  3. Squats, and 'core' exercises are always good. At the end of the day, hiking is great training for hiking. Water is a good weight as you can pour it out if you are feeling it too much.

  5. Are you sure you will need 70L? The bigger the bag the more you are tempted to bring... REI don't sell Gosamer Gear as far as I know, its mail order only I think, but they are really helpful.
  6. Another respawner... who'd of thunk it at this time of year? Exiled northerner in the south. (Did a classic 150Kgs to 118Kgs in 12 months, followed by getting back to 150 in the following 7...)
  7. Merrel Moab Ventilators are my day to day shoes. Keen Taghees and Voyageur shoes (Same shoe essentailly but Taghee's are waterproof) are my usual hiking shoe. I'm well overweight and never had a problem with shoes.

  9. I use X-bionic boxers, but others have recommended Under-Armour or ExOfficio. I also have used Lanacane Anti-chaffing gel. Seams to work well.

  13. In the 4 weeks since coming back from Nepal I think I've put on about 7Kgs.... funny thing is I can see this in my face! Ha you got to love the brain! (didn't mean to put that much weight on, I've just gone a bit off message...!)
