  1. A coworker of mine told me about this and now its a a part of my breakfast at least once or twice a week. I add a bit of oatmeal to mine and throw it all in the blender. Since bananas vary in size it takes a couple tries to feel out what proportions will result in the consistency you want. But, I've noticed that adding some oatmeal really helps bind the ingredients together. I always have frozen berries on hand so the berry syrup is something I'll have to try !
  2. Any good recommendations for a belt suitable for adding barbell plates to for weighted pull ups at home? Looking to purchase one because i do most of my pull up exercises at home on my iron gym and would like to start adding weight. For example, the belt that this man is wearing: http://officercandidatesschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/20-pullups-pull-ups-pft-usmc.jpg
  3. Pullups have become an integral exercise in my workout routine as of late and was wondering about the effects of different variations of the pullup. I recently came across my old iron gym doorway pullup and have been fooling around with different grips but mostly just do regular pullups when I go to the gym. I'm Mostly interested in the effects of pullups vs: widegrip pullups; parallel grip pullups; close grip pullups; switch grip etc. From reading Steve's posts I've learned that regular pullups are best for an overall/back workout and that chinups are more of a bicep isolated exercise but haven't found much else on the other variations. Personal experiences and scientific findings are welcomed alike! My apologies if there has already been a post on this topic. I tried serching for it on the forums and came up empty.
  4. Hi there. I stumbled across NF about 3 weeks ago and have been reading a bunch of Steve's blog posts and linked articles and have since learned a lot. I have always been an active person (playing sports, running, BJJ etc.) but have never really dabbled with weight lifting or the gym at all for that matter. Now, In between my junior and senior year of college, I figured I should introduce myself to the gym because I'd like to achieve my body's full potential. Obviously in order to do that I have to alter my diet a bit and have come here to this pool of knowledge to do so. I have a bunch of questions to ask the community here and of the few threads I've read so far I know I'm in the right place. I was hoping to find some info on: A list on what exactly is/isn't paleo (rice, quinoa, legumes? an others). Some help on how to build a workout regimen.Through my BJJ classes a lot of my fellow students seem to like kettlebell excerices because of the compound type exercise working more than just an isolated muscle. I was wondering what your take on kettlebells is?I guess if there are any good threads on those topics I would be grateful to be linked to. Thanks! Pawl
