  1. I finished the zombie run on Friday. 36 minutes to do the 5k. Then I walked the rest. I was wondering - at the end of the run I got quite teared up. Like I was going to start sobbing. I'm not really one to cry at films or books and I was wondering if it was the exercise.
  2. I just wanted to say a big thank you for the comprehensive overview. I only have one 5k mission left and was curious about the real missions
  3. Wow week 8 workout 2 just kicked my ass! I think I was running a lot faster (doubling up on sports bras really helped) - I covered 7km and was almost dead by the end. No calf pain and feeling buzzy now. Runners high is such a thing - really didn't believe in it before I started.
  4. I used to get hit on a lot working as a bartender at weddings. I found the best way to move them on was to start air headedly taking about my "boyfriend" (who didn't exist at the time). It'd be like: Guy: so do you do this sort of thing a lot? Me: oh well my boyfriend and I are moving in together so I'm just picking up some extra cash. Oh my God I'm so excited, he's like super buff and rally sweet. You could be like: Guy: you should call me and we could go for a run together You: oh well I normally run with my boyfriend and I wouldn't want you to feel like the third wheel.
  5. I hit 5k in week 3 as well. I would assume it's because you're running all of it. If you can run it all and aren't getting lots of injuries then you're unlikely to be going too fast. Well done!
  6. Last week of 5k training. Did all the free form running bits. I certainly think that most of my "walls" are mental rather than physical. I always want to stop about 1 minute before the end of a run. Whether it's a 5 minute run, a 10 minute run or a 20 minute run.
  7. Thank you! 20km sounds so much! Congratulations.
  8. Thank you! 20km sounds so much! Congratulations.
  9. Week 7 workout 2 complete. I'm running all of the free form parts and have been since week 3. I'm also noticing an increase in my time. Like I ran further today than I did on Monday on the same schedule.
  10. No one has mentioned rewards. It doesn't work for everyone but if every time you choose NOT to go out for lunch you put the money in a tin and then when you have enough use it to get something you want. Or just look at the end of the month at how much you have saved. Money can be a big motivator for people
  11. I personally use my tdee for little/no exercise and then calculate exercise separately and eat back exercise cals. I'm a maths teacher and love numbers though so I don't mind doing the extra number work. I also feel there is a difference between an hour of yoga and an hour of running so it means I don't stress that I'm not doing enough exercise for my tdee
  12. Don't stress, once you get started it's pretty easy. I just count calories not macros and I automatically shifted to more protein and fat, less carbs because the food that is not worth my calories that I used to eat is high carb. I have consistently lost 1-2 pounds a week for 3 1/2 months and never feel hungry. My big big tip, which I wish I'd done before when I tried and failed to lose weight is to concentrate on long term. If you have a bad day don't stress, forgive yourself and get back on it straight away. If you don't lose one week then don't stress you'll probably lose next week. If you don't notice a difference straight away then don't stress one day you'll notice and it'll be worth it. Good luck. In six months you'll be so glad you made the change and didn't just leave it for another day
  13. It so is. I always use my name as my tag and the number of times in computer games guys have ignored my really good plans or told me to "be quiet and go make us sandwiches" is ridiculous. I actually really dislike MMOs because I get sick of the constant stream of degrading sexism. I also hate that if I've just gotten a new game guys are like "see all girls suck at games". No everyone sucks at games they've only played for half an hour.
  14. Have a hot bath. It'll help circulation and so help the healing. Also chocolate milk apparently has the perfect mix of protein and carbohydrates to help repair muscles.
  15. To be honest it's probably a strain or a crack because you can still walk on it even if it is painful. In a week it two it will have fixed itself. That's not long enough to do any damage to muscle mass, you will be fine
