  1. I have to eat something, otherwise I'm hopeless. Something small. Then have my proper breakfast after my run. I don't enjoy super early starts at all tho! I would much prefer evening running if I had to choose. But morning gets it done and then you can always fit in a double session if you are keen!
  2. Quinoa porridge with any combo of cinnamon, honey, berries, cranberries, apricots, apple, banana and maybe some Greek yogurt. Or pancakes. Eggs in any form. Love omelettes as well because you can add in any of last nights left overs. Or the left overs themselves!
  3. I'm testing the dairy/yogurt theory. Will keep you posted!
  4. Yeah agree, make sure you really are giving your hip flexors a good stretch. Hopefully means you can get awesome depth whilst maintaining your form. I've also found sucking my core in tight helps
  5. Title says it all really, what are the best apps out there for iPhone concerning paleo and recipes?
  6. Could be from cutting out soda? That made me feel pretty rubbish!
  7. Thanks for that, just wanted to know if anyone had ones that had worked well. Will make sure I add these in to my programme
  8. Cleans are killing my wrists, anyone got some good stretches?
  9. Amazing news, so thrilled for you both!
  10. Wow don't be like that about cricket! What's wrong with it? Yeah it is reasonably important to be firing on all cylinders so might try and find a different time to do it. Or save it up for a race in an awesome location
  11. The simple tips I got was sit down further, sit down as far as you can. If you fall out of the pose just get straight back into it. Chest up and back and allow yourself to sit down further then ever before. And just keep doing it, you will improve!
  12. Wow they look seriously cool. Had never even heard of them!
  13. I second that, awesome instructions for a struggling cook!
  14. 4 days of training and playing cricket. Pretty fatiguing stuff. Recover fine from runs up to 12km. 15km I'm a bit stiff and sore the next day and a bit leg wary for the couple of days after that. That's the max I have run so far.
  15. Try some hip mobility exercises, stretching and foam rolling. I get really tight thru the hips and it does not help squatting at all.
  16. I have the same issue. Cleans are pretty uncomfortable, not because of the effort involved but just because of the stress it puts on my wrists. Will try and do some wrist curls and see if this helps!
  17. If I really really want a certain thing I hold off as long as possible but sometimes you have to just eat it. Obviously not your body weight in it but a small bit. If you want to hold strong I suggest green tea, fruit for a bit of sweetness. Almonds if you like them. Sugar free mints can also help. This one is a bit ridiculous but if possible I go and brush my teeth. Minty freshness and I never feel like eating right after that!
  18. That is awesome! Had my first training back today after being sick with the flu. Made me feel horrendous but i did it. Every inch of me knows tomorrow will again be hell but these photos will get my but out the door!
  19. Will have to give these a go. I do love pancakes!
  20. Nope. I think I get all the vitamins I need from the whole food I'm eating. That's just me tho, not massive on sports drinks or drinking my calories.
  21. Christchurch born and bred
  22. Top post. Nothing makes me feel like my world is unravelling quite like being injured, getting sick and not being able to train. My brain decides if I'm sitting round doing nothing that it is hungry and wants bad foods! But definitely agree even when not able to train you can still eat like an athlete and it makes the world of difference, both to the waistline and to your mental health.
  23. Planks, side planks, glute bridge. Try activating your abs and glutes when you do other exercises.
  24. Get yourself a good support network. These people can help make you healthy lunches. Cook healthy dinners and will be generally aware how you are feeling and to try keep you on the healthy eating track. Biggest thing is people knowing how you are feeling and understanding what to achieve. Worst thing is eating bad foods when depressed may feel good in the moment but it doesn't afterwards, it just makes it worse, makes you feel lethargic and less likely to spnd time preparing quality food. Vicious cycle!
