  1. Thanks I'm going to try to stay out of most places in the store where I have to google translate what I'm eating. The only place I should be having to do that is the meat, where I need to know if I'm grabbing ground pork or ground chicken haha! Today I was pretty good. I didn't do a work-out, but I did walk for about 2 hours back and forth to town and school drop-off and what not. It wasn't a heart-pumping cardio, but that's for tomorrow's actual work-out. Eating went well today. I stuck to nuts, fruit, veggies and meat. Also, the fridge is cleaned out. The sodas are gone. I quit cold-turkey on those once before, so I KNOW I can do it again.
  2. Oh wow! Way to go! How does the fasting work for you?
  3. I know what you mean about the cold. It tends to make me want to hibernate in my sweatpants. Good luck!
  4. Today I: 1. Went and got a mini blender so I can make fruit smoothies for lunch instead of bread and brie sandwiches. 2. Did a 25 minute DDP Yoga workout. 3. Walked for a while (Guess I should figure out how to use my pedometer or something... :/ )
  5. Howdy! I've recently moved to Norway from Canada and in 4 months I've gained about 12 lbs. Right now I have a closet full of clothes and, not counting sweatpants, only two pairs of pants that fit. To highlight my complete and total lack of will power, last night I ate a bag of oreos and something called a "Lion" bar after I packed my kids off for bed. I looked at the wrappers after I'd done that and thought "Yeah... this isn't sustainable." Today, I woke up and a friend posted a little blurb about fitness and I decided to pop by here to see if anything was new and lo - RESPAWN DAY! Hell yeah! Anyway, my goal is to work out at least 4 times a week. My biggest challenge is my diet. I don't know if you've heard about the bread in this country but OMG. It all has flavor - different flavors even. I love bread and bread loves my hips. It's time to clean out my fridge (I'm pretty sure I have some cursed food items in there with negative stat bonuses) and get back into the fight. I'm pouring out the cokes and shoving my husband's candy bars on the top shelf where I can't reach them. (I'm pretty lazy, so getting a ladder out of the basement to get to the candy bars is going to be way more effort than I want to deal with.) Goals: 1. Work out 4 times a week. 2. Reach for fruit instead of chocolate 3. Be active on the forums and meet some people 4. Fit into all my pants by February 5. Stay out of the crap aisles of the grocery store Assets: 1. I don't own a car, so I have to walk everywhere or take the bus (which still involves a good bit of walking). 2. I have to carry my groceries home, so I can't buy a lot at a time, and have to walk there every day. 3. Stay at home mom so I have time during the day to exercise Challenges: 1. Bread 2. Packaging labels - I can't read them, so it's hard to tell what is in food sometimes. Even raw meat is sometimes sold pre-salted. 3. Self Control - I have none. Good luck fellow respawners!!! Let's go kick some butt!
  6. Wow! You've been busy! I know it's helpful for me to get stuff cleared off the plate (so to speak) in order to get my goals accomplished. Well done!
  7. Whew! It's been a busy week, but I've behaved fairly well! The weather's been nice, so I was able to get a couple of park workouts in. My kids turned 7, and one of them absolutely SMOKED me on the bars. It's one of those that goes in an oval shape and she lapped me. I've found that I weenie out on them because my hands get sore trying to grip, so this week I'm going to get some better gloves or something. I think I did encourage another mom to get out and play too. She was sitting on the bench looking very bored and after she saw me playing around, she got up and started to climb around too. So yay for her too! My food intake has remained pretty good. I had a couple of days where I only managed to cram in 1k worth of calories, so I went to the store and grabbed some nuts to munch on. Who knew 350 calories could fit in the palm of my hand. My glove is finished! The paint job looks fabulous - if only my cut-work were as great hah! Next time I'm going to suck it up and learn how to install LED lights. Maybe that will be my goal for the next challenge ;D
  8. Hello fellow fledgling! I hope you're feeling better. Take good care of yourself!
  9. Day 2 and so far so good. Workout: I'm 2 for 2! The weather has been kind of icky, so both days have been indoors. Tomorrow looks to be nice, so I'm going to take the noobasaurs to the park and chase them around while they ride bikes. Diet: My diet's been clean, but my calories are still a bit low. Both days I've clocked in around 1300, but that's with some help of protein shakes and some Kashi granola bars. My workouts aren't too strenuous yet, so I'm not going to stress overmuch about how much more I need to eat. Photos: I suck and haven't followed through with this yet. If it's not crowded at the park tomorrow I'll get the girls to video my monkey bar attempts. The bathroom scale is hiding under the waste bin. Out of sight - out of mind. Sub-Quest: My gauntlet is coming along well! I've got the plasti-dip coat done, next up some adhesion promoter. My seams look god-awful, but for a first time craft foam project I'm going to cut myself some slack.
  10. I went with lowercase "k." I promise not to cheese it!
