  1. Wow D_D - compared to that it's really roasty here still! It's about 30 F (0 C) here in the mornings, so as of yet a run is still totally doable... the real problem will be in about six more weeks when snow and ice make their permanent home here! I'll definitely try the neck gator idea when it comes to that! Earlsdottir - thanks for the support! It was a total bummer being sick (as you know), especially during the first week of the challenge when you're trying to get that momentum going. Oh well - still here and ready to go strong! I hope your all better and back on your feet too!
  2. Wow Darwin - it sounds like you've got it all under control! Keep up the great work! I really need to start waking up earlier - it makes getting things done so much easier.
  3. Wow - super impressed with your goals and how well you've done so far! That's a totally bummer about the injury, but hey, it could have been a lot worse; way to focus on the bright side of things and take the time to get better properly! I'm also totally down with how you laid out your priorities for everyday. I definitely need to do something like this - somedays it's real easy to spin your wheels in the lab! Keep up the awesome work
  4. Thanks for checking up on me everyone! So I started off the challenge at the worst time - all the student's came back to uni and, with all the stress of work & courses, I got pretty ill for a few days. However, things are clearing up now, and, despite taking a break by not completing the workouts for the first week, I did meet the caloric intake goal (which, being sick, wasn't very difficult!). Now that I'm back on my game I'll be hitting things hard starting tomorrow, waking up early to squeeze in a weight training session before class. Daggart - TRX looks really cool - I've never trie
  5. Thanks! Thus far (mainly, on the last challenge) I've been running a lot to get my cardio in, but as that was the main focus of my last challenge I'm ready to switch things up (it got a bit tedious near the end! and also, winter really is coming where I live, and I hate running in the cold) and give myself a bit of freedom to try other things. For this challenge I'm hoping to get in a bit of rock climbing, spinning, and swimming to change up the pace a bit!
  6. Nice! I'll definitely try keep up with you guys for this next challenge. I'm over at Aegon's Conquerers accountibillibuddies thread I started a bit late, as I'm just getting over a cold, but I'm ready to hit things hard! PS Darwin's Demon - how'd you get that awesome progress bar on your signature?
  7. Totally not a dragon... but is a wolf still welcome here?
  8. Winter is coming, and the knights of summer will not survive the long, dark days of ice. All a wolf can do is prepare and hope that her efforts were enough to get her through until summer comes again. Valar morghulis... but perhaps wolves don't have to quite yet... Main Quest... To have less than 20% body fat by November 2nd This will be estimated using the online calculator that uses waist, hip, and neck measurements. As the challenge ends a week before this deadline, I should be 85% closer to my goal by the end of the challenge. My current (estimated) BF is around 25%, so my goal for
  9. First off, congrats everyone on finishing is up! I'm so completely impressed and inspired by all of you - you all rock and I can't wait to see you out there during the next challenge! As for meeting my own goals, despite some lack-luster effort during the challenge (week 4 and 5, specifically ), I think I'll count this challenge as an overall success. Goal 1: swift as a deer - run 3x weekly, working up to 1/2 marathon by the end of the challenge For this I met my goal of running most weeks, with an average completion rate of 72% (B-). However, I did manage to hit the 1/2 marathon goal

  12. Hey all: A quick update to let you know I'm back on track: the run on Monday went awesome, I felt like I really needed a kick in the pants to get back on the fitness train, and my long runs have been going really well, so I decided to give the full 1/2 marathon a shot - and I totally did it!! So, regardless of the mistakes I've made along the way I can still say I completed my main quest for this challenge. Also, it's got me back in the groove of working out and eating right, so yay! Targaryen: Great job making things work in the dorm situation! I know that kind of lifestyle is really diff
  13. Hey folks! Okay well, there has clearly been quite a lack of posts this week - hopefully other people had a better week 5 than I... I seem to have totally fallen off the fitness wagon. I'd actually rather forget it happened but, alas, for the sake of full disclosure (and so that I remember how shitty this is to admit so I don't do it again!): Week 5 round up: I only managed to do ONE of three runs, and ZERO of two yoga workouts. I don't even know how many days would technically count as 'clean eating' because I also stopped recording my food for the week. The food wasn't actually that bad, b

  15. Thanks WonderNatarella! I definitely enjoyed the family time, though next visit I'll be sure to plan out my meals and workouts a bit better! So last week wasn't the best week ever due to a bunch of reasons (excuses, excuses!) So I ended up getting 2/3 runs done 1/2 yoga sessions 4/6 clean eating days ... but on the plus side my 'not clean' eating days weren't horrible, and were just a result of poor planning (as with missing that last run). In addition to the normal workouts I also completed the ABWW during the week, so I may count that towards one of the missing workouts above. Anyhow I
