  1. Back from Kenya, was not easy to eat healthy here. It was all inclusive. I generally ate veg and rice but there was a lot of cake and biscuits as well. I managed to swim properly everyday for 30 mins and I've started up doing sunsalutions as well. I did them every other day but I want to get a 20 min session every morning when I wake up. Desserts I'm just trying to replace bad food with other snacks and fruit. I think I'm doing alright but nothing amazing. I'm going to a nutritionist on Tuesday to have an intolerance test and have a general chat about my nutrition. I think I just need to really just break the habit of eating so many chocolate and biscuits.
  2. <<<< this! You shouldn't go cold turkey. That's setting yourself up to fail. Just start cutting down. Do changes a week at a time so you hardly notice the difference. Or you could always try espresso shots, I live in italy so it's difficult to get any kind of long coffee and I prefer it. Good luck!!
  3. This is amazing. My boyfriend is getting a surprise gift soon!
  4. I always buy Adidas but even then I do a lot of bending and stretching in the changing room just to make sure.
  5. I'm going to Kenya on Sunday and I've spent the past three days in a sick haze because of malaria tablets. Stopped them and changing to different ones but food was mainly bread and plain pasta. And exercise was out because it felt like I had motion sickness constantly all day. Not so fun. But back on track tomorrow!
  6. Alright, so another day of sightseeing. 5 hours of walking around museums has been great today. I'm not working out so much this week but I am really moving about a lot. Yesterday I did around an hour of swimming on and off all day. Food wise I'm cracking slightly, my parents want their real Italian ice creams and so do I! But it's only desserts I'm failing on, meals are no problem. Off to the beach tomorrow. I'm gonna try squeeze in a morning workout before we leave! Wish me luck!!!!
  7. This looks really interesting, definitely going to give it a go on my holiday this summer!
  8. I know everyone is saying that there is a chance of pregnancy coming off the pill, but there are other forms of contraceptives... It's not the only option, just the most easiest. I've been thinking for a while now that the pill is hindering me. I don't think it's very healthy to take pills to switch your hormones so dramatically but for the sake of convenience - I take them. This article really just adds another tick to the many boxes of reasons why not to take the pill. It's just finding something that can give you such convenience and success rate of not getting pregnant. I will definitely look into this more. Urghhh the choices.
  9. I'm from the south of Manchester! But I live in Milan, Italy at the moment. Good to see a fellow MancNerd!
  10. Ok so yesterday was my birthday, so food wise I had some treats in there. Some dairy milk brought over from England, some Italian ice cream and some cake. Exercise yesterday was five hours of sightseeing with the parents. It's the first time they've come to visit me in Milan. And since we went out last night and partied til dawn, today has been a bit on the slow side. But healthy eating is still happening. I made some dark organic chocolate covered strawberries for us all this evening and that satisfied my sugar cravings completely. They are so easy to make too. Fantastic!! Not the best two day but I was expecting it. And I've really enjoyed myself and not gone crazy on food and drinks. Balance is the key!
  11. First full day of the challenge and I'm off to a good start. I've already done my HIIT workout with weights this morning. I followed this routine: http://www.staysharpbestrong.com/2012/12/06/a-cardio-star-is-what-you-are/ It was really fun actually but challenging, I only managed to do two out of the three sets. But by the end of the six weeks that'll change! Eating well today as well, no sugar cravings yet! But my parents are coming to visit for a week this evening and my birthdays tomorrow, so we will see how it all goes!
  12. Nothing looks as good as healthy feels

  13. Your life quest sounds fantastic , I hope you get there! I have similar problems of snacking when bored. I tend to have as many ready to go healthy snacks as possible. Chopped up fruit, carrots or even just an apple is all it takes. I read somewhere that if you aren't hungry enough to eat an apple, you aren't hungry.
