  1. "Climb to the top of the world" Initiate protocols 1-4. ... Protocols initiated. Upload previous missions. ... Upload complete. Install battle program ... Installation complete. Powering on. It's time for me to get my head back in the game. It's time to go a bit old school. I will see this through. Lifting, cardio, and meditation will all be a part of this challenge. Also, I have to not eat like an asshole. When I finish this challenge, I will have a good baseline to move into more specific challenges. Workout 4 days per week. No matter what. I somehow find a way to not do something. It's easy not to do the thing. No more. Weights and cardio in the form of jumping rope will be my guide on this. 0/4 - Weekly 0/16 - 4WC Meditate 3 days per week. This is usually not a problem, but for some reason, I fell out of habit. Time to go back to my roots. 0/3 - Weekly 0/12 - 4WC Portion Control. Grading is subjective and difficult, but I will do my best on this. I am getting better, but with my diabetes, I need to be better still. Pass/Fail 0/21 - Weekly Pass/Fail 0/84 - 4WC Bonus Level: Glass work. I will finish at least one piece each week and post pictures! I have had many successful craft shows in the past couple of years and I am only improving on my technique. And Jitters Junior and Jitter Bug help. Makes it much more fun. 0/1 - Weekly 0/4- 4WC I may stumble along the way, but it will not stop me. With your help, I will beat this.
  2. Yeas ago, we had a jump rope PvP. We did first to 60 minutes, but I think we can do something different. Who would be in on something like that?
  3. My dangerously under-qualified advice would be to make sure you have records of everything. The doctors evaluation from bringing the little one to the doctor, things like that. Documentation can save lives. Things that show that you are going to be doing what is best for your kids, even if your ex is not. You describe your situation as someone who is trying her damnedest to make sure her kids have what they need to lead healthy and productive lives. Take a deep breath. Exhale slowly and calm your mind. You're stronger than this and you will get through it. And in the mean time:
  4. I am so on board with watching you kick some butt, Hatter.
  5. I am digging this challenge. Looking forward to watching your progress.
  6. Never be ashamed of who you are. We all have our demons to face and our scars that show where we've been. I've had a week that I kind of didn't do a whole lot. I lifted on Saturday, but that was about it. Busy final weekend of summer vacation. We had a lot of fun. Valleyfair Friday, housework that included skim coating a wall for painting and lifting with Jitters Junior Saturday, lunch at a hibachi with Pizzazz's sister and family followed by my 9 year old nephew's birthday party on Sunday and an end of summer pool party on Monday. Yesterday, JJ, Jitter Bug, and Pizzazz (works at the elementary school) started school and had a blast. JJ was at his new middle school. Nervous for his first day, came back with loads of stories. His favorite was his science teacher that ate a lit candle. I don't have all the details yet, but sounds like a fun class. JB got to see all of her friends and her teacher is big on sports, so they are a Team this year. All smiles. Pizzazz had a few hiccups with the computer system, but all in all, she felt good being back and seeing all of the kids. We went out to dinner last night to celebrate a good first day. This morning is overcast and wet from the rain over the last few days. So of course, I decided to go for my first run in probably a year. Thought I could start at a mile as a base. I was wrong. So very wrong. Leg started giving me trouble around 1/4 mile in. Powered through to 1/2 mile and had to walk the rest of the way. I will reast, stretch, and build up in the future. I have to get back to it. I am very seriously considering the hammer race next month. Have a great day everyone!
  7. If it's weird and it works, it's not weird. You may be interested to hear that my 11 year old son recently (last week) started to read Harry Potter. He was pretty disappointed in the first two chapters, but muscled through and is enjoying reading every night. I will have to start reading it as well, he seems to want to talk about it.
  8. It absolutely is so good. Then I come into work and the new receptionist is always bringing in really unhealthy treats to share... I never knew I needed that gif in my life until I did. Thank you for that. I do like me some yaking. I will need to bring them home next week so I can catch some time around here.
  9. It's that time again for: This weekend was pretty awesome. Got some kayaking done on Saturday and realized that I haven't yaked in a long time. All summer, in fact. Felt good to work my arms. Until Sunday... when I painted the front hallway. That could have been planned better. Ate well this weekend. Not just really good food, but controlled my portions well and skipped a lot of the junk. Homemade hummus, really tasty burgers, and stir fry on the grill. So good. Happy Monday everyone. Go forth, and be awesome!
  10. Knowing absolutely nothing about HP (have yet to read the books or watch the movies), I decided to see where this takes me. And my results are thus: Ravenclaw House Patronus is a Wild Rabbit My wand is a 13" pear wood with a dragon heartstring core and pliant flexibility. Ilvermorny house is Thunderbird Now, can anyone tell me what all of this means?
  11. Citizens of Jitterlandia, hear me! I have come from the past to bring you: News. Last night was pretty awesome. Jitters Junior is starting middle school and we had an open house to go to. He saw a lot of his friends and we got to meet his teachers and other staff. They all seem really great. I'm excited for his next adventure in schooling. He seems to be as well. Jitter Bug had her Girl Scout meeting and had a blast with a safety demonstration and making clothes pin dolls. One side looked like a Daisy and the other was a Brownie. They bridge next month. I got some good stretching in. It astounded me how tight I have been recently and how much looser I felt afterwards, especially in my shoulders and neck. Feeling good this morning. I answered three new emails for new stained glass pieces as well. I like new projects. So looking at all of this, it seems mundane, but I have to say, getting the kids to bed on time so I can do things like a long stretching session on glass work goes a long way for me.
  12. What is up, Home Skillet?

    1. Ahyar Dreamspark

      Ahyar Dreamspark

Heeeyyyy! Cosplay-related stress and panic is up, as usual--I leave for DragonCon in two days, lol. Things are generally way better overall, though :) It's good to hear from you! Seeing your MegaMan rocking out icon pop up on my NF notifications first thing on a Monday morning made me smile, haha. How have you been?

  13. Way to stick to your food, Kat! Proud of you on that run, too. Keep kicking ass.
