  1. So, it's about time for an update. Or actually, I should have made an update two weeks ago. I've worked a lot the last three weeks, which didn't leave much energy for things besides family gatherings (Allright, and rpg's. One of which I actually left in the middle of a fight, because otherwise I would have fallen asleep at the table. We stil won.) Run On the upside: All this working means that I've done plenty for my first goal. I've definitely walked for hours three times a week. Or six times. I haven't done any running, which was according to plan, since running isn't a good idea if you've just walked for hours. But today I finally get to run again. Gain strength I've done wall-push ups three times the first week, forgot about it in first three days of the second week because I wasn't at my parent's house, so I only practised two times. Which wasn't very smart, my parents's house has more walls and doors to use than I have. I managed to get up to speed again in the third week and exercized 4 times. I've neatly written down my results and have since thrown away the note I've written it on. I do remember I did a 20-19 rep last week, but that was only once. So: 1: 3x 2: 2x 3: 4x Learn to fight Uh, does adamantly asking customers to pay for their things count? It's good to have a reminder of this goal though, otherwise I would keep putting it of forever. Life goal: Started. Not half as far as I wish I was.
  2. Thanks for the welcome everyone! And hello again, tseecka. Are you trying to be everywhere in my timeline? I haven't watched Supernatural or Once upon a time, but since I have to wait anyway, and everyone is recommending it, I think I want to check it out sometime. I also like The Big Bang Theory, but I don't follow it. A rerun is usually aired just after dinner, so I tend to see episodes completely out of order. Which does kind of funny things for their relationships in my head. (Like: Last week you had a relation with Priya. Three days ago you broke up with Penny. Yesterday you dated Leslie Winkle. And now you're wondering if you will ever get a girlfriend....) I think joining two groups is allowed, I've seen someone's name, Angelblaid I think, in two groups. But a more experienced user can tell you for sure.
  3. Thanks for the support! I wanted to try a martial arts for years, but I didn't, so I'm not that courageous But I noticed a picture on their website where they give a class in an old people's home, so I am sure I am not the least fit person they have given class to. So: I know the challenge hasn't started yet, but I do have an update. After all, you can't begin too early with starting good habits, can you? Run: I've run two times this week. Including once in the annoying damp heat we have here now. I feel kind of proud of that. I dislike heatwaves. I did the second run in 37 minutes. (That's not just 3 km, I'm not that out of shape, that's including the stairs and the walk towards the park and the warming up) I did have a whiny ankle though, which is annoying. Sword: This might be the hardest goal of the three. I had quite some muscle ache from those 2 sets of 7. Two days later, I still felt it, but I was able to do 2x5. I will skip the third time this week, to get some rest before next week. Fight: The krav maga classes have a summerstop, so contacting them will have to wait two weeks. But on a happier note: my boyfriend decided he wanted to try too, so we can go together.
  4. Hello, I'm Isle and I'm starting with my first challenge. I hope to get into shape to start an adventure. Right now, if I would notice a tardis, I am not able to run well enough to survive more then one episode. Which isn't a hindrance to becoming a companion, but I do prefer to stay alive. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock and Merlin (and Grimm and Firefly). I can't wait for three of them to start again. I still have half a season of Merlin left, so I have something to watch in the meantime.
  5. Hello tseecka and others, I noticed your accountibilibuddy group on sign up sheet and I put my name on it, even though there's not yet a threat yet. I just couldn't pass up on the chance to become a companion. I'm not yet an adventurer though, I'm trying to become one with my first challenge. I hope that's oke with you?
  6. Thanks for the support AngelBlaidd and Snow. I feel encouraged already! I am a bit nervous about Krav maga, friends have really strange reactions about me being interested in it. They have the idea that it's for tough guys, while I am neither tough nor a guy. But the website of the local classes specifically says it's for everyone, so I am going to see for myself.
  7. I love your idea of gaining treasure. I am going to steal it. Not literally of course, since rogue is not an available class , but I will think about what loot I will find after my first quest. Good luck with your missions.
  8. Main goal Be an adventurer For my first challenge, I want to make some changes and leave my comfortzone. However, I am not confident that I actually can go on adventures, like trying a sport or running 5k and succeed. I don't think I am fit nor strong enough. To change this, and most importantly: to gain more confidence in myself, I will start training to become an adventurer. My missions are: Run towards the adventure! I will move three times a week. This is either running/walking to a specific point (3km) or working, since that consists of walking for a couple of hours. A: 18 B: 17-16 C: 15-14 D: 13-12 E: 11-10 Gain the strength to hold a sword! I will do wall-push ups three times a week. I hope to be able to do a real push up by the end of the challenge. I will measure the effort though, not the goal. I will use Steve's post about push ups as a guideline, which means I start with wall push ups. If I can do 4 reps of 20 I will continue with incline push ups. I am now able to do 2 reps of 7. A: 17-18 B: 15-16 C: 13-14 D: 11-12 E: 9-10 My first fight! I will register for and go to a krav maga class to see if I like it. Life goal Conquer the paper monster! I have some paperwork I have to do. I've identified 12 tasks, and this list will probably grow some more. I will not list the specific tasks here. A: 90-100% B: 80-90% C: 70-80% D: 60-70% E: 50-60%
