  1. What genre of short stories? Even though English was always my better subject, I seriously suck at poetry. lol Perhaps you should make some time to sit down and pick it up again! And yes, exactly. English teacher, translator, proofreader, any kind of language based career. There's a lot of direction she can take with it before she decides to cement writing as her main goal. That's one of the reason she decided to use Cousera for this year. It will allow her to dabble in a few different courses to test the waters on what truly interests her. And she can earn certificates with most.
  2. awe, and there's my bestest nutty pretzel twin beastie! Always finding the good. lol You take care of yourself and get all well. And then put a plan together to kick some serious butt!.....on something. big healing hugs! Love you!!
  3. A big booo on the sinus infection my friend! Unfortunately that does seem to be going around (knock on wood) But I second that yeah on getting up and getting it done! Hey, again I say, don't be so hard on yourself. You did SOMETHING when you could have easily chosen not to to. And see there......bonus on finding out about the grip strength. Hope you get to feeling better soon!
  4. Well, fortunately for her she is currently employed with a place she plans on being at for some time hopefully. So there isn't as much pressure on her right now as there probably was for you. And even though her main interest is writing she has always been advanced in her English skills so there is a variety of future interests this also holds. English is a good foundation for many job opportunities or other fields. Lol, unfortunately my friend I think many of us have done that in some way, hence what brought us to NF. So, what did you like to write?
  5. Alrighty.......didn't really go MIA because goals were getting accomplished. I've just been seriously distracted. Spent a goodly portion of the last couple of days going over college course options with my daughter. She wants to major in English and particularly creative writing. And after much consideration, I think she's decided to study individualized courses with Coursera for the remainder of this year and aim at enrolling with an online college around the beginning of next year. My brain is officially mush. On the goal front...... Thursday...... GMB........Pass Still much work to be done here......again forgot to print off those darn assessment papers. Food tracking also a Pass.......everything is logged in my notebook. No adulting or Dresden Files. Friday....Mace work......pass Put in my 428 reps with my current routine. Food tracking was also a Pass. Did not get in any Dresden Files. But, I did get in an hour toward my adulting goal so a big Pass on that! Okie dokie, thinks that catches me up to date. Trying to catch up on as many of you guys as I can. If I haven't made it by I will.....asap! Now go forth and be awesome -ER!!! Have a great weekend!!
  6. oooops, lol..... see how busy I was that I missed answering this?? And awwweee.....isn't jr just the spitting image of his dad???? Seriously though, I guess it's time for an update.
  7. Awesome job on that workout jc! That looks like some seriously intense stuff......now I'm wondering if I should give it a try instead of just changing out my moves. Big thumbs up for kicking butt!
  8. A- Ahhh......yeah, done that. And anyone with kids especially can relate, but there you go again. Be proud, you're doing more than a lot of people would. Just be careful, stress and fatigue can lead to injury. Dooooon't want to see you get hurt. B- Absolutely no one can blame you for that, and smart choice knowing when to give yourself a bit of a break. Hang in there my friend, this too shall pass. *hugs*
  9. Is that the program your thinking of doing this round? If so then that's awesome! You can give me a first hand review.
  10. Awe.....what's up? Under the weather or lack of sleep? Big thumbs up for getting that workout out in despite it.
  11. Post Rewritten from above! (please work.....please, please......) Oooooookay......... Meant to post last night......got super tired ......may or may not have been up until the 3-ish am range........probably needed Calibre to leave that coffee trail. So, let's play make up......and please excuse any zombie brain prattling......little slow on the get go this morning. Okie dokie......... Monday......... doesna count, why? Well because it's my challenge and I say so. Actually I didn't have my challenge thread written up until rather late-ish on Monday so I wasn't focusing on the goals. But, I did however get plenty of water in.....side related and unlisted goal AND mace work and no sugar......again side related goal. So, though not directly focused on said challenge goals, not an unproductive day over all......least not on on my fitness goals......ahem. And for anyone who hasn't seen my mace routine, here is what I am currently doing: Mace Work: (x 2 just means I did both sides) Torso Twists 34 x 2 Gravedigger (or Shovel) 34 x 2 Butter Churn 44 Wood Chop 34 x 2 Rows 34 x 2 Backscratchers 44 Hail Thor 34 x 2 Raised all by one rep. (Rep Total 428) Tuesday GMB work in, though I do need to print off some more of the assessment papers and keep track.....I tend to focus on the doing and not so much the assessing.......and that's kind of important. Besides.......seeing ANY progress in my rather stiff self will be immensely helpful as I ungraciously perform what feels like the miraculous. lol Honestly though, since I first started this ......about a month ago, even with it being sporadic, I can tell progress has been made because I can get a bit deeper in the move without feeling like I'm going to die. FF Program looks like this: The four positions I am working on are: Squat- modified pigeon & modified downward dog prone backbending (or cobra) & kneeling lunge (this one is the hardest) I am doing two holds of 10-20 seconds in each position, each hold is followed by a dynamic contraction (a slow controlled back & forth movement). Then a third hold of 30 seconds or greater followed by another dynamic stretch. Everyone with the yoga skills has my profound respects. All the foods were tracked! (via notebook). Unfortunately nothing was done via the life goal OR the Dresden Files (super awesome so far.....book 3 being even better than the last two). I realized I didn't set a time frame on the Life Goal so let's just say I want to get that in at least three days a week. Yes, that is cheating since I'm already down two days and that still allows me to get it done this week. But let's go with that. Wednesday....... Still in the books but a round of the above mace work is done! Now, lastly.......I have found a really useful app on my Kindle called Habit Tracker. Essentially you put in any habit you want to start and it has daily reminders and keeps a running tally of the days you check off and any fails or skips. I think this will add another layer of accountability as there is just something about not breaking that chain of check marks that is motivating. Still figuring it out as I'm not getting the reminders. But once I plug my goals in and if I can figure out how to screen shot on my kindle I may start posting this as accountability. Phew.......there ya have it folks! Have a great day and I'll hopefully catch up later. Hugs!!
  12. Lol......then by all means, feel free to hang out. Though it may take more than a blessed minute to fix that.
  13. aaack!!!!! What the heck just happened to my post????!!!! siiiiiiiiigh......stupid kindle..... :/ well....if you are currently looking at that mess above, my apologies.....I'm working on fixing it.
  14. wiping this post and rewriting it as it insists on being ......less than cooperative. Enjoy a Harley gif.....
