at that. In a week, I eat at restaurants and fast food way too much. Too many processed foods, way too many carbs. I don't even know what the next thing I'll eat is. I've done similar feats in the past, so I do know these goals are possible for me within 2 weeks. Over and out.
