  1. I was told core by the trainer, but possible abdominals? He was prettyfrustrated with me...
  2. Background rant: I had a group fitness class yesterday, and nearly gave up on the gym. It was horrible. All core and stability exercises and I couldn't seem to get any right. I'm crushed, I can run and do strength workouts without failing, I felt like I was back in middle school gym class and everyone was going to start laughing. Horrible. Instead of hiding away from the gym and giving up, I want to work more on my core and stability so that never happens again. Question: What are some good core/stability exercises I can do at home to prepare me for the hell I face at the gym? If it helps, I'm 25/f/5'10/165lbs and I'm working towards a half marathon in about 5 weeks.

  4. Thanks, I can already run a 5k (albeit, it takes me about 34 minutes.... I'm working on that), I saw your hunger games theme though! That's one of my motivations, to survive the Games, cuz right now, I'd be dead in less than a day.

  6. I'm hoping to drop weight by quitting their food! I would be overjoyed if that was all it took the jokes on the kids though; they always think my food is better, but they have the full fat deliciousness! Props to your husband!

  8. Hey! This is my first 6 week challenge, but it is coinciding with the start of my 90 day challenge at my gym. Hopefully I won't die. My MAIN QUEST: Finish my Half Marathon (on Sept 14) without dying! Challenge Tasks: 1: Run the full 10k trail (No Walking/Treadmill/Slacking off) 2: Strength Train (these arms are made to carry swords!) 3: No more sugar! (or general carbs/fatty unhealthy crap that warriors don't need) Possible obstacles: Eating the kids' leftovers... I love peanut butter. And breads. And cupcakes. Also all the birthday parties and weddings that guarantee unhealthy foods and are perfect excuses not to workout. I WILL NOT LET THEM DISTRACT ME!
  9. Hey, I'm new to... all of this. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I did join a gym, sign up for their 90 day transformation challenge and both a half and full marathon.... I'm overwhelmed. I know running is important, but no idea what else. I'm around 33% body fat and am hoping to drop down to about 20-22%. I think. Really I just want to be able to run an entire 5k trail. I want to be able to keep up with my hounds and friends. I'm running about 15-25 miles a week now, but hills are lethal. I'm hoping strength training will help with all of this. That's my introductory I-have-no-idea-what-I'm-doing spiel!
