  1. I just completed my first 6 week challenge. I didn't do as well as I would have liked, but I'm better prepared for the next one.

    1. Warmachinez

I congratulate you on completing your first challenge. That is better then 90% of people who start ;)

    2. DELETED

agreed. and if you learned something that you can use it your next challenge, it's a small win

    3. Panczo

congrats man - both on challenge and awesome beard :)

  2. N8, regardless of how we did, for completing the first 3 weeks everyone got 10 stat points. Use them to update your character in your signature block. I'll be adding my character to my signature block. I don't know when the next 6 week challenge starts, but I'll be in one of the ranger teams. Hope we cross paths again, TTFN.
  3. As week 6 closes I have been all over the place with my workouts, water intake, and other goals so I'm not going to take anymore stat points aside from the ten we get at the end of week 3. I'm looking forward to starting a new challenge and changing up my goals. I have established a better base line of fitness for myself that I can start building on, I have to work on the frequency of my workouts to keep improving my fitness. Also, I won't base my life goal on something that is outside of my control next time. I can submit 20 resumes a week that doesn't mean I'll get a job. I have to be in control of whether I succeed in all of my goals and not let the world dictate it to me.
  4. Monday I did an interval workout with kettlebells. Rested Tuesday. Ran through some pain on Wednesday for just 15min Thursday I did sprint intervals at a track: 2 laps at under 2 min, 2 half laps at 53 seconds, and 2 quarter laps at 21 seconds. Followed it up with half a kettlebell workout. Rested today. Saturday I'm going start the morning with a 25min run and try not to take any walking breaks, I might push it to 30 minutes, we'll see how I feel. After dinner I'm going to mix the BBWW with some kettlebells and see what I come up with. As tigger says, ttfn.
  5. N8, great concept of failing better. The concept of cheating is accounted for in many diets. Rather than going cold turkey plan to cheat a little bit so that you aren't tempted to gorge. I've been having an occasional mini-pack of almond or peanut m&m's to deal with my sugar tooth; and, to avoid beer I'm using a 1-to-1 orange juice water mix when I need to drink something and want some substance.
  6. Sorry, my screen name is an amalgam of family names. Jump on the group fb page and you'll see my real last name is also derived from the german word krieg, but has a different suffix.
  7. Lana, Lana, LLLLAAAANNNNAAAA! What? Daaaanger Zooone Love that cartoon and How to Archer: The Ultimate Guide to Espionage and Style and Women and Also Cocktails Ever Written is a hilarious read.
  8. It's been a week since my last post so here's an update. Last week wasn't very conducive to structured exercises so I just did the occasional calisthenic exercise or strength training with the kettlebells I have around the house. However, this week I started strong with a 2.8 mile run on Sunday taking 1min walking breaks every 7 to 8 minutes. Today I'm going to do some interval work with kettlebells and bodyweight exercises. Tomorrow will be at the local running track for some sprint intervals. With the completion of my first 3 weeks here's my Level 1 character with his first 10 stat points Dwarven Newbie, Level 1 Str: 3 Dex: 1 Sta: 3 Con: 0 Wis: 3 Cha: 0 + 2 I added the Charisma modifier because I like the way my beard is shaping up. I'm at the 2 month mark and have decided I'm going to grow my first year long beard. I'm trimming my neckline for comfort and cheeks for an anchor style beard, but aside from that I'm going to let it grow for a year.
  9. I'm off to a great start this week. Yesterday, I did a 2.8 mile walk/run with a 11min/mile average. I had to take walking breaks every 7 to 8 minutes, but kept going to build up my endurance. Today I'm doing some yard work for my dad, interval training with kettlebells, and hitting the gym for some upper body weight training. Tomorrow I'll be hitting the track for sprint intervals. I'm more organized in previous weeks and am going to start tracking my food intake. I think my calories are ok, but the balance of protein to carbs, fats, and sugars isn't right. We'll see what my results are after this week. Don't forget to assign your first 10 stat points to your Level 1 character now that we have completed the first 3 weeks of the challenge.
  10. Way to always look for the silver lining, N8.
  11. Something interesting I found on a site I like to frequent. Muay thai body weight workout
  12. I've just been going through the challenge rules and at the end of this week we all will have earned level 1 and 10 stats points.
  13. Wish I had better news, but I haven't lost a pound yet. My eating has been up and down, good days and bad, but I've managed not to have any soda during the challenge so far. And, I've locked the routine in of starting everyday with a quart of tea. There's a Stash tea outlet near my home so I'm going to visit it and see what new blends I can find or make that aren't on the store shelves. After Tuesday's workout it took two days for my hamstrings and glutes to recover. I won't be getting on the rowing machine until my squats are much more developed. I lifted some weights at my sister's apartment fitness center Friday, ran Saturday, and swung kettlebells on Sunday. I'm going to try and run this afternoon, but Monday may be a rest day. I've started doing at least 1 round of the BBWW as a warm up for all workouts and it feels great. I'm going to use the Angry Bird rep structure some time this week and integrate my kettlebells in an interval training structure. I'll post the results for everyone, wish I had a video camera so I could tape it.

  15. The BBWW is the Beginner's Body Weight Workout. It's a good intro do body weight workouts, but does require some kind of weight with a handle for the rows. I've been doing bent rows with a kettlebell in each hand instead of using chairs, it works the low back more.
