  1. Looks like a solid update, Fox. Well done. And thank you for not being Typhoid Mary.
  2. Finding some calm with that technique is great, but finding my stillness in silence is something I miss every day.
  3. Welcome to the Druids. Happy adventure on this challenge. Excited to see your progress.
  4. In case anyone is interested, I'm going to do a challenge. It's been a couple of years, but I need to get a routine down.
  5. If a centipede a pint, and a milipede a quart, how much would a precipice?
  6. Well, it's been a couple of years since I've done a challenge. I've struggled to keep excersizing, lost some friends from this world, made some mistakes, learned from them, lost any faith I had left, tried to be a good person, and decided I'm not letting any of that knock me off course anymore. It's time for a challenge! Why? Well, next year, Jitters Junior and I are going on a mountain climbing trip with the Scouts and I am not nearly in the right shape to do so. How will we get there? That is an excellent question. I really don't have a clear plan yet. It's going to be a rolling challenge that will increase slightly over the next 11 months. I'm going to get back to my basics and need to remember and be mindful of what I am doing. Jitters Junior will be along for my lifting and Pizzazz will be along for the riding. Well, I'm along for her rides. She's doing a Sept. biking challenge and it's helpful to have other people with you. Here's what I have so far: Lift 3 days per week. No matter what. I somehow find a way to not do something. It's easy not to do the thing. No more. I will be going with squats, overhead presses, and deadlifts. 0/3 - Weekly 0/15 - 5WC Bike riding 3 days per week. As mentioned, my wife is doing a virtual biking challenge with Kat and it's easier to ride with someone else. I am happy to oblige. 0/3 - Weekly 0/15 - 5WC Reflect 3 days per week. Back in November of '18, my ears started ringing. It didn't get better. Doctors were consulted, tests were run, and in the end, the conclusion was: "We have no idea what is going on. You're going to have to learn to live with it." Let me tell you, it sucks. I was once able to meditate and bring calm to my mind. It's been nearly two years since I could do that. I miss a lot of what comes from quiet. Instead of meditation for one of my goals, I am going to start journaling. I think it may help. 0/3 - Weekly 0/15 - 5WC Bonus: Juggle more. I haven't juggled in a long while until a couple of weeks ago. The kids got out some of my juggling props and it made me realize it's been so long. I am going to make sure to take some time out of my day to juggle with the kids. Sometimes, possibly literally. Aiming for at least two days per week. This is more for fun. 0/2 - Weekly 0/10 - 5WC Let's get this party started!
  7. Went for a bike ride last night. Got 3.15 miles in. Feeling good about it. Lifted with JJ and he's still at his baseline weights. He told me that it's feeling easier to lift, so maybe this weekend, we can try heavier. We'll see how that goes. Props to him for going after it. Tonight is going to be more Scouts and packing for camp this weekend. Might get some cardio in the form of jump rope in. We'll see.
  8. I'm excited to see where your adventure takes you, Hatter. We're glad to be here for you.
  9. You are a lot more optimistic than I am about that, Hatter. At the moment, at least. It is something that motivates me, which has been problematic this year. I'm feeling refreshed after a couple weeks of half-assing my workouts. I am excited to see what whole-assing my workouts brings.
  10. I was awake at 3 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I did what any rational person would do; I got a workout in. I didn't lift yet today, but I got a few good circuits of a body weight routine in. Yay! Camp planning meeting with the Scouts last night. Dropping JJ off at a meeting tonight and going for a bike ride with Pizzazz while JB is on her virtual Girl Scout meeting. When did we get so busy? Day 2 of school sounds like it's going well for the kids. Work is keeping me interested for the entirety of my day. It's Wednesday! Be kind to each other
  11. I would add to find a way to log when you're working on other people's stuff. Concrete facts help. I'm following along. Good luck and kick some butt!
  12. And because I'm aiming to (misbehave) climb a mountain, I felt this was needed:
  13. This weekend was a lot of fun. Took the boat out a couple of times, got a good pi bike ride in (3.14 miles) had some good food and spent some time playing games with the family. Kids are starting their first day of school today and I wish them well.
  14. This right here. If it helps to type it out, please do.
  15. Had another Scout meeting last night and was wiped out from work, so last night really was a nothing. Well, not nothing. Had a good chat with the wife on upcoming things we want to do. Woke up at 1:30 this morning and could not get back to sleep, despite my best efforts. I be tired, yo.
  16. Jenn! Good to see you. I am getting the cape after this one. Last night, all 4 of us went for a bike ride. 2 miles for me and JJ, we had a planning meeting to get to. It was fun. Haven't been out on the bike in a couple of months. Felt good to ride again.
  17. 4 am saw me awake and working out. A light start on this journey. 10 body weight squats x 3 10 push ups x 3 60 second plank x 3
  18. For those wondering, here's a picture of Jitters Junior and Taylor, his spicy dinosaur (bearded dragon) And yes, they kicked my butt at Pokemon.
  19. Possibly. I'm trying to figure out ways to keep myself motivated. It's a Scout trip with my son. He's all sorts of excited to get ready to go and I'm thinking, "There's no way in hell you can do this" Then I remember, I can. I may need some motivation, but I can do this.
  20. Just under one year until I will be hiking in the mountains in New Mexico. There is a lot to do to get ready for that. Step one: lose weight. Step two: strengthen body. Step three: increase endurance. Step four: Conquer the mountain. Here we go!
  21. I've said this offline: Congrats on the engagement! So happy for you!
  22. Indianapolis was a fun town. The show was a bust, but the town is always great to visit. I lifted at the hotel's fitness center and then went for a slow jog along the river. It was exactly what I needed both mornings. Now I'm back in MN and have a craft show tomorrow morning with my daughter. I am looking forward to that. We have a few new pieces that we're bringing down to sell.
