  1. August 1st! Started off with Bacon, Eggs and Zucchini! Trying out Crossfit! Great start to a great month!!

  2. !! That's so great!! Go you I love zombies, run! too! Happy running!
  3. I have a very similar problem that my roommates and family eat fast food ALL THE TIME and since I'm always with them, it's really hard to eat anything! Generally I would order a salad or actually bring something easy like a trail mix or fruits while they eat, but i'm not going to lie sometimes I do cave in I did notice that some (VERY FEW) fast food places do have low carb options with a burger in lettuce instead of bread (like Carl's jr)....
  4. It's encouraging that even though you weren't feeling great you still got some exercise done! That's amazing! I think doing a little every day will add up ! Hope you'll feel better too!
  5. Awesome cosplay plans!! I'm also using the Zombies Run app! Happy Questing!! I'm excited for your first cosplay!! You are going to rock it!
  6. Thanks for your message!! Yeah I've been using the app and I think it's really fun for anyone who likes watching zombie movies. It's really just listening to a zombie story while running with having music in between. It does motivate me though and you can collect items and build in your base. It's fun, I really enjoy it at least! I think it's a really creative app and wish to see more variations actually. Personally I'm more of a fantasy person, so doing something with magic and dragons would be awesome I think ! But you can tell a lot of love went into this app! BTW, awesome for quoting the Tao Te Ching! I was an Asian Studies major and I love Chinese philosophy!
  7. HI There! I love your story!! I can really understand how gaining weight can really put you in a depressed state (been there so many times...and is somewhat still there). But CONGRATULATIONS, that's amazing you found your prince charming !! And that must be motivating too! Anyway, happy questing, you've done it once before so doing it again will be no problem!!
  8. i like how detailed your quest objectives are!! I'm with you, I love running, but it's not easy at all, takes a lot of time building it up. I'm also trying to eat as fresh as possible (trying to go paleo)- i find i have major obstacles especially during the weekends. I have weekend mentality and i would eat well weekdays but once the weekend starts, i treat myself almost every meal and making excuses...! no more excuses!! Anyway, good luck on your quest!!
  9. Woo!! Running!! That's a very good quest! I'm also doing a 5 k in a couple weeks and training for it for my first challenge! Good luck on your quest and get running!
  10. Signed up for my first crossfit trial class!! Starting August 1st! Super excited and real nervous >

  11. Finished my first workout of the challenge! 35 minutes of running with Zombies! Run! :)

  12. Thanks so much!! It was a lot easier because I was running with a friend and they really pushed me! I have two 5k runs coming up and I'm very excited for them! I'm surprised how refreshing and motivating doing runs are, the day of I was so terrified! But once you're surrounded by all these people who are enthusiastic about it, it makes you really pumped up!! I hope you sign up for a 5k run!! I'm so glad to hear about your crossfit experience (and I'd love to hear a lot more!!!) I will schedule a free consultation as soon as possible to try it out! I am super stoked and extremely nervous at the same time!!
  13. This is my first 6 week challenge and I cannot be more excited. MOTIVATION The past few months have been transforming me in different ways. As a child I was never athletic and always hid under the guise that I had asthma and skipped lots of gym classes. I thought I could never be athletic. Yet now I exercise on a regular basis and actually ran my first 10k in July! I did not train for it and was not prepared at all. Even though I finished it at 1hr and 5 minutes and was very proud of myself, I realized that I am NOT in the best shape. I have been saying I want to make it my goal to be fit because I AM a lot happier when I exercise and eat well- but yet I fall short on my word…especially on the weekend!! This time I want to make it through and this challenge is pledge to make it happen. MAIN QUEST Transform my lifestyle by making both running and strength training a regular part of my life and adapting into a paleo diet. Adapt a Paleo diet/Lifestyle Plan my meals ahead and have fresh, whole foods ready (Re) Read- It starts with Food and Paleo Solution Eat regular meals: 3 meals a day and eat my first meal at home! Run twice a week (at least) Bring workout clothes to work and go straight to gym for some running Use the Zombies! Run app Do 2 strength exercises a week Tuesday and Thursday do strength training with free weights and/or TRY CROSSFIT OUT SIDE QUESTS Life Side Quest: Be conscious of where I buy my food. Even though it is sort of directly tied into adapting a Paleo diet, I’d like to be more aware of where my food is coming from. I will do this by visiting more farmers’ markets and trying out new local produce and reading food labels and where my food is from.
