Ready to start the first challenge! I'm rounding the bend in life (47 years old) and not happy with my current fitness level. It's time to get up and get moving - an object in motion stays in motion and this challenge is the little push I need to get started. Life is too short to watch it pass by while I'm too winded to catch up. I'm male, 5'10", 180 lbs. I used to be active years ago but a desk job, long work hours and a long commute have really taken a toll. I think the Earth's gravity has increased in the past couple of years because it seems most of my upper body mass has been pulled down to around my waist. Main goal : Develop a healthy lifestyle that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I want to be around for my family and friends for years. My measurable goal is to lose 15 lbs. and get down to around 15 - 18% body fat (or less). Task 1: Do the Beginners Bodyweight Routine three times a week. Task 2 : Walk a total of five miles a day (morning walks, walk at lunch, evening walks) Task 3 : Transition to the Paleo Diet by trying a Paleo meal every day. Task 4 : Try a new type of meditation or relaxation exercise every week of the challenge (Tai Chi, yoga, meditation, etc.).
