  1. G1: I did some burpees and pre-push-up exercises as well as some abs. I noticed that the 40lb dogfood bag was easier to carry today. G2: I noticed a bit of improvement, having remembered to engage my abs a bit to help hold myself. G3: We played and upheavaled the couch. L: I completed the math section of the first book, just the vocabulary and written section until the practices. For geometry I was correct on 14/15 (93%), but on the misc section only 5/10. The comprehensive was 20 questions and I was correct on 14, 70%, which seems better given what I had been getting.

  4. I think I have been getting worse this past week, but I think it is the lull that if I get past will mean I am approaching the habit zone. I have not noticed a difference in much of anything (strength, posture, size), except it is nice to have small things to say I got done each day. My life goal is really behind, but I am going to continue to prioritize and try to get it done.
  5. Level Up! Half-way Marks: G1: 6+4+6=5.333 --> B G2: 6+6+6=6 -------->A G3: 2+3+3=2.667 -->B D: 3+2+4 ---------->(N/A) L: F No milestones reached

  7. That seems like a solid approach to doing better. I keep making the excuse that my schedule is unstable, but that is no reason at all; I am trying to find a consistent time of day to accomplish my goals, then work on the what, but perhaps just assigning both would work better. Let me know how it works out for week 4.
  8. What are you going to do to better accomplish your goals in the coming days and weeks?
  9. I have been catching the posture thing less as the challenge has gone on. I am attempting to study for the GRE but still getting around 60% on the mini-practices even for math (took pre-engineering classes for undergraduate); the vocabulary word lists are not doing much better, I am taking far too long even though I just need to have an approximate meaning when I see the word.

  11. I went to Turkey, Istanbul specifically. I never realized how much one could do with plain yogurt before living there for a few months. I think a bit of research on the cultural no-nos is the only thing. Such as in Japan you must be invited to stay for the meal 3 times before it is real, if I am not mistaken. Just enough to not accidentally insult someone. In Turkey it was saying no to coffee/tea; not being a coffee drinker I managed to just ask for tea instead.
  12. I know a bunch of people that studied and are or want to work there. Do you know anyone that has given you some information? Do you know any Japanese? I went elsewhere but found being in a place without knowing the language to be fun and interesting. How are your quests going?
  13. Wednesday G1: Yes, see G3 G2: Yes G3: Yes, 2mi/1hr walk D: yes L:X

  20. That looks like physics! or engineering! <-- Actually was my first thought when I read your first post. What kind of engineering? I agree that less extreme F's are better, at least for me, but I have taken enough physics to fully appreciate how half is just not good enough. (Except for that one class in which the professor explicitly explains that it is not uncommon for the average to be under 68 for an exam and to not freak out.)
  21. Tuesday G1: stretch G2: yes G3: X D: X Started the day with granola/sweet cereal L: I completed another math section. I was 39% wrong though on the 18 questions at the end. :/ I almost had a minor in Mathematics, what is going on? o_O??
  22. What leads you to suspect that? Previous works, high expectations, or trailers?
  23. Instead of Ender, perhaps a different character? Movie previews and things will cause non-readers to pick up on it, sort of how so many people know of 42 but do not really get it. Personally, I would pick Bean, but I liked Ender's Shadow as the 2nd rewrite of the original mini-story. Perhaps Bean's real name or brother would be too esoteric though, but I generally would assume others to have a better memory than I.
  24. Monday G1: incline push-ups, stretch, and squats G2: yes G3: Play D: X Dinner was chicken and sweet potatoes with cucumber slices in olive oil, lemon juice, and a bit of salt. BUT breakfast and lunch were prepackaged bad stuff. L: X
  25. No matter what, have a baggie of rice in the event of wet electronics. I do not know how the rice cooker works, but if possible consider chicken broth instead of water for taste and nutrients.
