  1. Well, JJ and I did it. We conquered the mountain. 12,441' up and felt great. I am beyond proud of his accomplishments over this summer. Not once did he complain or say he can't do something. He got a touch of altitude sickness on our trek down, but we were able to get him to lower elevation and he recovered in a few hours. It's one thing to hear about the view and see the pictures from the top of the world. It's another thing entirely to experience it firsthand. Go out and experience things my friends.

Thank you all for checking in. It's been a low motivation thing for me. I have not yet built my workouts into my routine yet, so I am relying on motivation, which I do not like. It's too fleeting.

I am looking at a weekend where much of my everyday responsibilities will be lower, so I will have the time to get some things done to better my workouts. I hope, at least. Maybe I end up painting in the house...

Got a 4.5 mile ride knocked out on Sunday. Felt good to work out the soreness in my legs.

  5. This weekend, I went camping. It was for the BSA honors society, Order of the Arrow. I had a lot of physical activity on Saturday and sleeping on the ground. Pulling trees out of the ground, moving logs, making and moving brush piles. Things like that. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I ache.

Nothing done on Friday, but I am counting pulling trees most of Saturday as lifting. It was pretty intense. I still ache from it.

Nothing this weekend. Mostly because I was unable to do the motions needed. Or hold on to anything for any length of time. Silverware was fun...

Got a 3 mile ride in Thursday evening. All 4 of us went, which is quite the accomplishment for Jitter Bug. She's usually less than enthused if we're not going to a park to play.

I did get some reflection time in. I'm hoping tonight or tomorrow are going to be good times for reflection. I will be at camp and not able to speak while there. Part of an Ordeal.

I worked on some yo-yo tricks. I haven't used one for a while, so it was fun to figure out some of the ways I need to move to get them done.

  7. Went from not being able to get more than 4 hours of sleep to missing two of my morning alarms... Good times

My younger brother's wife had their baby yesterday. We're very excited for them and wish them the best of health.

First Scout Pack Meeting of the new year is tonight. WeI have some new Scouts that joined, 3 of them siblings. The names were unique enough that they stood out and rang a bell in my head. Asked my wife and she let me know that they are her cousin's kids. Their dad was a Scouter for many years and is excited to get them going in the program. He may be a good leader to take over for me as well. We'll see how this all shakes out.

Went on a ride yesterday to one of the schools. Played Gaga Ball and started Wall Ball when I tossed the ball a little too hard and it went on the roof... I ruined that game pretty quick. JJ was not happy with me. But, we got a ride in, so bonus.
