  1. Have you had any kind of muscle weakness? Slurred Speach, visual disturbances? Severe Migraines can cause damage to nerve tissue. From my limited knowledge of migraines it is a severe form of headaches which is caused by vasodilation in the brain, or enlargement of the blood vessels, and that causes nearby nerves to release chemicals to cause you the sensation of pain. This can cause from my very limited knowledge permanent damage to your nerves somehow. Also do you have a history of high blood pressure? Heart Disease? Have you also cut out anything in your diet like caffeine or nicotine?
  2. There is a Nerd Fitness rebellion group on Fitocracy http://www.fitocracy.com/group/361/
  3. Well I've started down the path of Paleo and as a beginner I understand the basics. Meat, vegetables, fruits and nuts. Now I recently bought some almond butter from a local food chain and after my first serving I read the ingredients. Pretty much just almonds and unrefined cane sugar. I was wondering if adhering to the tenants of Paleo would Unrefined Cane Sugar be a bad thing? I understand that processed stuff is bad. I dig. However unrefined, to my knowledge, means unprocessed. Is it acceptable to eat this delicious, delicious almond butter?
  4. Lots of ranting beneath. So I am not sure if this is allowed but I'd like to start a Vent thread. A place where you can go and dump what's bothering you and get it off your chest. I can see the potential for this to get bad so if it's an issue I understand if this thread disappears. Now obviously I have something to vent about or I wouldn't be making this thread. I am kind of selfish that way. My vent is that I believe I have just been ripped off for about sixty dollars. In my gung ho fashion I went and bought a pair of Vibram five fingers so I can go running without having to wear traditional shoes. Well I thought I had found an amazing deal until I was informed that the site sold knockoffs. From what I have gathered and understand about the whole pay pal thing since the transaction is "completed" I can't cancel it. I have to wait for the merchant to respond to my emails. If he does not then I can bring a dispute up. But if I should receive the item and have to send it back the shipping and handling maybe more then the shoes cost to buy in the first place. I just wanted to say $*#)$)(#&$)* and then $*)(*$&(#&$ cow @#*($. Thank you if you spent the time to read my rant.
  5. Well the Kirkland stuff is 100 mg fish oil but only 300 combined DHA and Epa or does that even matter?
  6. Well I changed the DHA and Epa factors around to what I could get easily and since the numbers were so low I had a higher number of pills. If I was willing to buy the super strong fish oil they are selling I would probably only need 6 or so for the first couple weeks
  7. Holy Crap! According to this calculator with a factor of .75 I would need 87 pills a day of the easily available brand that I have! There must be an cheaper way way that does not cost me nearly 40 bucks a pop! http://whole9life.com/fish-oil/ Then again there is the possibility I am using the wrong factor. I've changed a lot of my eating habits to eat healthier and pretty much cut out all seed oils except for olive oil. I've increased my intake of omega 3 via almond. I eat a lot more veggies and more chicken and beef and omega 3 enriched eggs. Do I really need 87 pills?
  8. I also understand that certain nuts such as almonds and walnuts, especially the walnuts, have high omega 3 content. I was already considering purchasing said nuts and to incorporate them as between meal snacks. The question I have is roasted or raw? and if pasteurization will affect the nutritional value of said nuts. From what I understand Raw is generally better but at the same time I don't want to risk salmonella. I recall an outbreak of that with raw almonds at one point.
  9. Generally I eat Egglands Best a little more pricey at about 3.50 for eighteen but I like the flavor more. and it apparently has 115 mg of omega 3. As for Krill oil I've only seen it online and for a one month supply it's about 25 bucks. Which is why I'm looking for other methods to getting omega 3 such as the eggs. I've been thinking about incorporating flaxseed into my diet because of its high Omega 3 content. http://nutritiondata.self.com/foods-000140000000000000000.html That gives you a list of how much omega 3 is in various foods. And flaxseed is a heck of a lot cheaper then krill I imagine. More info about flaxseed http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=81#purchasequalities
  10. From my understanding there is new type of fish oil pill made from Krill and is supposedly 47 times better then normal fish oil. Check this out pretty good info about Omega 3 and fish oil
  11. We got a Farmsville here in NC as well. I actually have a friend that lives there. I do enjoy visiting his place he has beauty furniture from all over. I mean he has a guest bed that you have to use a step ladder to get into it's so high off the floor and apparently it fits together like a puzzle so there are no screws use to hold it together.
  12. Mushrooms... I am digging on that.
  13. Thank you all for your input I'll definitely give it my all.
  14. Hmm I think I'd just buy Pure coconut water. That stuff is awesome and apparently just as good as most sports drink.
  15. Have you considered Inverted Rows? http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/11/06/inverted-row-are-you-missing-out-on-this-great-exercise/
