  1. Day 13: did jump rope and strength training. Not much, but it's better than nothing.
  2. Day 13, part 1: I now have another part time job! One of my major goals is out of the way.
  3. LOL Day 10 I fell asleep and woke up too late to do any sort of workout. However, woke up on Day 11 actually feeling like a human being for the first time in a while. Went running for ten minutes and then walked for about 40. Day 12, today, was work and then looking for another part time job. I was hoping to hear back from my other interview but since she said she'd contact me last Thursday and she hasn't yet, I'm back on the job hunt. Jumped rope and did strength training for about 15 minutes. However, I'm about to go out looking for more work again so I'll get some walking in too.
  4. Lexphoenix, Aletha, and Crooked thank you guys so much for your compliments! I will do my best to live up them. Day 08: Went running, but only got about a mile in before I didn't want to run anymore. I finished the track walking, though, so that was nice. Got my 8 glasses of water in, took my meds, and went to work. Ate well and worked on my macronutrients. Man do I eat a lot of carbs! Was still in pain so I called my doctor. The nurse picked up and said to skip my meds and if I still feel bad to go to the ER. I'm so poor that I didn't even pay attention to this advice. Day 09: Felt so bad that I had to leave work about an hour and a half before my shift ended. I felt really crappy and slept as soon as I got back. Called my doctor and never got a response. Got super depressed and had an intense moment of weakness. Got myself out of it by playing extensively on my blog. I'm just writing this day off as a total rest day because I wasn't up to giving my all. Day 10: Today is my day ten. My goals for today are: --eat well --run some --clean my room --do at least 4 loads of laundry --drink all my water --spend two hours reading --do a yoga workout --set an hourly alarm on my phone for mindfulness --meditate for fifteen minutes on a reading
  5. Mind if I jump in? I love running. Best thing ever. Do lots of HIIT and speed, and now working on endurance.
  6. Wow, sorry for the lack of updates. Life's been kicking my butt. 6/06 Day 5: Went for a really awesome run and strength training routine that left me feeling all gooey and amazing in my muscles. Hung out with a friend and read some. Mindfulness kicked butt. Got my lupus meds. 6/07 Day 06: Yesterday I didn't exercise or record my food because I was really, really miserable. I started my meds and I'm either in a flare, having issues with the meds, or something because I was sore, exhausted, and having bad abdominal cramps. I ended up in bed all day. I did get homework done, however, which is always a plus. Thinking about making a list of things I can do while stuck in bed on bad days. 6/08 Day 07: Week One! I was sore and cramping still, but not as bad. I biked to Whole Foods and picked up a lot of fruits and other healthy stuff. My legs gave out on my way back, luckily in the park, but I biked for thirty minutes. Was planning on running after this but hell no, it's not happening. Saw my therapist today and had a good session. Got more DBT worksheets and homework. Tonight, while I'm stuck in bed again, gonna read books on mindfulness. You know what though? I'm really proud of all that I'm getting done despite being in lots of pain. Most people would just lie in bed and give up. Not me. I haven't missed work, workout, and do my errands on a bike. Damn, I feel kinda awesome.
  7. My friend took salmon oil and it really helped her bad knees. However, it made her super tired. She said the regular fish oil did nothing except make her sleepy. That's my only knowledge on fish oil, though. I'm sure some people have had better results.
  8. Hi Nicolakgreen! Someone gave me an idea once of taking a piece of paper and writing how you feel after a workout, and then write how you feel after you miss your workout. I've never tried it myself, but maybe it'll help you stay focused.
  9. Thank you! I'll definitely remember that! To be fair, I'll probably fall out of mindfulness when I fall over in extended triangle pose (utthita trikonasana?) but I'll def do my best. Day 4: I kicked ass in the interview. If I didn't get that job than the interviewer was an idiot. It went really, really well. I went for a morning run, which was fantastic. I did twenty minutes of yoga that felt so good till I went into a downward facing dog and got a bad headrush. Going to try and really go slowly into the poses and see if it works better. Was way under my calorie goal, but I logged everythng and drank all my water.
  10. Day 3: was a lot more mindful. However, after work I decided to take a nap...which lasted so long that I didn't get to workout. Went over my calorie goal but I ate well so I'm not gonna sweat it. However, I'm got a great morning run on Day 4. Wish me luck on my job interview, as that is part of my life goals!
  11. Hey, these goals are amazing! I'm only incorporating yoga 2-3 a week into my workout, and I'm finding it so difficult. Any tips of a n00b yogi? Hope you get to feeling better! //hugs and gives you delicious tea with the local unpasteurized honey//
  12. Day 2: As promised, I kicked ass. I am in the middle of a lupus flare so my running stamina wasn't as high as usual, only going 0.89 miles per HIIT interval. However, I did a yoga workout as well as 3 sets of 25 pushups and 3 sets of 25 crunches. Didn't meet my water goal of 8 cups, only got 6. Didn't meditate. Cleaned my room enough to do my yoga workout.
  13. One of my goals in the 6 week challenge is to do strength training 2-3 times a week. Thank you for the warm welcomes everyone.
  14. Thanks for the wonderful welcome. ^^ I've thought about the paleo diet, but as of right now my funds and access to a kitchen is too limited to do so (a really, really poor college student). I am moving to my own place come August and I might try it then.
  15. Day 1 I find it ironic that as soon as I get this challenge that I get another flare up from my autoimmune disorder. I saw the doc today, and while my positive ana wasn't specific, he's putting me on lupus meds cause he thinks that's what it is. I walked probably a mile today, practiced mindfulness, read part of a a holistic healing book, ate up to my calorie goal, and drank 11 cups of water. I ate some unhealthy food but also had some really healthy food today. I wish I had done more, but I couldn't do yoga or strength today--my body is aching like I have the flu. Lame. Tomorrow, however, there will be no excuses. I'm resting today and then tomorrow I'm going to do yoga in the morning and strength training after dinner, as well as picking up meds. Maybe I'll walk to the pharmacy so I don't feel so unproductive towards my goals.
