The key thing is moderation. Maybe have one bottle instead of a pint or a single instead of a double. I usually go down the 1/2 beer or single vodka, soda and lime cordial route. That said its cost depends bar to bar. Got stuck in a suburban bar/cafe last week for a mates birthday that charged £6 for a vodka and soda with lime!!!! Daylight Robbery!

I don't want to thread hijack and if I should create this as a stand alone one I will however I'm in a similar boat. I'm the other end of the spectrum to JDudez in I'm just starting out. I'm currently 5'7.5 tall and weigh in at 234lbs Id like to shift my weight down to around the 170lb mark and start gaining some muscle over the next 12/ 14 months I know it wont be easy but I'm determined. Currently on a calorie deficit diet consuming approx 1400-1600 per day and combing with basic strength training. Is this a good way to lose weight and tone at the same time or is the task of losing this much body mass and building muscle nigh on impossible. Should i still be eating like 2000 cals a day but balancing it out with a hell of a lot more exercise or am I going about this wrong? Total fitness noob but thought this thread would be a good place to start. Again apologies if I have trod on any toes. I will start separate if needed. Cheers in advance! -
Hello! So the names GoodbyeSkyHarbour I'm a 25 year old London based Computer Science grad now working in the 'wonderful' world of IT. Job isn't what i was hoping it would be in terms of career now so in order to do something positive I am seriously wanting to get back to shape. My first year of uni I dropped down to a comfortable size however as my job involves a lot of desk work and its been quite easy to slip into lazy routines since leaving uni and I'm ashamed to say I've stacked on rather a few pounds. I tried calorie counting before but always weighed from it so I'm hoping with the help of the community Ill stay on track and show real results. I'm currently 5'7.5 tall and weigh in at 234lbs Id like to shift my weight down to around the 170lb mark and start gaining some muscle by this time next year but I know it wont be easy. I'm undertaking a new regime mixing running, some swimming, and a bit of strength training (basic strength guide then building to Body weight division) as a added fun element I'm going be trying to use video games to exercise. Specifically the many variation of DDR/ Dancing Stage that I own! Also as a note from above people can probably see I'm into my pop punk/ rock/metal music. Im interested in hearing peoples top workout playlists /songs from these kind of Genre's So yeah. Looking forward to this journey and making some new friends along the way!
