  1. Hi Everyone! This is my 3rd challenge hoping that I don't fail it like I did with the other two. This time I will take it easier than before. Goal: Run from my house to the bus station without stopping. The distance is about 1.3 miles. To some, it may seem nothing but I've been sick the past year so I'm taking it really really easy. Steps: 1) I will jog about 2-3 times a week. 2) Yoga 2-3 times a week to stretch out muscles. 3) Eat 3500 calories a day. Life Challenges: Read a book: Currently reading "Howl's Moving Castle" by Diana Wynne Jones Take the exit exam to pre-calculus to take calculus. Record a mix. Any suggestions on music? I think this is good enough for this challenge.
  2. Sounds intense but you can do it! Makes me want to do the flying dragon in my future challenges!
  3. Just one more week to go! You can do this! Don't get sloppy when you get tired. It might become a habit. =/
  4. How are you doing with your progress? Hope you're doing well.
  5. Good job on your progress. Saw your recipes and they look so yummy!
  6. This sounds good! I'll give it a shot sometime. One more week to go! Woohoo!
  7. 11 - felt a bit better and went for a jog and some stretching but legs started to feel weird later at night. Maybe I pushed myself a little bit too much. 12 - Did leg lifts and squats. It hurt so good. I still don't see progress in toning but many people who saw me said I've gotten skinnier. Hence, I was sick. 13 - Tried to do a pull-up and almost fell flat on my back. Yikes! Last week for progress. Going to double the effort. A couple of my friends are helping me with the rest of the challenge and the next one coming up. Pretty excited getting help from a high school basketball/track&field coach and a soccer player.
  8. Still sick. Missed work for about a week because of the sinus infection and all I do is sleep to get my rest in. Sometimes I still can't sleep because my head is throbbing with pain. Dropped from 104.1 to 97.5 lbs. At least some of the fat burned off in an unhealthy fashion. Not to mention I have 2 term papers to work on and a final this Thursday. Back to bed for me. @pirate - My next challenge is to not get sick. Weak immune system takes a toll. @dynobites - I want to a pomsky. =)
  9. 24 - Ran with the dog and didn't stop for a half mile 25 - started working on the hand stand challenge (arms are sore and felt the burn on the core) 26 and thereafter - had a really bad sinus infection and couldn't focus on anything. nightless sleeps because my head was hurting really bad. Still not out of the challenge but trying to take it on full throttle soon. Having a dog was fun but my friend is going to claim his dog back. =( I'm going to miss her. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving for those that are in the U.S!
  10. @Nuala. I really like how you highlighted "challenge" hahahahahaaha! do you know the link btw? I can't seem to find it.
  11. Keep up with the consistency. Holidays are difficult but do your best not to slack off. I have long commutes too. Sometimes when I take the bus, I study. Then again I just fall asleep with my mouth open. =/
  12. The Baby always comes first so it's understandable. My boss is like 25 weeks and she had contractions the other day. Scary! Take good care of yourself and keep us updated!
  13. Keep up the good work Silkie! Sounds like you are progressing already!
  14. Did sprints this morning for 15 minutes. I should learn to time myself to see how many reps I can do or something. @Erick - I'm always on my feet, even at work. When I cross my legs sitting down, it feels like the circulation is being cut off and my feet fall asleep. I elevate it at night sometimes so the blood would flow upwards. Maybe I should do the handstand challenge to get the blood flowing in the opposite direction. @Pirate - I'm learning to play "Recollection" by Nobuo Uematsu from Final Fantasy XI.
  15. Keep up the good work! Things can be difficult but once you get the ball rolling, it will become 2nd nature! Here's an article I hope will help you on your tasks so that you can have more time to write your haikus. =) http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2012/08/13/productivity/
  16. It was raining today so I didn't sprint up the flight of stairs at school. When the rain stopped and the sidewalk dried up, I took my dog on a run/jog, letting her lead the way until she was too tired to run. We stayed out for about an hour which is a little over 3 miles. We didn't stop except to smell the flowers for about several minutes. Glad about my progress coming along but I think the eating is starting to be a little excessive on the fast food part….>.<! I guess it's because for my new year's resolution is to not have fast food so i'm indulging.
  17. Congrats everyone who made it on the most wanted list this week! Keep up the good work!
  18. Good luck with this challenge Pirate! Maybe one day I'll play a game of chess with you.
  19. Sounds like a great plan! You can do this! Keep up the good work! You'll be where you are at before you know it!
  20. Monday 11/18: Did stretch workouts for a good 30 minutes. Found out one side of my lower back was a bit in pain. Knotted muscles? Kidney infection??!? Rather it be knotted muscles. Since then I've been stretching my back and massaging that part of the area. =D!! Tuesday 11/19: Worked on arms and shoulders. Wednesday 11/20: Jogged in the morning. I take the bus to school and instead of taking the elevator up to the school area, I took the stairs. Semi-sprinted up 5 flights. Slowed down at the 3rd flight to catch my breath. Tomorrow I'm going to time myself to see how fast I sprint up. What a wonderful next challenge that will be….
  21. You're like me. I am skinny, don't really have a gut but a lot of fat. Many people who see me think I look good but one of my friends said, "Your clothes deceive your body." Continue to keep up the good work!
  22. Thanks Erick! I will update more frequently now that life is starting to be on schedule. Updates: Tuesday: worked on cardio before I went to work and later at night after work. Wednesday: Worked on abs and gluts Thursday: jogged and worked on abs Friday is my rest day Saturday: Did Yoga Sunday: Cleaned up around the house which involved a lot of lifting.
  23. Day 1: I normally jog for about 10-15 minutes but this time I took it further. I didn't time myself but I know it was a bit longer. Came back with a good semi-sore on the body. Tomorrow's cardio should be a bit easier. Note to self: stretch before jogging. >.<!
