  1. Friends don't let friends cook bacon naked or even mostly naked, OUCH! As for your new workout buddy, just be straight with him that you are going to build from Stonglifts but that is the current lift strategy you are working and would love for him to help keep you motivated and safe and once you are ready to move up/change up, you will certainly ask for his advice and leave it at that. If he is truly a friend, he will give you the help you asked for and if not, he will find someone else to misguide.
  2. Happy Respawn! On the flip side the week was not that bad, you were honest with yourself, kept plugging, took all those shots Mr. Murphy gave you and are back at it. Besides that crap is behind you so keep on keeping on.

  4. Week 2 Sunday already, ok so its really Monday, little late on yesterdays update. We had a bonfire last night an a cocktail turned into a couple anyways here is the Sunday update: Rebel Reductions - No scheduled weights or treadmill today, had a long morning walk with my buddy in the park and 10K steps in a busy day. Did something to my right shoulder on Saturday, not sure what the issue is but it hurts to raise is above my shoulder, hot shower helped. Will see how it feels Monday morning for upper body lifting. Ate well besides the couple bourbons I had at the fire and a bit of local honey to help quite my cough. Jedi training - Rest day after Friday and Saturdays intense training, worked thru some of the stretches and techniques the master instructor discussed with me on Saturday. Rebel Finances - Moved the book when I was cleaning house, no other progress. Rebel Security - See Rebel Finances. Need to work on better planning and scheduling to insure the finance and security challenges get their due. I keep forgetting meditation, not to do it but to log it, hit 5 days last week. Talk to you all later with Mondays update.
  5. Wow, is week 1 over already, where does the time go? Rebel reductions - The plague of the dark side will not keep me down, predawn park walk with my buddy, no scheduled weights today. Clean and mean breakfast and lunch, planned treat meal of pizza with the little guy while we watched Return of the King. Jedi training - All belt class this morning even if it was all senior belts except one student. A couple of students that had been away for a while were back today, one got married and the other was back with his son who broke his collar bone over the summer, it was like old home week. Good class, lots of jumping kicks, tired and sore tonight. Rebel finances - No progress today. Rebel security - Studied for 45 minutes. Week 1 was good, eating and exercise wise, Taekwondo was pretty good, finances and studying not as good as they should have been, need to give a little more focus there and get them scheduled. Onward to week 2 with success and improvement.
  6. Happy Friday everyone, hope all is well in the rebellion and the adventurers guild house. Rebil reductions - The dark side and this sinus thing I have conspired to keep me from getting much sleep and what little I got was after the lights came on. Slow roll this morning but hit my upper body weight lifting and my 30 minute treadmill session. Calories were trending a bit high but macros, esp protein were good. Jedi training - Did 2 classes tonight, all belt family review and Master Mikes stretching and hip hop cadio kick boxing class. With class tomorrow, I will be on track for the week. Rebel finances - No progress today. Rebel security - No progress today. Friday is in the books, had a couple good classes tonight and a good day otherwise. Watched the new International Star Wars trailer, couple different scenes which were pretty cool. Hope everyone is having a rocking week.

Rebel reductions - Had zero interest in getting out of bed this morning, fighting a little cold/sinus infection my son and wife have been fighting, BUT I sucked it up, macked out my dead lifts and then hit the treadmill for my 30 minute walk. Good eating day, calories good, macros pretty good. Grocery shopping tonight to stock up on good stuff for the next week. Jedi training - while I got my workout in, did not do any TKD today. Mostly busy, I had the boy, my wife was out most of the day and evening and grocery shopping pretty much put a stake in me. No worries, double class tomorrow. Rebel finances - No progress today. Rebel security - No progress today. Time for a Jedi healing trance and some sleep. Until tomorrow my fellow adventurers.
  8. Is it day for 4 already, where does the time go? Rebel reductions - Upper body weight lifting this morning, feel a move up coming in triceps. 30 minute treadmill walk. Calories and macros were great, ate like a champ and feel good. Jedi training - Argh, the dark side intruded into my afternoon and I had a late meeting so I missed class tonight, wife took the little guy. I did practice my form so not a total loss. I also got an award at the company meeting that kept me late, which was a nice surprise. I keep forgeting meditation, not to do it but to log it, so yeah, did that as well. Rebel finances - Read 30 minutes of TMM but did not finish chapter 3, whew its a long one. Rebel security - Studied for 30 minutes. New Force Awakens posters out today, they look pretty sweet, I really like the Han Solo one. See you all tomorrow.
  9. I get my fitting/test a week from Saturday, I think they have me slated for the small model as I am concerned about too much around my face. Thanks for sharing the info and experience.
  10. Maintaining progress and taking stock of how far you have come is challenge enough. And breathing it beats the alternative, definitly keep that up.
  11. Thank you so much, I have been in a pretty good place mentally and motivation wise but having others notice and it show in my health numbers was a real boost.
  12. Great challenge, I too am working on making Primal stick and be consistent. Learning to love almond milk, we are still in like. What type of Taekwondo do you practice?

  14. Some serious challenges as part of this challenge. Good luck! I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea as well and will get my CPAP in a couple weeks. Interested to hear about your experience.
  15. Day 3 was AWESOME, hope you all had a great day. Rebel Reductions - Moved up in deadlifts today, 30 minutes on the treadmill. Had my 3 month checkup with the cardiologist today and that was the awesome part. She said I looked great, my numbers were really good and halved the dosage of one of my 2 BP meds as I was getting so low!!!! Next appointment is 6 months now, can't wait. Ate well, calories were great, protien amount was good but went over just a bit on carbs, dang grapes they were so tasty and refreshing. Jedi training - MD appt, election day, and council meeting ate all my time today. Rebel Finances - MD appt, election day, and council meeting ate all my time today. Rebel Security - MD appt, election day, and council meeting ate all my time today. On one hand not a lot of progress on the other LOTS of hard work starting to show. Gonna go watch some election returns and work the phones a bit, see you all tomorrow.
  16. Had my 3 month checkup with the cardiologist this morning and she said I looked great, down 48 pounds on her scale, BP running low and Triglycerides down over 100 points! She asked what I was doing, primal, walking, lifting, keeping carbs between 50 and 100. She not only said to keep it up but that I could half the dosage of one of my 2 remaining healing potions. She did a double take when she saw me and then looked over my chart, it felt pretty darn good. Next appt is in 6 months, backing off from the every 3 month visit schedule, another win. Today did not feel like a cheat but a legitimate victory! Another battle won but the war continues and I must remain vigilant and consistent!

Day 2 in the books, here is the report from the front: Rebel Reductions - Good weight session this morning and 30 minutes of treadmill time. Updated measurements today, down 5 total inches on my waist! Ate ok today, calories were good but macros not as good. Rebuffed those imperial agents today! Jedi training - Black belt prep class tonight, did all our forms and 1 steps, the assistant instructor told me my current form looked good and keep up the good work! Learned my new 1 steps, ok not sure I know them yet but at least saw them and got to practice a couple times. Rebel Finances - Read chapter 2 of TMM. Rebel Security - Studied for 30 minutes, material was not totally foreign which is a good sign. Solid day 2, consistency is the key. Picked up a couple new plates to move up tomorrow on dead lifts, excited now, hopefully feel that way when I am done tomorrow. My 3 month checkup with the cardiologist tomorrow, hoping for an adjustment to the amount of Bacta I have to take daily. See you all tomorrow!   23. Greetings fellow adventurous Rebels and welcome do day 1 week 1. Emperial reductions - no scheduled weights or treadmil today, my buddy ditched me for the park walk but the weather was too nice this morning so I went anyway and did the 2.5 mile loop on my own, it was glorious! Treat meal of the week is already out of the way, have not had my wifes blueberry pancakes since June so planned it and savored it. Pretty well on plan the rest of the day but emperial spies snuck a Halloween Reese cup or two my way. Normally it would been a full cargo ship worth so progress continues. Jedi Training - Did my 5 minutes of meditation, went pretty well, did not doze off and the couple times my mind started to wander or race, realized it quickly and brought it back into breath focus. Did my current form and practiced one steps. Finance the Rebellion - Read chapter 1 of Total Money Makeover, not too painful but I am sure the lessons await. Secure the Rebellion - Sunday chores and cleaning up after the Halloween festivities dominated the day so no progress here but none expected, study time scheduled thru the week.
