  1. Whew! Okay, Sunday was a Sunday (enforced rest day for crew) Monday and today, which are my designated cardio days were a bust. I did go into the athletic trainers though, my back and foot feel go good! I've been slacking on noting intake, but really good about drinking water... a 50% start of the second fortnight. I also had another midterm today and have another coming up. Whew!
  2. Friday I drank hella water, I'm noticing that I either drink a lot or a little. We did a lot of cardio, and some lactic pieces. But more importantly! I ran into the boat house!!! I haven't been able to do that in nearly a month! It's only 3/4s of a mile, but it was damn glorious! Saturday I ran in again, I am somehow still classified as a gazelle because even running injured I'm faster than most of the rest of the team, oh, well, I love running so I don;t mind the extra half mile. Then we (my best friend who is an Art History person and I) took a road trip into San Francisco to go to the Legion of Honor, which is an art museum that has art... And statues... Which are art too... There was a lot of Auguste Rodin, the dude who made the Thinker, which was there! It was fun, we walked a lot and a lot of people in the Renaissance period paint creepy ass babies. I think just the museum was a cardio workout! They're so full of stuff!
  3. !! How are the comics!? I saw them at my local shop, but had a budget and very specific purchases, but I yearned to leaf through.
  4. Didn't make it to the gym today or yesterday, on the bright side, I got 50 extra credit points on the midterm I turned in today! I went in to the athletic trainers today for my back this time, damn thing saw it's opportunity since my arch has been healing. Our top erg score is out of commission with a back injury, so I am especially aware of how terrifying a back injury could be. I did drink a lot of water though! And I'm doing pretty well on not eating all doughnuts and tomatoes all day everyday (actually, I had a chili cheese dog for dinner, so I shouldn't be crowing). I've noticed that I'm getting into the habit of logging my food pretty well, which is exciting.
  5. After I hurt my arch, golf balls became my gods! They're the best!
  6. I didn't end up making it to the gym yesterday so I made up for it today, I was going to do a 20 minute piece on the eliptical which turned into a 25 minute, then a 30, then a 40, then a 50. Then I did some strength training. Through all that, I drank a good deal of water, but all my drinking was concentrated in about two hours at the end of the day :\ Also, after working out, I ate a couple slices of pizza.... not a good life decision... I also did some of my foot things, picking things up with toes and managed to squirm out of getting ice bathed by going to a reading. All together, productive day! I'm just going to cry in my corner... Yeah, I can't wait until I'm back on my feet (hehehe).
  7. More legs! Though as a rower, I may be biased... Congratulations on your deadlift! A couple days ago you inspired me to do some strength training and I spent the next couple of days walking around like a cowboy and unable to raise my hands above my head! Perhaps not the best life choice I've made recently, but I feel stronger! I hope you feel better!
  8. You've inspired me with your showers, I took a cold one the other day and was totally rejuvenated! Also, awesome work! It seems like it's been a super productive year, inspiring!
  9. Wow! Time passed really really fast! Okay I actually kind of forget what all happened on Thursday, I didn't even log food. It's a mystery. I do know I got an ice-bath for my foot on Thursday though. Friday My friend and I did a lot of walking around town, I then did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Actually, it was a really groovy new machine in the gym, called the Ark trainer or something. Alas, not the arch-trainer, or I'd have a new best friend. Saturday we road-tripped to Sacramento for a day (after practice!) and got absolutely lost on one-way streets attempting to find a Starbucks, somehow I managed to resist getting anything to sordidly sugary, win on that front! Sunday was the first regatta of the season, crazy! We raced Division 1 teams, so we were rather pleasantly surprised that our novice 4+ won. Today, I drank hella water (my lips are super chapped from the salty air yesterday), so check on that front. I didn't make it to the athletic trainer (alas!) however my foot simply hasn't been hurting, well, for a streak of three days now. I'm planning on getting my cross-training in today, I've come to like the funky new machine.
  10. Whew! Had a crazy few days! We had the first regatta of the season and a road trip all in three days! Good to see all of y'all are going strong!
  11. I love your pull up bar! I am currently using a stair.
  12. Don't worry friend, everything works out in the end! Core is so important! Have fun at the gym!
  13. Today has been AWESOME! I PR'd on my 2k erg* test this morning! 3rd spot on the team and I'm a foot shorter that Olympic rowers, the olympic W8+ cox is taller than me! Yeah! Then my class was cancelled so I spent a couple hours in the gym playing with machines, and the athletic trainer said I could run another 10 minutes. I did an 8 minute mile, which is nowhere near my 6.5 minute mile before I got injured, but hey! Running! Without pain! Yeah! Then I got coerced into an ice bath by the athletic trainer, which sucked for me, but was awesome for my foot. And then I spent a while talking to coach about the season and the benefits of cardio. As far as food and drink go, I'd say that today was a good day, I drank a lot or water after the 2k and during my afternoon workout. And ate a lot of veggies, especially asparaguts. Now I just have to do my coding and math homework and I can be in bed at 9:30! Yeah! *The ergometer, or erg is that weird machine in the back of gyms that is rarely used Credit: Amazon
