  1. Whatever they played. Static X, RATM, Rob Zombie, Slipknot, Metallica, Megadeth, Machinehead. A good night. Fair bit of ska for some skanking as well! Went to the gym on Tuesday. 5x70kg, 3x5x100kg 1x5x110kg 1x2x120kg. I think I could have lifted more of the 120kg but form felt a bit bad and I'd had my dinner in my throat since about set 2 of the 100kg. So I moved onto OHP where after 2x5x45kg I saw my hand was bleeding a smidge. Got on with another set of 5 and it was actually really hurting my hand and making it bleed quite a bit. So I tapped out. Had to wait for my lodger to finish as I was giving him a lift. He certainly didn't consider that I might be waiting. Not that I'd want him to cut his prayers (in the church of iron) short but he started telling me about this new accessory he'd added that week! W*****! So I ran. Ran. Ran some more. Ran for ages, real slow but still I ran. Ran till I couldn't be arsed anymore. He still had sets left so I went for the only seat in the place. On a stationary bike thing. Eurgh I hate them. Hand's okay just a rip on a callus. I'll glove up for a fortnight or so.
  2. I have severe DOMS in my neck from headbanging. Severe!
  3. Oh Cap, you're one of those! I help enough people in the gym by tidying up their weights for them. Ptschah who needs Farmers Walks? Jellilegs, why I oughta! This is the point where ideally I'd come up with a new name for yourself or Radio Rowan. However I have nothing!
  4. What an awesome onebine. (see Look Around You on youtube) Yeah I know sleep is a solver. My old job I used to get so tired I'd just feel like sitting in a corner and weeping. It's why I left. It's just trying to find some sleeps that is the difficult one. It hides it's self away! I think my next holiday is Christmas hols unfortunatly. Anyhow got to the gym last night. It was weird. Weights room packed but dead. Like silent. No racks for ages so got a bench while my gym buddy sullenly waited for like 25 minutes. Got on with some db Chest press and pec flys. Got to the rack and got some squats in. LIGHT weight still felt heavy. Could barely stand with 100kg on my back when I picked it up to see what it would feel like (bear in mind I did 90kg 2 months or so ago and haven't been able to do more than about 70kg since.) Suffice to say I didn't squat 100kg. Need to really sort my squatting out. Anyway got some bench press in. Halfway through set 4 some dude who'd just got there came over as I was raising the bar and basically took half the weight and said "Two more come on, it's all you" It was really hard to push out two more as I was cracking up. Frellin' hilarious, step away from my bar! Then hit the down stairs plate-leg press for a bit. It's much better than the stack machine updtairs. The guys before were doing like 600kg! I was hitting for 387kg for 8 three times so I'm pretty sure the quad part of my squat is fine. Anyway hit the calf donkey (seated calf raise), Prone leg curl a run and some rollering. Rolling seems preety good for the knee. I'm pretty certain I need to find a decent sticky back foam to make my own roller. I think the knee is partly tightness in the IT bands and partly muscle imbalance now. Legs are a little jelly like today so all's good.
  5. You know, working out is probably more important than posting about it! Keep up the good work!
  6. ARGHH Salesmen. I used to have to deal with their flouncy words, pointy shoes and girly flares. That was just the guys. If I see a specification that says "a fully integrated system" without a cause and effect table again I will scream! (Maybe with joy if I'm now the customer) Just remember it's never the salesmen's fault and actually the company gets what they deserve having salesmen that sell cornflakes one day and technology the next!
  7. I went to uni with a kaaner. A good guy therefore being British one must take the michael in all forms available!
  8. Hmm I saw a review by a J. Ochre that said she was the best psychiatrist he'd ever had!
  9. Is grumpy cat upset that you're looking at the boobies of the wearer or is he grumpy because the boobies are covered? What does it say about your psyche that you chose to put up grumpy cat?
  10. Yeah when the shift pattern allows. It will also allow mornings for sleeping. I sleep much better in the morning than at night.
  11. True dat! Some people will win at all costs, some will watch the world burn for no cost!
  12. You failed the getting time to yourself part as a mother who the week previous was attempting to not steal time away from your children and when you do manage 10 minutes you decide not to count it. I'm not suprised. Did you waste the time? In effect stealing your meditation time away from yourself or were you useful? Do you do better with a manual meditation? A simple repetitive task that allows you to clear your mind like washing plates or I don't know what...polishing silverware? You think you do terrible with your goals and yet all I tend to see is someone who's got it together. I'll grant I'll only get snapshots and only you know. Good luck this week, I know I'm thankful for a ships captain that doesn't seem so lost in the woods!
  13. Do you not have a games shop anywhere near you? My local has a thing where mondays and fridays you can use the games library for a nominal fee after normal store hours are over. It's basically the owners have the largest games collection ever and justify it by allowing people to come and play them and occasionally making a sale of the back of that!
  14. A bit of both I guess. I don't sleep well after the gym. I get back usually at 2130 shower, dry hair and relax and it's 2330 or so before I can get to be in a place to sleep. I think that's just how it's gonna happen and I could deal with that I think but the rest days I end up sitting rather than sleeping and weekends keep filling up. I'm also coming of a certain age where I don't feel so great two or three days after drinking. I think the walk, the stress of the job interview, the lack of sleep and all the other crap is adding up. I'll be honest lifting is kinda adding to it as I'm aware I need to get back. My lifting goal isn't suspended as yet but I think I'll be looking for an increase on the DL/Bench/OHP but maybe not even so high. Another 5kg on each I'd take as a positive at this stage. Last night I seriously struggled to get to the gym. Even thought about getting in some bw circuits at home instead but I'd told a friend I'd be there. So I went and kinda went through the motions. 1x5x70kg, 3x5x90kg 1x5x100kg deadlifts. 8, 10 and then 8 reps of 35kg on OHP. Assisted pulls, a short jog to get warmed up and cool down, some rolling of the IT bands (which have helped my knee a little) Yesterday rather than think of it I rang the soft tissue helpline. Sounded kinda pitiful. On a scale of 1 to 10 where's the pain at? Well 3 to 5. How much are your activities effected errrm a 3? (Probably more, running and lifting I think but oh well) Anyway despite it sounding crap matey referred me for an assesment and follow up with a physio. So I'm getting it sorted.
  15. Well gymnasium does mean.... No. Can you imagine someone walking in on you squatting. I think pr0n would be easier to explain!
  16. Awfully. Went away Wednesday night and the hotel has a pool/excuse-for-a-gym. Ended up eating dinner instead of going as none of us could be bothered. Then the next morning I was out early for an 0900 start the half hour away from my hotel room. 0900-1030 mingling with breakfast! GRRR I'd got up early and had a good breakfast when I could have gone for a dip!! :@ Then being driven home in the afternoon I was falling asleep in the back of the car. Got back and should have gone to the gym but just couldn't. Need more sleepz! So I figured I'd go on Saturday. Got a massive nosebleed halfway through Dragon Riders of Berk and still feel kinda vaccuous on that side of my head two days later. A little worried about straining with a lift tonight... I'm struggling. I can't seem to get the sleep in the week at the minute and two days of weekend isn't enough.
  17. PUPPY! What's the 'kaaner word for puppy? I only know rude words.
  18. URGHH! Don't get me started. In the UK one of the governing bodies (GNAS) required you to wear either registered club colours or GNAS colours. This includes a choice of white or green trousers. Only the green trousers have to be bottle green, pantone number and everything. Even talking about adding black trousers to the mix (gods forbid camoflage of any kind) on UK archery forums results in conversations being closed. That's only competition though. Practise shoots and club shoots should only need sensible clothing (not too baggy, not likely to catch in the string, sensible shoes/trainers/boots...)
