  1. My quest may not make sense to you, but it is mostly just for me. I want to join this challenge, but am feeling hermit-ish and shy about my idea. I may have taken the epic quest/video game analogy too far, but I don't care. It is NERD fitness! lol. This is my fairy-tale analogy based quest. Main Quest: Heal my curse of being miserable, exhausted, ashamed, fat, etc., by unsticking all of the pieces and people of the past, ending the distracting bad habits and fully facing my true self with fearlessness, relentlessness, and never looking back. Figure out all of the stuck pieces and people and resolve them to gain my quest items for the curse dispel potion. Create emotion web. Write my fairy tale. Create MBTI web of all old characters and people. List all people and what is unresolved and how it could be resolved. Write any other undone or list things, such as video games never finished, divorce, etc. Make a specific goal and commitment to writing my masterpiece and start writing it, every single day until it is finished. Just like the blog. Write and complete the ritual to dispel the curse. Record all of the demons, old promises, my bad thoughts, resulting actions and beliefs in myself, etc. Create my demon banishing/renewal ritual to be done as many times as necessary. Stop audio books, pain. Discover true values and priorities and create my sanctuary embodying them. Banish all of the demons, old promises, my bad thoughts, resulting actions and beliefs in myself, etc. Truly put them behind me. Truly start living them. Cast off my physical chains and shackles and regain my life force.(Mara’s whole program, every moment of every day). Reread audio book and make my unique plan, take notes, do research, make specific goals, and be ready to go! Sleep Planning Food Exercise Am I making progress, continual monitoring and adjustment to root out any remaining or new sabotaging behaviors
  2. I like them! And I do count the walking. It's great to have exercise built into daily life.
  3. Okay, well week 6 was a bit of a failure, but I got about a b- overall for the whole challenge, including the extra week that I did. Thanks everyone and I am excited for next time!
  4. I am basically still doing the potatoes not Prozac diet, but nerd fitness focuses a little more on paleo so they take out some of the grains and fruit. I found that after a while, eating the potato at night made me feel good, but I typically ate too big of a potato. I still really like the potatoes diet, but the nerd fitness one allows me to take it to the next level as far as weight loss goes.
  5. Alright here is my late but still present update for week 4. This week my grade was a B.I rode my bike to my classes, but did not remember to walk anywhere. I ate at nerd fitness diet level 8 all week, I have barely anything on my to do list, and I did get down to below 1500 calories over. That was quite a feat! I did most of it in 3 days. I was up to almost 3000 over. But with a lot of exercise you can burn a lot of calories! I did not level up to nf level 9 because it's just impossible this point, but that's okay. It was a good week, I'm still at it, and I am looking forward to the rest of the challenge, and then starting the next one! I'm glad I finally got update done.
  6. Oops. I can't figure out how to delete the duplicates. Sorry! Lol
  7. Okay! Today has been awesome. Just checking in here yesterday made me more motivated. I guess that's how it works right? That's why I love nerd fitness, and you guys of course! Today I have burned over 700 calories so far. I took a half hour bike ride to my college and back, and a 25 minute walk around to find out where all my classes are and how long its going to take me to get from one to the other. Then I came home and went for my second couch to 5k run. Today went much better than Wednesday. on Wednesday my knees hurt after my run, despite warming up, cooling down, and doing a lot of stretching. They hurt all of yesterday too. It wasn't intense pain or anything, but it always worries me. But today after my run and stretching and everything I feel just a tiny tingle and that's all. It's really exciting. So I still don't think I'm going to be able to level up this week, but I do think it's possible for me to burn these 1600 or so extra calories if I keep working hard. It's lots of fun too, so it's not like it's torture or anything. My last challenge here was to fall in love with fitness, & I definitely did. It was really important for me to find the things that I love to do. One thing that I'm very very excited to be able to do again is pole dancing. I could technically do it now, but I found that closer to 170 pounds is much more comfortable and fun. I'm so glad to be here. The last 3 days my break has consisted of watching a lot of the show heavy and playing The Sims 3. It has been really nice to just relax for a good part of every day, and for the first time in my life I felt like I could do it in moderation and I didn't feel guilty doing it. Again, this just feels so great. I would be so psyched if I could play the sims on breaks, but still be excited to have a life too. I have never been able to do this before. But now I play for a little while and I'm itching to get up and ride my bike or go somewhere or do something or clean even. So that's my exciting update for today! Thanks so much for being here everyone! !! We are unstoppable!
  8. Ok the last week finished well! This is the first week that I got a "B" in anything.I did everything except reach my calorie lowering goal. I decided that was a B because I was up to the level I wanted to be down to last week. And now I'm a little bit above that, so I'm back to needing to go down about 3200 total calories still. It is going to be extremely hard to finish leveling up this week, & I have no idea how I could do it the next two weeks. Unless they add some new quests or really change up the experience, I do not think that it is possible. What is left are things like doing something for a whole month or doing something that I am not yet capable of doing. But that's okay, I know that this challenge was extravagant. I was very excited when I got started, and I've gotten a wonderful start on the challenge, including an extra week that wasn't even in the challenge! Lol. I am having a really good time, but since I start college again on Monday I have wanted to take a little bit of a break this week. I've really been enjoying my break, and I'm hoping that I will get reinvigorated to exercise more once I start school again next week. I am going to try to ride my bike a lot to commute, and I'm going to try to finally force myself to go to the University gym. I just feel so incredibly self conscious because I am so much older and heavier than probably 98% of the people who go there. But I think I'm finally to the point where I could do that. I'm especially excited because they have a climbing wall and free climbing classes. That sounds so much fun to me. I'm also hoping to start up Pilates in September but I want to test out my college schedule and make sure I don't try to do too much. I already have thoughts about the next challenge that I'm really excited for, but I am NOT burned out on this challenge or finished. In fact I went ahead and skipped to level 10 on the nerd fitness diet, which was supposed to happen the last week of this challenge, but like I said I've just been pretty excited and on fire about most of this stuff. In fact yesterday I did the first workout for the couch to 5k. I am a complete non runner so this was pretty exciting for me. I am planning to continue doing it, but like I said running is really not my thing and I don't want to do it if I hate it. But yesterday was really fun. I couldn't believe that I could do that well. It's awesome having you guys here even if I can't comment much and don't comment on your threads. I still read a lot of what you guys are doing, and I feel really enriched and motivated by having this community and especially you guys I've known for a while. I definitely am enjoying meeting new people too and I just love nerd fitness all around. Here's to finishing out the challenge!
  9. Lol! No,but it's my last chance with my relationship. It was tough for me to learn to be a good relationship partner, and I might have ruined things with a good guy. He's going to decide by the end of the year if he wants to keep trying or not. I've gotten a lot of chances I messed up, and this is my last one. So that's motivating me to do my best.
  10. Challenge for 9/14: Main Goal: To continue unburdening myself and reclaiming my strength, freedom, passion, integrity and identity. Motivation: Lose all my weight in a year! Stay on track with 1.35 pounds per week, so I can make it to 70 pounds lost by June of 2015!!! Sub Goals: 1. Increase my daily exercise to 45 minutes per day, or 90 minutes for makeup sessions. 2. Lower my calorie goal from the moderately active to lightly active calculation in my calorie tracking app, and always be within the calories allowed at the end of each week!!! 3. 4.
  11. Things are great! Doing this update was going to be my first task on the todo list today! I've been spending most of my time working on decluttering my house. Originally this was not part of my to do list, but I had so much motivation to do it and there were so many different tasks that I did, I ended up just adding all of the house tasks to my to do list. So then when I recalculated how many things I actually had on my to do list it was quite numerous. So I recalculated my to do's for the challenge, and I'm going to edit that above soon. So this week I want to really attack my to do list head on, like I did with my house last week. I spent about 35 hours and I got rid of every single tiny piece of clutter, papers that have not been filed, stuff that has no home, extra stuff that I don't need, put pictures on the walls, got a new desk for my computer, got cables for it, and I did so many other things so my entire house is literally finished, settled, organized, decluttered, and minimalized. I've never finished this process before and it was amazing. I have also leveled up again through the nerd Fitness Academy. The kinds of quests I'm doing so far are all the beginner stuff like doing the nerd fitness diet Levels, walking, basic squats, wall handstands, things like that. Some biking or other workout stuff. Just anything in the Academy that I can accomplish right now and get points for. I am pretty much at the end of all the easy stuff, so I think it's going to get much harder from here to level up. The eating is going really great it's surprisingly easy. So now for a while I've been eating a vegetable with every single meal, a protein and a vegetable and never any grains at breakfast. I also cut out any kind of bread or crackers or pizza crust last week and this week I am minimizing dairy and snacking which i already basically do, so for me I'm going to stop night eating. Everything is going awesome for me, & I walked to the thrift store this week and biked to the park with my daughter. Things are going great!
  12. Yay! I got everything completed for week 1! This challenge is awesome. I think I finally got good at structuring a challenge the way I like them, at a pace that builds and works for me. I am loving this challenge. I'll try to post more details soon.
  13. I like it. Good luck! I'm often dealing with chaos. I like how you're keeping the reading and creativity focus to balance out the work, and not even making a list. Good self knowledge and following your instincts!
  14. Perfect! It's so good to know when to scale things back and go back to basics. Goods luck!
  15. I don't work right now. I'm a student and my college is about 3 miles away from home, and my kids go to preschool 2.4 miles away. I live in a town full of bike trails, lanes and paths, so getting around is great! Today I biked the girls to their school so my disabled daughter could do occupational therapy. No school this week for us. My 4 year old biked on her 2 wheel bike without training wheels the whole way with me! Other daughter was in the bike trailer. Those of you who knew me in previous challenges witnessed me when I first biking around town. At first I was so scared! After that challenge it was easy. I love nerd fitness and you guys!
  16. I mean i started using an app to track my calories June 9th. I had to play around a bit to find my correct daily calorie number, and get used to eating less. Because of the learning curve I was over calorie limit for each day die a while. So I added them all together and the total was about 4500 calories over the total calorie budget since june 9th. I enter my exercise calories in addition to my food calories, so I'm mainly trying to exercise more to end up with a deficit most days to eventually get my backlog down to zero. I hope that makes sense. Nice to see you guys!
  17. This is my new challenge thread! http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/51506-faeprice-starts-to-soar/ BTW, is there a new group forum for this challenge or anything? You said we had a new knight. Where might I find them... So excited!!!

  20. Eating part is good. Level up complete! The to Dos keep going up... No strides in burning extra calories yet. I want to change my other goal from a new exercise a week to commuting somewhere on food and by bike each week. I walked to pilates class Monday. Haven't biked yet. Having a lot of fun!
