  1. Hello, awesome rebels! I can't believe it's been a week already. During this past week I have been drinking gallons of tea and pretty much coughed my guts out 24/7. I don't recommend it. Oh, and I lost my voice some time last weekend. Haven't got it back yet. *sigh* The good news is that my paw could use that time to heal a bit more, since I was not tempted at all to fool around with anything movement related. So - back to work tomorrow, but practice will probably have to wait until the weekend. Somehow I doubt I'll have enough energy for it until then.
  2. Remote detonation sounds good! I like it! But please don't go shopping for the explosives at ACME, eh?
  3. Is there anything specific we can help you with re: kicking? If not, I'll leave an unspecific kick here for you:
  4. Hang in there, HH! Congrats on getting a job application in already! Keeping my fingers crossed that you can leave the current unhealthy workplace ASAP! Which reminds me of this song:
  5. Hello! Of course I'll be lurking on this most excellent new thread of yours!
  6. Thany you, my awesome fellow rebels, for your concern! My paw still feels a bit twingey in certain ROMs, but since I won't be able to see a specialist until April, I've decided to wear the splint (at least on and off) for another week and see how it feels after that. Considering that I won't be able to talk to someone knowledgeable about his for another four weeks, I will have to come up with alternative plans for movement, because everything I had considered puts too much load on the hands and wrists (Vitamin, Elements, Handstands or more IS...all the fun things. There's only so much squats, lunges, HBHs and planks I can do... ). So in a way it's not too bad that I caught a cold and am feeling a bit under the weather. Gives me more time to think about what I want to do for the next couple of weeks.
  7. Awesome numbers! Looks like your hunches were spot on! The FC got his bloodwork numbers yesterday, too. You may have to share that overachiever pedestal with him - pretty much all his markers were in the optimum range. I am a light shade of green with envy.
  8. WOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO! You did it!!!!!!!!!1111oneoneeleven Congrats!
  9. I hear you on deadlines wreaking havoc on diet and, well, a healthy lifestyle in general... Been there, done that - or rather: still doing that, though thankfully a lot less frequently than I used to. And yep, the right kind of exercise / movement can be really helpful when you're stressed out. For me, the horses have been a very important anti-stress strategy, first Jonnypony and the Redhead, now Rosie. I am very grateful to have (had) them in my life. Keeping my fingers crossed for your check-up!
  10. Wow! You're positively killin' it! And all that while working OT... It's really great seeing that you still got your motivation back, despite all the extra work and extra stress! Keep rockin'! \m/ \m/
  11. Sorry to hear about the rough times - and interesting to hear how the college course system in the US works. Sounds strange to me, but I went to college a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... Glad that you rediscovered martial arts for yourself. Almost a black belt, eh? Baby steps are good, as long as you end up moving in the direction you want to go, everything's good. Please keep us posted how you're doing, mmmkay?
  12. Last I heard, Ash was held hostage by a hostile internet router! Though I believe she went at it with her mace to teach it some manners.
  13. Hey, Will, thanks for checking in! You know we missed you, right? Thank you very much for the healing thoughts, mucho appreciated, friend! And I am SO kicking ass lazing about resting up and healing! I did some squats and lunges yesterday, nothing too serious, just to ease back into doing something (or anything, really), and I can still feel those today. :s Ah, well.
  14. WILL! So good to see you, man! :cheerful: How's life been treating you?
  15. Sorry to hear that the project stress is still going strong As you said: It is what it is. Keeping my fingers crossed that the next week will go easier on you!
  16. That is one good looking chart! :triumphant: Keep rocking! \m/ \m/
  17. Thank you, Ensi, healing thoughts are much appreciated! Chris-Tien Jinn, I'm doing my best! Yesterday I spent some time imagining how that fissure was closing, how the bone was mending - in my mind it had a bit of nanobot-y feeling to it. Today I'm not in constant pain anymore. Whatever is at work here (and no matter if I personally like the splint), at least something seems to be working for now.
  18. Lots of programmer hugs for you! This is basically the story of my life...
  19. In other news: It appears that my “squishy†left wrist is not only sprained as I thought, but there is a fissure in one of the carpal bones (the Lunate, I believe). As of this afternoon, I am the owner of a shiny new plaster splint (which, for the record, I hate – and it’s not really shiny, either). I am supposed to wear the blasted thing for the next 2 – 3 weeks. Grrrrrrargh.
