  1. Keep up the good work! And thank you for the meditation link, I am going to have to look into it!
  2. Sounds like you are learning! One of the things they teach in the Military is to make your goals S.M.A.R.T. or Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely. Try to apply that to what you are doing it might help. I like your story; kinda gave me an idea. What about creating an on-going Zombie Survival Story that allows people to create and be characters in it, that then offers up situations that can be done as mini-challenges. Have each person put in their goals and if you don't maintain above a certain percentage... the zombies get you! I'd love to help with creating it and writing if you or anyone is interested.
  3. My question was, did you enjoy the long, lost making run? That's what matters. Glad you are moving along with your goals, you rock!
  4. Glad you enjoyed your seminar and had a good weekend. Very proud of you. Its is a cool feeling being able to be nerdy about fitness My weekend was good, relaxing, refreshing and productive.
  5. Thank you, Emma. Its a part of my life that I am taking back. I love writing and need to continue.
  6. Could I recommend Tai Chi? When I was in college I used to get up super early to attend a class and every day I did it I was energized. I've been working to integrate it back into my schedule. Glad you are doing well, hope to hear from you more

  8. @Arya - Thank you!! @Rowan - I did on Friday, was really constrictive so I need to find time to do it when I'm not in uniform. Right when I wake up is hard. I am up at 530, eat breakfast, drive to work and then work starts. I have group work out at 10am this morning, I'm going to do it after that
  9. Emma, I was actually going to add that to the next challenge If you wanted to read some of my writing you can find it here: http://www.writerscafe.org/dhsayers/writing/ Welcome Navi!! Glad to have you on board and helping with some navigation! So pretty much you can add me on Facebook or when I am at work my email is sayersdh@cvn76.navy.mil We can figure out some way to help each other
  10. That's interesting, I was just at Whole Foods Market here in San Diego. Wife and I are starting a 40-day no processed foods... next 10 days will be interesting. I'm seeing lots of A's, keep up the good work!
  11. PROGRESS REPORT - Exercise - Maintaining group work out, have not added in individual workouts. - C - Nutrition - Maintaining 80/20. However, next week my wife and I are starting a 40 day clean eating, cutting out all processed food. - B - STRESS!!! - Was only able to meditate for 10 minutes today. My uniform is really constrictive - C
  12. Love the proverb you have in your sig! Looks like you are doing great! Enjoy the berry excursion, sounds like fun!
  13. @Ovie - Thank you! @Mad - Its was amazing. I miss Michigan at times, and that week was a good taste of what I'd been missing: sun, dunes, forest and family. Now to get on track! @Arya - The main things I have to tell myself in that situation, is that I have to look out for myself. That means sometimes saying no to people. In the military it can be hard to say no, but I still have to do it at times. See if you can find what they will be offering for food and then supplement it by bringing stuff with you, or having someone send you a care package containing the items. Protein powders, peanut butter are definites. Figure out what you need, what they offer, and how you can make up the difference. Best advice, get enough sleep. That's been my biggest fight. Good luck! Would love hear more about what you'll be doing.
  14. Anytime! If harboiled eggs aren't your thing, Celery and peanut butter!
  15. Definitely agree with Mad and Cavemom, don't overwork yourself. Try yoga, tai chi when you're tired of straight work outs... they are great for flexibliity and energy.
  16. I love those types of dreams. Someone posted on Facebook the other day and article about a new mask that you wear while sleeping. When it detects that you are in REM sleep, it puts out a pattern of flashes of red LEDs that should be odd enough to grab your attention in the dream and bring you into lucid dreaming. Costs $99... so I am leary about buying it and it not working
  17. A quote attributed to Thomas Edison reads "If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward". You can do this, keep going!!
  18. Love your motivation! You are going to rock on your trip!
