  1. Challenge is going well. It's an intense workout, which is why I'm only doing it 2x per week. That way I've got 3-4 days to recover in between. Food options are just going to be limited. But I found some Little Debbie's on sale. Comfort food is always good for breaking up the monotony.
  2. Thanks, Manarelle! I'm pulling a dry box right now, but I've got a nice shiny dedicated run that gets me home every weekend. I will admit that I miss my flatbed days, but right now, I can't complain. Yeah... Beans, canned tuna, and apples gets old after a few days. I guess it makes me appreciate home cooking more. Counting my blessings...
  3. Finished reading Skin Game (again), the latest (?) in Jim Butcher's Dresden Files, hence the title. In other news, my latest occupation is Truck Driver, so I can't take all my Ranger and Warrior gear with me, so I figured it was about time to come find out what the Assassins are all about. Challenges: 1. Bodyweight circuit twice a week. 20 Burpees 20 Crunches 20 Pushups 20 Lunges 20 Bicycle Crunches Pullups to Failure Repeat x3 2. Eat well over the road. Lots of canned tuna and corned beef hash and protein powder. Multivitamins are a must! Need to figure out how to keep leafy greens in stock and fresh. 3. "James Bond Shower". Starts hot, to loosen the muscles; ends cold, to reduce swelling and increase metabolism. Life Goal. Socialize! The last year-ish has been really hard. Lots of frustration and drama, unfortunately. But I need to make the effort to break out of the shell I've built for myself. (Not unlike Harry camping out on Demonreach Island, actually) The only 'net I've got right now is a schizoid smartphone with limited data, but I'll try and update on weekends at least.
  4. Good to be back. Lots of changes in the last few months, haven't been able to do a lot consistently. But this week, I started the "Couch 2 5K" program, joined a gym, and started the Strong Lifts 5x5 program. Looks like I came back a little late for the Challenge, but I'll be cheering for everybody nevertheless!
  5. 40 pushups every day and workouts on weekends just isn't sustainable right now. I am working out twice a week now. The other days I'm just focusing on eating right and sleeping well. I think this will be much more sustainable, and easier to manage around my work schedule.
  6. Started a new job this week. I'm Safety/Security Associate with Walmart now. I spend a lot of time on my feet everyday, so I'm adjusting my workouts in accordance. Every morning I do 40 pushups and a 60 second plank before breakfast. On weekends I'll actually do a full workout. I'll change it up every weekend just to keep it fresh.
  7. 4 sets of 10 pushups and 3 pullups. 40 squats 20 jumping lunges (each leg)
  8. 2 mile run. 4 sets of 10 pushups and 2 pullups.
  9. Been behind on workouts due to the move, but I'm on track now. Just ran through the first round of Typhoon yesterday and then cooled off with a cold swim and a hot shower. I'm actually not sore today, just a little shaky. Think I might be on to something there...
  10. Side Quest: "Tranquil as a forest, but on fire within!" Of course no man is complete without man juice (ie, testosterone). I recently read a rather nerdy article over at www.artofmanliness.com about the benefits of T and how to increase your leves naturally. The two things that stood out most were green tea and the "James Bond shower", so those have become a regular part of my day now.
  11. Exactly! If you're not failing your last reps, you're not pushing hard enough!
